anyone besides me think this movie really suck? i mean the movie itself, especially the script. no offense to fans of michelle and the other dude, acting wise pretty decent but the stupid script highlighted once again that singapore can only produce cheesy, simple minded flicks that will nv be an impression on us. How is this going to inspire or bring out any further message from the movie where simply as in the script, how u can be famous is just by shedding a tear and hence u will win 10yr mediacorp contract? PLEASE?!! stop perpetuating that we singaporeans are dumb and have the decency to construct a script tt is worth of the movie money we pay, if not we will nv ever improve in our film industry. stop making scripts so predictable and all round cheesy. I watched this because Apple of my eye was fully booked so sadly had nth else to watch and decide to give a singapore film another shot, but sadly it Already famous sucks big time and once again disappointed me. Look at apple of my eye, also a low budget film with unknown actors but nonetheless the script is way better then this stupid show which so degrading to our society. cant imagine how foreigners will perceive us. In summary, unless i shed a tear and can win 10yr contract, if not this film dont deserve it's acclaims. not even worth watching dvd

No doubt the accent that Michelle chose doesn’t reflect that of a Yong Peng resident. It is not like Singapore, which is over 400 times smaller than Malaysia, and even different regions of Malaysia have different accents. Coming from Johor myself, I can attest to the fact that Johoreans do not speak with such accent. In fact, thanks to the availability of Singapore TV signal in Johor, many Chinese Johoreans can speak almost like Singaporeans. I even received a comment from a local before that I do not sound Malaysian. But heck, that is not my priority concern when watching this movie. I’m more to wanting to get the humour out of the story plus Michelle’s imitating talent.

Haha but when u go jb, u can hear malaysian accent everywhere, as long as locals r speaking mandarin, its totally similar. The movie's boring storyline is like super long, the climax is like some run off the mill scripting, one minute to cry to get 10 yrs mediacorp contract. Abit unrealistic, even 才华横溢 only give 2 yr contract, moreover an extra competition, michelle must be laughing her way to the bank, haha mda grant and box office profits!

That's becos u have a lot of Malaysians from different corners of the country working in JB or those working in Singapore crossing over to JB to chill the weekend off. I dun mind so much about whether it's realistic onot when it's meant to be a comedy.... And comedies can be exaggeratingly unrealistic....

I thought the movie was a terrible disappointment.

In my mind's eye,Michelle was quite the genius.

"Already Famous" is definitely less what her full potential can produce.

The only reason the theatre I was in was fully booked was because the audience believed in her too.

And hor,that audio track that kept playing during the movie was such a ear-sore.

I can't even be bothered to watch his movies free on internet, talk about paying 10 bucks for it, no way !!!!

The themes always preach about the right values etc but Neo is such a hypocrite and not practising what he preached , watching his films is just like buying slimming pills from a fatty who is telling you that guarantee to lose 7kg within 7 days (no offence intended for the chubs, in fact I think chubs are cute and very very huggable)

His press conference regarding the affair with a woman is so "drama", just like any of his movies... poor taste , unbearable and lack originality..................NEXT

He had probably enjoyed his popularity in the 90s where his Monday night variety show was well-accepted

by the less-privileged audience aka uncles and aunties.

Yes he directed is first movie in 1997 and was an instant hit.

He stroked a chord when 'Money was really not enough" during the economic crisis.

He also managed to score another hit about anxious parents and their wayward children.

But that's all!

His recent fiasco with attention-seeking char-bo simply is a facade to gain more media attention.

The only way to regain prominence is through sensational news.

Well, Jacky Chan did it with his "Xiao Loong Nu".

So it is fortunate that the local newspaper did not label him as the Wong-Kar-Wai of Singapore.

His movies are, at best, C-graders.

Wow great! about this 'innocent ' married man wondering into a gay sauan in chinatown 'by chance'.

Saw so many naked men & was so tempted & keeps going back even though he struggles. Then one day,

he bumps into his colleagues, his brother-in-law, his nephew, his neighbour, his boss, etc on skin nite.

Then do mass orgy with all of them. Name of movie "Shit, Prey,Cock" in 4D(with smell. Just put raw oyster in front of the aircon in the theatre to simulate u-know-what)

I am judging based on trailer

Once again, no plot seemed to be showing in the trailer, in fact similar to another Singapore movie's trailer, it screamed NO plot, just snapshots of social problems (from Ah long to ITE students)

Also I am a little puzzled by the genre of this movie, if this is meant to be comedy, I didnt laugh at any part of the trailer, which is bad as trailers are suppose to have the best parts to entice you to watch the movie. If this is a social drama, those topics had been discussed many times and yet I didnt see anything new in the trailer.

I saw the movie but left halfway . Terrible plot .... The first part of the movie did touch my heart , cause jack neo made a girl shave her hair ........ But the next half of the movie .... Well I don't know , left the cinema . A terrible movie and the daniel guy stripping was the best part , but never saw his abs anyway ... Wasted , quite a cute guy ! However I think he cannot act la .. Wait for avengers and underworld !!!

While Namewee's 2007 controversy had a bit to do with the situation, the tax rebate was also mainly due to Nasi Lemak 2.0's classification as a 'foreign movie'. The same case happened to Ice Kacang Puppy Love before even though both movies were shot in Malaysia and by Malaysians.

Bought the Nasi Lemak 2.0 movie cd from a shop @ $12.90.

It's a comedy.

The original Malaysian version DVD selling in JB costs RM19.90 and has the DVD, "the making of", 2 music videos, a video of its international premiere in Melbourne and a big Nasi Lemak postcard!
