I prefer  Andrew Garfield over Tom Holland acting over spidey....the whole show portraying him much of a kid behavior... ~_~

spiderman originated from the comics, then the countless cartoons we watched growing up! spiderman supposed to be a kid still in high schools... thats why i said hollywood finally captures the essence of spiderman...

for all the past movies, hollywood deviates trying to make a darker theme out of it... nothing wrong with it of course, just losing the essence loh...

besides, for the past 6 movies, there were 2 irritating screaming girls - durst and stone -  just annoyed me incessantly!

i much prefer this fat mexican kid with tom holland!

one more reason to like this spiderman is the adorable tom holland... !

Never liked Tobey's spiderman, there's something very cheesy about it those films, Andrew's first one wasn't that bad, 2nd one was.

Thing about the previous reboots is the constant revisiting of the spider biting origin story, its like being stuck on groundhogs day and its  time they moved on from that.

Also one of the bigger draw is his inclusion in the MCU.

Tom Holland as Spider-Man is great, actually more than great. He brings a unique charm to the character.

That being said, the plot of the film like Gotg2 was just derivative... its unfortunate given how impressive Michael Keaton played Adrian Toomes.

Despite being possibly MCU's worst film, the film has its moments with the Vulture, Tony Stark and of course Pepper Potts, who was the best part of the film. Can't wait to see more of her in the MCU.

This is DAMN GOOD MOVIE!!!... "THE TREACHEROUS"

Get the one month free NETFLIX trial period and go watch it and other movies then cancel before they charge you money. But I love Netflix.. has a lot of nice movies.. if you like this one you will love the one where a detective is struggling with his transgender sex change while still being a man action hero detective who is a deadly fighting machine..."Man on High Heels"

Quality acting, quality video production, sensuality is well played out, the plot is well put forward with a bit of a twist, the morality of ambition... selling your soul for it and redeeming bad deicions and listening to your inner voice. Among other virtue and values.

I loved the movie too! The plot twist towards the end was great and super touching. I tried really hard to hold back my tears as I was watching it with my other friends most of whom were noticed with teary eyes. Yeah I agree that the story itself is very meaningful and reminds me to remain a good soul in whatever circumstances.

9.5 / 10

BTW, anybody find the mature death god super hot? So manly he is!

IMHO the lead role's younger brother's acting was quite good. Overall all actors did well and the story was very well-written and the picture was well directed.

In terms of Korean movies, Gong Yoo's acting in TtB was most unforgettable, especially his powerful scene of parting with his daughter.

Yes indeed! Among all

the younger bro was the best in acting

for sure they definitely achieved a movie objective of wanna to beat hollywd action pack(mayb on par)

it took the dtor 6yrs to plan for this!

in terms of well written ones, korea has aplenty

one good example is Mother (definitely shortlisted in best foreign film)

and some i cannot really rem the titles offhand......

what s ttb? Gon yoo?

I would fuck the korean guys, especially the hot blooded younger brother serving the military

Me too,  I want to be tied by him (the young uniformed brother) onto bed and rape me several times.

There might not even be a name for this condition of yours

that makes you fall asleep by reading ONE LINE someone wrote.

CAREFUL!!  Don't even think of driving until this condition of your head has been fixed.

Sounds very bottomish

You mean, sentimentalism is very "bottom"?

Maybe...  although "bottom" should also mean something back there that feels pleasure instead of pain.

Strange...

I saw the movie trailer for Crazy Rich Asians. This movie is set in Singapore.

I am deeply dissapointed and disgusted! None of the major leads are singaporeans. Michelle Yeo and Henry Golding are malaysians! There are 5 singaporeans playing minor minor roles...

The lack of Singaporean representation on a movie based in SG is appalling! I am surprised why did the government grant this american movie company to film in SG when they are not giving Singapore face by casting more local actors!

I do not accept that none of the leads are locals! Are they saying we have a lack talent?

I am also annoyed that how can michelle yeoh and henry golding who are malaysians play singaporeans, where is their pride? Malaysia and singapore are always like brothers, thats why i am disgusted by michelle and henry because of money suddenly turn singaporeans?

I will therefore boycott the movie and future movies by michelle yeoh, henry golding!!

I think the trailer was pretty good, and definitely enticed me :) as for the casting, I guess it doesn't really matter that much as long as they get the characterization right. I'm ok with Malaysians acting as Singaporeans.

It's just a movie; don't get so upset over it. That's why it's called acting.  :D

Hollywood does these things all the time.

E.g. Produce a movie about ancient China - lead actor is white.  LOL

Can you accept Angeline Jolie play a Brit in Tom Raider

Can you accept Meryl S played a Brit in Iron Lady ?

Is only a movie so serious.  A movie implied that is for entertaining pleasure.

If it is all factual without dramatize it , then it is called Documentary

Just wonder which Singaporean Actor with international acclaim is out there?

The threadstarter's sentiment is blinded by this "always to be number 1 obsession" and ridicilous " Singaporeans first" mindset.

With your attitude you would need to boycott quite a lot of things out there because the local content is missing.

The pure local movie and tv scene is still being far from any international standard. Boring soap operas always turning around the same storyline, movie? ah boys to men?...

There could be other reasons too that maybe no Singaporean actor wanted to be associated as filthy rich...

I hope you're chewing on some real made in Singapore fish crackers now (threadstarter better check the packaging, yup no skip this bus; it was surely not a Singaporean bus driver....)

There may be a horde of local actors vying for the roles but were not chosen.

The role called for a young 20-something and Henry Golding (born in 1987)  has that pan-Asian look that will appeal to mass audience.   He has that British accent since he was uprooted from Terengganu to England at the age of 7.

You think Greasy aka the newly crowned Best Actor can handle that role?

Xu Bin started as a 贵公子 on Singapore's TV programmes but I don't think he has the English proficiency to handle the role.  The closest of the bunch of younger actors I think will have to be Benjamin Kheng.  George Young (married to Janet Xie) should be the ideal choice if he is 10 years younger.
