EnergyOne Toa Payoh will be expanding the male changing room with additional lockers to facilitate growing demand. Expansion work commences on 11 Feb 2019 and is expected to be completed by end Mar 2019. Male lockers will still be made available for usage during the period of expansion works. - from E1 Facebook post.

Looks like the renovation work in the original locker room area is almost done.   :thumb:

The place looks bigger and nicer too!

Saw the gym staff putting in 2 new hangers in each locker, and some renovation workers touching up the cabinet/lockers earlier. Almost set to be made available soon, haha.  :B)

Happy - is what we should be, always.

Notice: I DO NOT use the Chat Function in this Forum - this has always been written in my profile (and I don't read it too).

{it is unfortunate that this new Chat Function does not allow users to turn/switch off in mobile phone}

Don't like this type of locker; don't know how to put the shoes.

Actually, this isn't much of an issue. I rather they improve on 2 situations:

(1) As @earth_tone mentioned previously, they should not distribute locker keys in consecutive sequence (like giving out numbers 21, 22, 23, 24 to members who just arrived within a few minutes apart). If they gym is not crowded, they should give out at least 4-5 numbers apart (they could clearly see it when they open their drawers containing the locker keys), especially so now that there are 152 lockers in total. If only the staff could have some "simple commonsense". Haha.

(2) They should also invest in a simple and cheap scanning device so that upon arrival of any members, they just need to tap the card to "sign in/out", instead of them manually writing the time in/out. Come on, it is now the "SMART technology" era, why are they still doing manual writing, which is not cost effective? I understand they probably want to keep the membership fee low, but I don't suppose such a scanning device is that costly, and think of it in the long run, it should be more beneficial what...

Will be worthwhile if some regular here can make the suggestion to the gym manager on the locker allocation issue

for the name recording at the moment the card only uses magnetic stripe to keep the information and the rest are printed so the machine would need to have OCR capabilities akin to a photocopier to read the prined name and member ID on the front of the card which may not be fast too.

I need to give kudos to the guy who wore CK white briefs into the open jacuzzi at MF. Your hosness is power. Too bad you were startled by my appearance and decided to leave.

After that I had a foggy view of a fellow nudist in the steamroom... Lol.
