Guest Carnage
Never liked Tobey's spiderman, there's something very cheesy about it those films, Andrew's first one wasn't that bad, 2nd one was. Thing about the previous reboots is the constant revisiting of the spider biting origin story, its like being stuck on groundhogs day and its time they moved on from that. Also one of the bigger draw is his inclusion in the MCU. 18 minutes ago, mith said: i much prefer this fat mexican kid with tom holland! The annoying fatty ain't mexican, he's pinoy. dynox
Tom Holland as Spider-Man is great, actually more than great. He brings a unique charm to the character. That being said, the plot of the film like Gotg2 was just derivative... its unfortunate given how impressive Michael Keaton played Adrian Toomes. Despite being possibly MCU's worst film, the film has its moments with the Vulture, Tony Stark and of course Pepper Potts, who was the best part of the film. Can't wait to see more of her in the MCU. Quality acting, quality video production, sensuality is well played out, the plot is well put forward with a bit of a twist, the morality of ambition... selling your soul for it and redeeming bad deicions and listening to your inner voice. Among all the younger bro was the best in acting for sure they definitely achieved a movie objective of wanna to beat hollywd action pack(mayb on par) it took the dtor 6yrs to plan for this! in terms of well written ones, korea has aplenty one good example is Mother (definitely shortlisted in best foreign film) and some i cannot really rem the titles offhand...... what s ttb? Guest Guest
I saw the movie trailer for Crazy Rich Asians. This movie is set in Singapore. I am deeply dissapointed and disgusted! None of the major leads are singaporeans. Michelle Yeo and Henry Golding are malaysians! There are 5 singaporeans playing minor minor roles... The lack of Singaporean representation on a movie based in SG is appalling! I am surprised why did the government grant this american movie company to film in SG when they are not giving Singapore face by casting more local actors! I do not accept that none of the leads are locals! Are they saying we have a lack talent? I am also annoyed that how can michelle yeoh and henry golding who are malaysians play singaporeans, where is their pride? Malaysia and singapore are always like brothers, thats why i am disgusted by michelle and henry because of money suddenly turn singaporeans? I will therefore boycott the movie and future movies by michelle yeoh, henry golding!!

Guest acclaim
Just wonder which Singaporean Actor with international acclaim is out there? The threadstarter's sentiment is blinded by this "always to be number 1 obsession" and ridicilous " Singaporeans first" mindset. With your attitude you would need to boycott quite a lot of things out there because the local content is missing. The pure local movie and tv scene is still being far from any international standard. Boring soap operas always turning around the same storyline, movie? ah boys to men?... There could be other reasons too that maybe no Singaporean actor wanted to be associated as filthy rich... I hope you're chewing on some real made in Singapore fish crackers now (threadstarter better check the packaging, yup no skip this bus; it was surely not a Singaporean bus driver....) abang
There may be a horde of local actors vying for the roles but were not chosen. The role called for a young 20-something and Henry Golding (born in 1987) has that pan-Asian look that will appeal to mass audience. He has that British accent since he was uprooted from Terengganu to England at the age of 7. You think Greasy aka the newly crowned Best Actor can handle that role? Xu Bin started as a 贵公子 on Singapore's TV programmes but I don't think he has the English proficiency to handle the role. The closest of the bunch of younger actors I think will have to be Benjamin Kheng. George Young (married to Janet Xie) should be the ideal choice if he is 10 years younger.
