Of course not lah! They are all foreign "TALENTS", you know...? Some countries welcome them with open legs, and in this case, literally.

Not gay but a warning for all those gay Peeping Toms.... and toilet filming fetishists ... Watch out... sentences seem getting higher...  and note: Your pic on the front page...

Man jailed for filming women in toilets over two years

Man jailed for filming women in toilets over two years Joyner Tai Liang Yun, who is on bail, is to start serving his 14-week sentence on Oct 31. TNP PHOTO: WONG KWAI CHOW

Sep 03, 2019 06:00 am

He got away with taking obscene videos of women in toilets and public spaces for more than two years.

But Joyner Tai Liang Yun, 24, was finally caught when he was investigated by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) during his National Service.

SAF investigators seized his laptop in 2017, and found the videos which dated back to July 2015, when he was a student.

Yesterday, Tai was jailed 14 weeks on four charges of insulting the modesty of a woman and three charges of criminal trespass.

After enlisting in July 2016, Tai was posted to a government building as an admin support assistant from February 2017.

On Aug 8, 2017, he saw a woman who was working in the building enter the toilet, and sneaked in after her.

He occupied an adjacent cubicle and took photos of her using his phone, but the victim spotted the phone and shouted.

Tai fled and returned to his office, where he viewed the photos and deleted them.

He was later investigated and his laptop seized. An SAF staff member made a police report on Nov 14, 2017, after at least one upskirt video and two videos of women undressing in toilets were found.

Tai admitted to taking a 19-second upskirt video of an unknown woman on Dec 12, 2016 at a supermarket.

And about a month earlier, he took a 10-second video of another unknown woman changing in the toilet.

On July 23, 2015, while studying at a polytechnic, he took a six-second video of an unknown woman in the school toilet.

Yesterday, Deputy Public Prosecutor Regina Lim asked for a deterrent jail sentence.

But Tai's lawyer, Mr Brown Pereira, asked the judge to consider probation, saying the acts were committed during Tai's youth.

District Judge Adam Nakhoda disagreed, saying the acts cannot be attributed to youthful folly.

Tai, who is out on $15,000 bail, is expected to be back in court on Oct 31 to begin serving his sentence.

The School Vice Principal is a criminal who took advantage of a teenager he was supposed to protect. End of story. Regardless of how the PRC Then-Student turned out later, the adult in charge was wrong from the very beginning, and deserves 100% of his punishment as a result.

Those making excuses for the School Vice Principal, regardless of whatever motives you ascribe to the PRC Then-Student, give the entire gay community a bad name. We should condemn all people like this criminal thug whom the extremists will point at to criticize the rest of us.

The VP abused the 14 yo not in the capacity of a VP but in the capacity of a free provider.

If the 14 yo din know he was sexually abused then, there is something very wrong with our education.

Yes, indeed. It was the VP's wrong.

I just wonder why people from other origins must often be painted as the culprits or making use of others.

Why do locals here like to call China guys money suckers or cheats and paint them in nasty colours even if it clear that they were victims?

The below post from Guest "Try and See" states untruths or repeats fake news on this case:

1) It was the VP who proposed to be guardian and it was not the China boy who requested the VP to be guardian.

2) The China boy even had to pay monthly rental to the VP to stay in his house

3) The China boy as representative of his class had to meet the VP to discuss matters of the class.

4) At the age of 13/14 years can everybody say to know any masturbation, what it is and how you do, with whom?  Please don't ignore the mother was not around. The China boy grew up with the VP and he was his life's teacher and mentor. Kids at such age and in particular in the local context are very trusting to any such authorities like the VP.

5) Don't forget the fear of the China boy of having to end his schooling and stay in Singapore.

6) It was made public during the court hearing that his mother in China paid for the schooling, university and other expenses, even while the china Boy was staying at the VP place.

Re-writing the facts as if the China boy solely benefited from the VP to reach his career is untrue and even unfair!

Quote from the Straits Times article: "The alleged victim also took time in court to explain that he relied on a combination of his mother's financial contributions, bursaries and loans to put himself through school right up to his university graduation."

