I am a huge fan of comedy!! I wouldn't call Chuck and Larry mindless... it's got a nice heartwarming storyline. And I still say that Kevin James is damn hot.

Balls Of Fury... yeah, from the name, can tell it's pretty mindless... but look at the gist of the storyline. IT'S INTRIGUEING to say the least.

I was being sarcastic by the way.

The only people who can make me laugh now are Dane Cook, Russel Peters and Patton Oswalt.

Has anyone watched 1408? Movie with John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson. Awesome movie, didn't really like the ending though. Based on a Stephen King novel. Awesome mindfscking movie.

See I'm not all about mindless comedies. Teehee.

It will be showing on 3 Oct in sg. But be prepared to be disappointed as we wont get to see the whole show. A good 15mins (if im not mistaken) of the show will be censored and will be rated as NC16, the same as Malaysia. In HK its in the CAT3 category, which is only mild censored.

unfortunately, it is not the censorship board fault this time.

accordingly, if they sent in the orginal version, the film will be a R21 rating whereas the film distributor decided to bring in the edited version (believed was done by Lee Ang himself for the more conservative China market) and was given a NC16 rating.

so what's the difference in rating? appearantly a lot in terms of film revenue as R21 movies have a lot of restriction in screening and effectively limit the total number of viewers (read: horny teenagers) watching the film.

can only wish the film distributor distributed the R21 version later, which happened before.

it is rather ironic that the new rating is NC 16.

i doubt any 16 or even 18 year olds will be interested in a movie with such artistic themes.

Got Wong Lee hom mah... some teenage girls (and guys) will sure catch the movie...

I am not watching this in the cinemas... I've sucked more cock than the stupid censors have eaten more rice. Don't need some childish MDA brats and the moneyhungry distributors to tell me what I can or cannot watch.

Am going to get this on DVD9 next in Bangkok or KL. Sorry to Ang Lee but his agents loss is the pirates gain.

Stupid, i went to watch the movie today and it was really a great disappointment. Perhaps i went into the theatre expecting to see something which i didn't get to see in the end. There were only 3 sex scenes where you barely see anything.

The story was only so so, nothing spectacular. A plot that is expectable. No surprise, no nothing. Luckily it's only $7.

Has anyone seen Pleasure Factory- a R21 FILM 'Made in Singapore's Red Light District'? So far it has garnered lackluster reviews, mostly two to two half stars from local papers. I was surprised to read in Today's papar that two minutes has been trimmed from the final edit including, gasp!, 'a homosexual sex sequence'!

Saw the uncut version of this sexy exquisite Ang Lee film last weekend. It is very very good.

I haven't had any problems so far... my bottoms seem to be pretty flexible.

This movie is damn funny and superb. I recommend it with 4* :P

Just one gem - the main actor looks abit like Jay Chow, but the not so cold version, a more hamane version, i would say :)

It's just me.... Asura... don't fear, but be very afraid....

Ah, the year end movie award season (Golden Globes, Oscar etc.) is coming! And of course all the oscar worthy films are slowly making their way onto our shores. I recently caught Eastern Promises, directed by the director of History of Violence, starring Viggo Mortensen and Noami Watts. Amazing show about russian mob scene in London.

In simple words, Viggo showed why he earned his Globes nomination. He has a nice nude fighting scene in a bathouse. Lotsa lean toned body shots, his pee-pee dangling all over and blood everywhere!

My review: 4.5/5 :thumb:

Rather interesting movie i would say, and if you now how to download, you can save the whole flash video (300MB) from the net.

The movie started with linking jesus in bible to other pagans' myth and concluded that it is a literary and astrological hybrid. Then followed by the 911 consipriacy theories. and finally commented that the world is ruled by the riches (bankers etc)

there were plenty lashes at this movie as it "attacked" one of the largest religion. go google the movie and review and you can read them.

This movie was a well-wrapped piece of sh**. The storyline: party, monster, run, and died. The whole movie is about a film captured on a hand-held camera. The audiences were getting motion-sickness 20 minutes after show started. :swear: Ah-beng and Ah-Lian were kanningna-ing while walking out of the theatre. If you have $9.50, please drop them into the donation box.

I totally agreed. That movie is a piece of shit.

first 15 minutes --> A story about nothingness

latter 15 minutes --> following a shaking handy cam running around.

another 15 minutes --> Figuring out what the hell is that creatures

And I walked out of the cinema after that. I seldom walked out but this is one of the cases where I really felt like I'm spending time in a piece of crab.

My advice is forget about this movie, it's not worth your bucks.

It's not that bad. It certainly can't cater to everyone's expectations and tastes. I myself enjoyed it. There's actually character development, and yet entertaining at the same time. The home-cam thingy, one can get used to it after about 15 minutes.

The director/producer is JJ Abrams. His the guy that produces the Alias series. Actually that was the reason that attracted me to watch the movie in the first place.

But the movie could not live up to its pre-release hype. It was just an ok movie. The concept of viewing through a handy cam is acceptable. However the ending to me was very contrived. And I don't think I feel anything at all for the love birds at the end.

BTW, also saw the trailer for Stephen Chow CNY movie. It doesn't seem as good as Kung-Fu. But will have to wait and see the whole movie.

For me, i think is a terrible show.. make me sick for the whole show.. And there are some unknown reasons:

1) The statue(i think all know who it is so no need to name)'s head was dropped down by the ?? monster? I guess but how? Is that so fast?)

2) The Video Cam there is date/time but no year? Funny right?

3) So what is the ending?

so on and so for...

Anyway, i really felt sad for the chubby cameraman.. in the end ate by the monster..

:( sob sob.. But he looks cute..

and the 1st gal who got the bite by the mini monster.. she is brave but got killed by the military personnel as she turned into 1 of those monster too.. (too late to save her)

Overall, i think if those guys still want to see this movie, i recommend weekday watch it but prepare for motion sickness as the show is too 'live' show..

I definitely agreed. The movie sucks! Big time. Makes me dizzy and want to vomit throughout out the show.

As for the monster, it was never really shown. Just part and pieces of it, the leg, the body....part of the head...which look so fake!

Waste of money. "I am legend" is so much better!

Does anyone know where those spider-like monsters came from?

The monster looked big - as tall as a building. But when the camera man filmed it just before he was chewed and the monster looked str8 into his camera lens --- it seems to be much much smaller.

Where can I find this kind of people -- when you entrust him to be a camera man, he die die oso fufill his duty even when running from monster, climbing up and down buildings, attacked by small monsters and then the really big one.

If he would have died earlier, the movie will be shorter. Its all his fault to make the audiences sit through 82 minutes.

It has a nice storyline, I would say... Just that the thought of filming the movie using a handycam... Gosh! That was bad!... :P

I was so sick towards the last 30minutes, I thought I ate something wrong and was getting food poisoning... Then I realised it was the movie... :rolleyes: I almost vomitted when emerging from the cinema...

I like the story... Just that they should have spent more money to get special effects to make the monster look better and use the normal filming method... :lol:

How would the ending be unexpected?? They mentioned at the beginning the tape was found at a location used to be known as Central Park...

Quite funny that when the hellicopter plunged, the cameraman still shoot. And the main actor/actress never died when it crashed down dunnow how many hundred meters above the ground. I felt dizzy when the show started at the partying, then I slept through the movie to keep my head stable. Toward the end of the movie...i actually vomitted and luckily i carried a plastic tibits bag for me to hold my throw...!!! I think people with low blood pressure and get dizzy easily should not watch the movie. I am going to watch the mist tomorrow.
