Just came back from KB too. First time visiting during sunday evening and it was much more crowded than i thought. i must say that staff at keybox are always the most friendly one among all

I have never been to KB and I read with disappointment that uncles are despised. I'm sure they are humans too. They come and pay to enjoy the fun and the facilities. They don't bother you if they are not your cup of tea. So what is your problem? If you don't like to look at them, move on to the next target. From my experience, I must support the uncles as you so called for their understanding and gentleness with casting touch.

This is a good topic for me because I am coming to Singapore very soon and will be there only 3 nights. I have followed BW and always read the updates closely on the 4 main sauna locations (CC, KB, 10Men, Shogun). I plan to visit one sauna club each night and know that I will have to skip one.

 

I an 62 years old but still in real good shape (for my age LOL) and I'm pretty laid back. I enjoy it dark, mazes, dark groping steamrooms, gloryholes, theme nights, naked, underwear, fetish, swimwear......keeps things interesting. I am ok with any age group but probably feel the most open and relaxed and open minded with older gay bottom guys who like to suck.

 

So, from the picture I have put together from reading about all 4 saunas I would think that CruiseClub is the one that I would give a miss to. I understand that one sauna is just about to reopen after their reno (10Men???).

 

My question to you local sauna users.....have I read things correctly? From how I have described my interests, am I choosing the right 3 to visit and the right one to skip?

Anyway, Shogun is the sauna that re-opening and I think it is open now. Cruise Club is known to hang out to for and by "young" LGBT members but I guess eveyone is free to go in there.

Keybox does have a jacuzzi pool. The switch to turn on the water is on the wall at the entrance to the pool. I'm not sure when they change their water but they most certainly have a water filter system for the pool. Please do not spread malicious hearsay that undermines the efforts put in by Keybox's management. Thank you

That's what I meant too..they are so used to abalones scallops and oysters but the cheap entrance fee has caused an influx of mature uncles whom some of these divas find an eyesore as if it's a sickly place just because they are seen lying on the chairs.

I find good value in BW thanks to these forums where the LGBT scene is reviewed. There are no reviews of gay saunas in the Strait Times.

 

Good reviews necessarily include good and bad comments about the places reviewed. What matters is that they are honest.

What should be rejected are reviews that are intentionally skewed in favor or against for commercial interests, by establishments coming in as fake reviewers.

When we visit these places and have good or bad experiences, by all means we should write reviews and let everybody know.

Also sharing my thoughts:   I liked to visit keybox in the first years it was opened.  Nice young and fun crowd, attentive management, comfortable video room with two computers which worked well.  The place was a little out of the way, and I even walked several times to keybox from Chnatown and back (I like to walk, haha).

This was in the good days of Absolute, which was my first pick, with keybox the second.  At that time One-seven had started its slow decline, which I only followed for a few times before staying away from it.

 

When keybox closed for renovations it was still viable, and then came its silent disappearance when the owner was unable to renew the lease. Then for a long time the keybox website remained outrageously running like nothing had happened.  When news came around that one-seven would become keybox I had some hope that something good would come out if this. But it seems that too much of old one-seven stayed behind,  maybe impregnated in the old walls,  and too little of the old keybox revived there.  Too bad!

Early months of KB after its relocation was actually pretty good. 

I could just sit in the movie area and watch for more than an hour since the movies were pretty recent.

Now it's just what you see in your home television WITHOUT having a cable subscription.

The crowd was a mixture of fit, cute, young lads to older well-built, manly guys.

Now the ratio of younger guys to older ones are around 1:15, just like the ration of tops to bottoms. Haha...

 

There's also a few encounters with other patrons that weren't really pleasant.

 

There is this uncle who follows you around and jerks off while looking at you. It was really uncomfy. He'll jerk off behind me when I'm peeing in the urinal, he'll jerk off beside me when I go to my locker, he'll jerk off in front of me when I sit on the bench. I use to visit keybox. The previous place. I can safely say, it use to have the 2nd best young crowd. Going to cruise was expensive for me. Keybox was more affordable and with good young crowd.

I am pretty dissapointed that the crowd now have change. Its fairly on par with shougan and ten man. Where have those young crowds who were at keybox last time went to? I wonder why...

I suspect the answer is, in game-theoretic terms, the Prisoners' Dilemma. If every "hot guy" thinks no "hot guys" go there, and based on that decide not to go themselves, then no "hot guys" end up going. The Nash equilibrium settles on the 'defection' strategy.

Unfortunately for the sauna owners, giving free entry to guys below a certain age is not guaranteed to attract the young ones. If every sauna gave free entry then they can no longer compete on price; $0 is the same everywhere. They might try to compete based on facilities but I think for most patrons this is a secondary concern. So what's left? Perhaps something less tangible, like sufficiently interesting theme events or something. Whatever it is that lures the ikan bilis. Then the bigger fish that like the ikan bilis will follow.