Your moral would mean, because the China boy was staying at the VP house and the VP giving him the "chance" to stay in Singapore to complete his degrees and study medicine he had to bear the sexual assault, should have kept quiet (because he could have had some sort of gain)? Abusing a clearly straight young boy is justified because the VP "lend his hand (and dick)" to the China boy?

I also found it very hard to believe when the china boy claimed that he didn't know what the VP did to him was wrong.

Usually when you read of molest cases involving young boys, you will notice that even if the boy is only 6 or 7 years old, he will cry and protest when a man touches him inappropriately.

Yet this smart china boy claimed that he thought it was okay for guys to jerk each other off, just because the VP said so?

If he had really thought so, then he would surely have tried asking his male classmates to jerk off with him, and then see what their reaction would be. But somehow, he never asked any of his guy friends to jerk off with him, despite supposedly thinking that it was normal between guys.

In fact, if I were the judge, I would have asked the china boy in Court if he had ever tried asking any of his male classsates or friends to jerk off with him, since he had said he thought it was a normal practice between guys.

Also, he approached the VP to be his legal guardian after the VP had forcibly jerked him off in the gym and in his Woodlands flat.

Any other boy would have avoided the VP like the plague after such incidents. But the china boy still knew how to go to the VP for help, and still moved into the VP's house, knowing what the VP would do to him!

And even after he had contracted gonorrhoea from the VP, he still went to Scandinavia with the VP for holiday! I'm guessing the VP paid for everything, so for the china boy, why not enjoy a free luxurious holiday?

I mean, this china boy really knew how to make use of the VP!

As you've said, he could have just packed his bags and gone back to China at the very first sign of trouble. Or reported the VP.

But he seems to me to also be making use of the VP for his own purpose of remaining in S'pore.

And not forgetting the $200,000 which he later demanded from the VP. It's no secret that he wanted that money to help pay off the lovenest condo that he had just bought after he got married.

I'm not saying that I side with the VP, but as you've correctly said, the china boy was no angel too.

He's indeed very smart, which was how he managed to become a doctor. (Only a very, very small percentage of applicants get into NUS Medicine fac.)

My thoughts are "if the VP know how to cease and desist, and counter accuse of extortion... Then most likely they did it and nothing to be ashamed or they never did it in the first place"...

Speaking loudly, suffers softly. Smiles so wide, cuts unseen inside.

Bitin' the bullet, but never kick the bucket.

With the availability of information using today's technology and a doctor's caliber, a 14 yo doesn't know what's masturbation?

I m shocked.

If the boy is paying rent, he can find accommodation elsewhere. That's is, if he doesn't wanna be sexually abused.

1) It was the VP who proposed to be guardian and it was not the China boy who requested the VP to be guardian.

True, but it was the China boy who went to the VP for help regarding his guardianship issue, probably with the intention of making the VP his guardian. He could have refused the VP's offer, and then continue his education in China. But because by that time, he had got his PSLE results, and he did very well. So he wanted to do everything to remain in S'pore to continue his education.

2) The China boy even had to pay monthly rental to the VP to stay in his house.

True. I did not say that the China boy stayed in the VP's house for free. I only said that it was highly possible that the Scandinavia holiday was free for the China boy. About that holiday, the China boy could have declined the offer. After all, he told the court that he stayed for so many years with the VP because he wanted to care for the VP's aged parents. But it looks like the Scandinavia trip was more important to the China boy than taking care of the VP's parents.

3) The China boy as representative of his class had to meet the VP to discuss matters of the class.

Yes. I didn't dispute that fact. He was vice-head prefect in P5, and then head prefect in P6, actually. Usually school prefects are not simultaneously class reps.

Hmmm . . . By the time the China boy was in sec 1 in 2005, the internet was already highly accessible in S'pore. He could have checked, spoken to a teacher, or a classmate. He did none of that, apparently. Boys much younger than him already know that mutual oral sex (what we call "6 9") between straight guys is not normal. If the China boy believed that mutual masturbation was normal between guys as he claimed, why did he never once ask his male classmate to do it with him?

5) Don't forget the fear of the China boy of having to end his schooling and stay in Singapore.

