Doubt it's updated since it still mentions the group of 5 rule

Hey guys. With the tightening of SMM, SAFRA has also jumped on the bandwagon for its swimming pools. Starting today, only a maximum of 2 swimmers are allowed in a lane. Depending on which outlet, it's a matter of first-come-first served.

For Tampines, the two continuous lanes have been segregated into narrower lanes, making a total of 8 lanes. At any one time, only 16 swimmers are allowed. Anything more means you've to queue outside. Yes, like when we queued to enter E1 gyms just before they closed. There's no booking involved. You just join the queue. On the bright side, the queue moves pretty fast and the lifeguards or the gym personnel (they got redeployed) let you in on a "one-to-one patron exchange", i.e. 1 patron leaves, the next in queue enters.

I was at the pool just this evening. If you can afford it, it looks like going in the evening will reduce the chance of queuing. There were two empty lanes when I left the pool at about 7.30 p.m. And you intend to cruise, better be more cautious as the lifeguards are more proactive in making their rounds in the changing room. 😉

They had also stated per entry is not permitted to last more than 60 minutes. So there’s no chance for them to loiter. It is actually better now because you will really get to swim properly and not keep banging into others in crowded lanes. Just need more time to queue but you get a quality swim (and actually better eye candies who are serious swimmers)…

Hahaha means someone didn’t do their job. When I was at tamp pool, even the staff form E1 gym was working there too. Apparently they rearrange the staffing to the pool now since gym is closed. While the gym staff guard the entries, the lifeguards monitor the pool and check the toilets. They came in to check if people were gathering to talk without mask.

Serious or not, I am not sure but definitely no one was loitering in the shower cum changing rooms. Amongst a more senior crowd, there were admittedly a few eye candies @ TP when I had my quick swim between 4pm and 5 pm. I didn’t have to queue to enter. Neither did I notice that the staff was watching over the swimmers’ duration in the pool. So I doubt that there’s a cap of 1 hour per user.

Not sure if members will be swimming these days with raising in unlinked Covid-19 cases in the community and raining quite often in the afternoon lately.

The pool has stepped up their measures to ensure SMM such as two swimmers per lane and encouraging swimming less than 1 hour. I personally prefer that because it makes the swim smoother without avoiding people in the lane all the time. That said, I do see more veteran swimmers in the pool than usual. Guess those coming for dips and relaxation ones will choose to avoid during this period.

Yea, just back from the pool. 2 swimmers per lane and bathroom is quiet. Entire Safra just as quiet.

For those who wanna frequent SAFRA Yishun, here're some observations:

1) The head count shown on the screen is made up of the number of people in the lap pool and those in the training pool. There are 6 lanes in the lap pool, so the total will be "12 (lap pool) + 8 (training pool)". The giant number shown is for the lap pool.

2) Upon arrival / joining the queue, the lifeguard will ask if you prefer the lap or training pool. If it's the former, be prepared to wait cuz a maximum of 12 pax is allowed. If it's the latter,  you can jump ahead.

3) There are 4 standing signboards which show the preferred swimming procedure: continuous lap style instead of each person taking one lane. The problem is this is not enforced as everyone prefers sticking to their own lane. What's the point then by putting up the signboards?

4) The changing room is not as well-ventilated as the Tampines one since it's much smaller. But the shower cubicles are conducive...
