A 49-year-old man was found hanged in a room in Club One Seven at Boat Quay on Nov 19 last year.

Police officer Siaw Kah Swee said: “Club One Seven is a two-storey sleazy gay pub meant only for registered patrons.”

Singaporean Yeo Hung Song's body was discovered after two cleaners managed to unlatch the locked door.

They found Mr Yeo, naked and hanging from a metal chain around his neck.

Yesterday, his death was ruled to be caused by hanging.

The coroner said it could be the result of autoerotic asphyxiation. This meant he had been restricting his breathing in order to be sexually aroused.

He was also said to be depressed, so suicide could not be ruled out.

I think according to the newspaper report the room featured bench with wooden legs and a 1-meter tall metal frame that had metal chain dangling at each corner... so yeah... whatever use you can think of it...

I think i know which room. It is the room which used to have a leather harness bed. The chains are for holding up the harness. The bed was damaged many years ago and it was never replace. The room is the first room on the left when one enters into the room area.

I might be wrong but I doubt the police officer actually called it as a sleazy gay pub. The Straits Times referred it as a spa instead.

It was in quotation marks...so probably the journalist didn't put words into the NAMED police officer's mouth (if not he could be in HUGE trouble). But definitely bad taste on the part of the TNP journalist to use this quote...he could have paraphrased. But then again, it's TNP. What did you expect from yellow journalism? lol

If victim was suffering from depression, more prone to spiritual attack and possession.

Definitely more than one entity on the 2nd level.

A very sad ending.  And a warning to gays to exercise control.  There was another case where a young person died and his death was hidden.  His lover was sentenced to jail for not reporting the death. 

 

There is no need to indulge in poppers and extreme enjoyment for erotic enhancement.  Death is the final penalty when done to excess.

I think guests' posting have more common sense than others.

You need to trust your intuition on this when there were numerous request to ask the management to respond to this but none.

 

Now the cat is out of the bag!  Death in a resident or commercial property is not good, whether you are superstitious or non-believer. These energies will be imprinted on the surrounding structures. 

 

To be fair, there are also spirits in other similar establishments but they are appeased.

It's also important to open the windows, ventilate and keep these establishments clean and fresh on a daily basis.

 

 

For goodness sake, get a priest or a pastor to bless the place.

I think not just the Str8 ones, to consider the panoply of comments so far. Accidental death is accidental death but death nevertheless: already painful, already humiliating, without having to be made into a moralizing lesson, a neophyte CSI exercise, an interdiction of saunas, an indictment of the concupiscence of gay culture, or cause for wild speculation about higher planes and whether Caspar The Friendly Ghost is an oxymoron.

After which I shared this with a friend, and he did tell me someone died in 17... I tot he was joking.. Now the truth has confirmed everything...

They did a great job in suppressing the whole unfortunately incident, maybe it happened on a weekday.  I still have 1 more return pass.