Yes. That's my point. He needed the VP's help becsuse he wanted to remain in S'pore. Would continuing his education in China really have been so terrible? Does he despise his birth country's standard of education so much?

6) It was made public during the court hearing that his mother in China paid for the schooling, university and other expenses, even while the china Boy was staying at the VP place.

Re-writing the facts as if the China boy solely benefited from the VP to reach his career is untrue and even unfair!

Quote from the Straits Times article: "The alleged victim also took time in court to explain that he relied on a combination of his mother's financial contributions, bursaries and loans to put himself through school right up to his university graduation."

True, but the final key ingredient was the VP's guardianship. All the money in the world would not have helped the China boy remain in S'pore without that.

That's not my "moral". My point was that the China boy is not stupid, neither was he an angel. He knew where and when he could milk the VP, especially with the $200,000 demand.

I believe that when he first went to the VP for help with the guardianship, he knew the VP would offer to take him in. He'd be a fool not to know that. He probably also knew that the VP would use the occasion to molest and abuse him further, but I guess he felt that getting an education in S'pore was worth it, as long as he did not suffer financially or get injured/killed by the VP. If it's just mutual jerking off, he's do it with his emotions turned off just to satisfy the VP.

Btw, I don't mind you disagreeing with me about the case. That's what a forum is for: discussing opinions.

So thanks for sharing yours!  :)

Me too. That's the part I cannot accept.

If I was 11, and a man told me that guys regularly played with each others' cocks until they orgased, and then suggest that we try it with each other, I would have told my parents & school teachers about him!

And I wasn't even a smart kid!

I agree.

One guy needed a older man's guardianship in order to continue his education in S'pore.

The other wanted a teenage boy's body to have fun with.

But in the end, the gay guy is always the one who is left with nothing except society's condemnation.

Sometime in January 2018, Koh used his mobile phone to record three videos - lasting more than six minutes in total - of three different men dressed only in swimming trunks in the toilet's communal changing area.

That same month, he also took six videos of a man in a shower cubicle, capturing his face and naked body.

After Koh was arrested, police searched his home and seized a hard disk and laptop. They found 258 obscene films depicting naked men on the devices.

The prosecution had asked for four weeks' jail and a fine of S$2,000.

They never give him conditional warning like in the Nicholas Lim-Monica Baey incident?

An undergraduate who filmed men showering in a SAFRA club house was jailed 24 days and fined $2,000 on Tuesday (19 September).

Koh Kah Hock, 24, pleaded guilty to seven charges, including possessing 253 obscene films of naked men, causing a public nuisance by filming men clad in swimming trunks, and making four obscene films of men showering.

His lawyer John Koh had asked the court for a sentence of three weeks jail and a fine, saying that his client was remorseful. He had also pleaded guilty at the earliest juncture and assisted investigations.

John Koh added that his client has a decent educational background and has the potential to be a useful member of society. “It is an unfortunate event that things transpired this way.”

Facts of the case

On 16 June last year, Koh visited the Toa Payoh SAFRA club house at about 1pm to swim. He later went to the male toilet to shower. When he saw several men in the toilet, he developed the urge to record them showering.

He filmed two men in the shower before he was caught by the third victim, a 31-year-old man. As Koh filmed the man under the partition of their adjoining cubicles, the victim spotted his hand and grabbed the mobile phone.

Koh attempted to persuade the man not to expose him, but the man brought him to the life guard on duty. A police report was lodged and Koh was arrested.

When Koh’s residence was searched, officers found 253 obscene films of naked men on his laptop and hard disk. He had also taken videos of other men showering in the club house toilet in January and March last year.

In addition to capturing the men in shower cubicles, Koh also filmed men clad only in swimming trunks in the changing area of the toilet with his handphone in the same time period.

You merge for what? Are those news related to the exact same crime of taking video in pool?

Like that you may as well merge all these threads into just one junk thread called "Gay and everything" and that's it. Now you know why BW has fewer and fewer discussion due to the poor management of merging things as one. People don't even know what's the point of discussing anymore.

If you want to merge, let the thread be alive on its own for 2weeks. This is all fresh news, not your last month or last year news where people don't even feel like reading them.

