Well, they might have walked around the whole dark area including the dark room right at the end.. And couldn't find or see anyone that they fancy!!.. So they just stand around the dark corridor area hoping someone they like might walk past them & either hoping the person will approach them or they will touch the person walking by hoping there's a response!