Exactly. I don't understand these people making excuses for the VP and talking about the motivations of the boy. The VP was an ADULT in a position of TRUST and POWER. He broke that trust and abused that power. An ADULT is supposed to know better, and do the right thing, regardless of what the child wants.

Too many of you are thinking about this from the perspective of jaded men. You need to put yourselves in the shoes of a kid whose entire life is on the verge of being upended, since his mom has to leave, and is desperate to continue the life he knows. He thought the VP was a good man willing to help him survive.

Instead the VP turned out to be a selfish abuser and molester who exemplifies everything that is wrong with society. He forced the boy into sexual activities he clearly would not have done otherwise and even gave him a sex disease. There is no justification or sympathy for what that VP did. He was totally wrong.

I did not find any news by myself on such incident. Therefore, I can only conclude the nationality cited is made up.

I only found an article on this from the last incident of a peeping tom  in a male toilet (and he seems to be a Singaporean, there was another guy caught earlier this year which was reported here before and he was Singaporean and happened at NTU:

Six weeks’ jail for man who filmed 10 men using urinal
By Alfred Chua
Read more at https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/six-weeks-jail-man-who-filmed-10-men-using-urinal

08 November, 2017

SINGAPORE — Over around an hour, he repeatedly trailed men into the toilet so he could film them using the urinal, amassing clips of 10 victims before he was exposed.

Kwan Jia Hong, 34, was sentenced to six weeks’ jail on Wednesday (Nov 😎 for two counts of making obscene videos and one count of possessing four obscene films. Five more counts of these offences were taken into consideration for the purposes of sentencing.

Kwan committed the offences at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) on July 14 last year. He told the court he went to the school at around 11am that day to do his work but after about three hours, he started filming his victims in the toilet using his iPhone.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Sruthi Boppana said Kwan chose a toilet frequented by students.

At about 2.10pm, Kwan recorded a 57-second video of five men using the urinal. One of them, an 18-year-old NYP student, noticed Kwan “acting suspiciously”.

“Suspecting that (Kwan) had recorded a video of him urinating, (the student) decided to observe him for a longer period,” DPP Sruthi told the court.

Five minutes later, Kwan captured another video lasting 1 minute and four seconds, of another man using the urinal, then walking to the sink to wash his hands and style his hair.

As Kwan prepared to leave the toilet, the NYP student confronted him, demanding to check Kwan’s mobile phone. When Kwan refused, the teenager called the police.

At around 5pm, police officers arrived and seized the phone from Kwan, which contained the obscene clips. He had another iPhone containing clips of men engaging in sexual acts, among other things, said DPP Sruthi.

“He would replay the videos that he recorded and view them a few times before deleting them,” the prosecutor told the court.

This was not Kwan’s first time recording other men in a public toilet, the court was told.

For making an obscene film, Kwan could have been fined up to S$40,000 and/or jailed up to two years, on each count.

For being in possession of an obscene film, he could have been fined S$1,000 per film, or jailed up to 12 months, or both.

Editor’s note: This article has been updated with a statement from the Singapore Institute of Management.

SINGAPORE — A local bisexual singer has pulled out from a concert at SIM Global Education (SIM GE) institute after allegedly being asked to remove any lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) content from his performance.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore over the phone, Leon Markcus said he had been booked to perform at a concert on 24 September, “A Night To Shine”, organised by the SIM-RMIT Student Council.

However, two weeks before the concert, the 23-year-old pop singer-songwriter received a message from an organiser that the school management could not accommodate his LGBT “causes”.

“I don't blame the students,” said the queer musician. “From what I've heard, the students really fought hard to keep me in the concert, but ultimately, it was up to the higher management.”

“A Night To Shine” is billed as a student talent showcase with guest performers including Ralph Alvern, Hearken, HTL and Words Within. Leon was to have been one of the guest performers.

“My art and my sexuality are two different things,” said Leon, whose real name is Leon Chua Jun Rong. “And it’s very cheap of them to water down my work because of my sexual orientation.”

“I just don't think it's right for, especially a university or a place of education, to be supportive of discrimination,” Leon added.

According to Leon, a member of the student council had told him on 10 September, “After much consideration and internal conflicts with the higher management of the school, the school is unable to accommodate your performance for such causes”.

The student council suggested that Leon change his performance such that “attire, song content, and whatever is being delivered shall not be suggestive or provocative in any sense, as well as not promoting the LGBT community”.

Leon declined to perform at the concert instead of amending his performance to suit the school’s demands. He wrote his thoughts in an Instagram post, saying, “This is not the first time an incident like this has happened. Just earlier this year, my friend, Joshua Simon, had to endure the same rubbish.

“As a university, what kind of example are you setting to your students? Are you telling your students that discrimination is okay? That if they are LGBTQ+, them being themselves is not okay? My story is just one of the few rubbish that we as LGBTQ+ individuals have to endure in our daily lives.”

(there is a link to his instagram and letter:)

https://www.instagram.com/itsleonmarkcus/?utm_source=ig_embed

Leon released his debut EP “Mannequin in 2016. His second EP “Welcome To Hot City” is due for a 19 October release. His previous singles include Alive and Hot City.

Schools here have cancelled talks by LGBT speakers over sensitivity surrounding homosexuality. In July this year, gay local radio DJ Joshua Simon withdrew from a TEDx talk at Singapore Polytechnic after being asked to censor his speech for gay-related content. Last year, gay activist Rachel Yeo was barred from giving a TEDx talk at the Catholic school, Saint Joseph’s Institution.

Leon said his music doesn’t really touch on LGBT topics, although he is outspoken about LGBT rights in his social media posts. He often performs in androgynous attire.

Regarding his scheduled gig at the concert, Leon said he and his band had planned to perform songs from his upcoming release. “We were going to play the songs I have on my EP, which actually just talk about youth issues, growing up in a dysfunctional family, and feeling like an outcast. Nothing really LGBTQ or provocative, actually.”

Leon said he had performed at schools in the past with no negative feedback, including junior colleges, polytechnics and universities.

SIM GE (not to be confused with the former UniSIM, which is now the public Singapore University of Social Sciences) is a private education institute under the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) group which partners overseas universities to offer degrees to students in Singapore.

In response to queries from Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore, an SIM spokesperson released the following statement from the school: “As an educational institute with very diverse stakeholder groups, it is important that we remain sensitive to the different interests of our stakeholders. Asking performers to provide details of their performance at SIM’s events is therefore a standard procedure SIM requires of all performers. The same request is made of all the other four performers at the student event on 24 September, and not just of Leon Markcus.

“No decision has been made to cancel Leon’s performance as details of his performance are pending.”

SIM’s statement did not respond to Leon’s allegation that the school asked him to avoid LGBT issues, or say what details they requested from performers. Leon said the concert organisers did not respond when he asked what they meant by their requirement to not promote the LGBT community, and stopped communicating with him after he declined to perform.

Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore also reached out to the SIM-RMIT Student Council for comment, but had received no response at the time of this article’s publication.

Actually, he doesn't have to take it so personally. Believe me, if his concert show had a Christian message, the school would have also asked him to remove the Christian parts.

If you send a Christian greeting to your whole office, and include verses from the Bible, your boss will also make you retract the email and re-send the greeting without the religious verses.

I think gay people in S'pore should be grateful that at least we are not harassed or persecuted like in many Arab countries. No need to kao bei kao bu over everything and scream "discrimination" everytime their demands are denied.

But if the university approach you to remove any LGBT content or not to turn up sissy in girly dress like Kumar?

I mean before, they inviting him to do concert at school, the school know he do his show with such thing. Why invite him for concert?", Then after he sign up for concert, tell him before, please no reference to LGBT...no pink T Shirt, no bunny dress, please sing with deep manly voice, no sissy girl voice, no reference to anything when can see maybe gay.

to me is same like this asking you after doing movie, but publisher ask to cut away the kiss between maybe grandmother and father in law, because against family value.

First you ask , please do film on family problem, but later come around and give many restriction: no kiss, no blue sky, no empty house, people must have always wear 2 colour for clothing...

On other situation: You sure gay not harassed in Singapore? Gay not discriminated in Singapore? You sure what you writing here?

Accountant embezzled nearly S$4 million from company, remitting most home to the Philippines

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/accountant-embezzled-from-company-remitting-to-philippines-11938220

SINGAPORE: An accountant with access to his company's cheque books and bank accounts embezzled almost S$4 million from the firm over about four years, remitting most of the money back home to the Philippines.

Ariel Biasong Salamanes, a 42-year-old Filipino, pleaded guilty on Tuesday (Sep 24) to 15 charges, including criminal breach of trust and falsification of accounts. Another 267 charges were taken into consideration for sentencing.

The court heard that Salamanes was employed between 2012 and 2017 by QlikTech Singapore, a subsidiary of Swedish firm QlikTech International AB.

As part of his job for the sales and marketing arm of the big data analytics company, Salamanes handled book-keeping, balance sheets, as well as accounts payable and receivable.

He had access to the company's cheque books for the two bank accounts QlikTech owns in Singapore, and was authorised to sign singly on company cheques for payments of up to S$10,000.

He signed off on 451 company cheques between April 2013 and June 2017 to get the cash, covering up his crimes by instructing others to make false entries into the company's electronic accounting system.

He then made "a startling 835 remittances across 241 days", removing S$3.57 million of the money he embezzled from Singapore, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Cheng Yuxi.

HE REMITTED S$3.57 MILLION OVERSEAS

Most of the money was remitted to his home country, with some of it to the United Arab Emirates where he had some credit card debts, the court heard.

The Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) received information on Jun 13, 2017 that Salamanes might have misappropriated funds from QlikTech by depositing company cheques into his personal bank account.

At the same time, QlikTech began its own internal checks and later filed a police report.

Salamanes' OCBC account, which contained about S$22,000, was seized, along with items such as remittance slips and cash withdrawal slips.

He has not made any restitution to QlikTech to date, said the prosecutor, but the company managed to claim about S$3.9 million from its insurer as part of its fraud insurance.

ACCUSED EXPLOITED LOOPHOLE IN SYSTEM: PROSECUTOR

The prosecution on Tuesday urged the court to sentence Salamanes to at least 11 years' jail, saying that sentences for large amounts of misappropriation should be severe.

"The accused has misappropriated a staggering amount of nearly S$4 million in total," said the prosecutor, adding that he was given a high degree of trust with access to the company's cheque books and exploited a loophole in the system.

Because he could sign singly on company cheques for up to S$10,000, he was able to issue numerous cheques over four years.

"Almost all the money misappropriated was for the accused's own use or for his immediate family and boyfriend," said the prosecutor.

Of the S$3.57 million remitted, S$1.69 million was for his own use, while another S$1.48 million was for his family and boyfriend

About S$408,000 was kept in Singapore for his own use, said the prosecutor.

CLIENT WENT THROUGH TRAUMATIC BREAK-UP, USED MONEY FOR CHARITY: DEFENCE

Defence lawyer Christine Sekhon urged the court to sentence her client to no more than nine years' jail, saying that he had gone through a traumatic break-up with a long-term partner, with whom he had planned to settle down in Australia.

With the money he embezzled, he bought condominium units in the Philippines, invested in a multi-level marketing scheme that turned out to be a fraud, made stock investments and paid off his credit card bills in the United Arab Emirates.

The lawyer argued that her client had given some of the money away, paying for medication for the children of a long-time friend, financing at least 20 scholars through university and buying slippers for barefoot children in rural places in the Philippines.

Salamanes, who became a certified public accountant in 1997 and was called to the bar in his home country in 2008, developed depression towards the end of 2014, said the lawyer.

He felt "his altruistic actions" helped him, as he felt accepted and that the recipients of his help looked up to him.

She pointed out her client's "generosity and compassion, particularly towards charitable causes", and said he "has since come to recognise his own wrongdoing".

Salamanes had said he was "not a bad person", and that he "committed these acts to satisfy my craving to be accepted by others".

He is set to return to court to be sentenced on Wednesday.

The lawyer had gone missing after engineering firm Allied Technologies said on May 23 in a Singapore Exchange (SGX) filing that it was making a police report.
