Thanks for replying. Yes, they usually would put the barricade when they are cleaning/washing (no one would be there also).

I really hope it wasn't malfunction as it was working fine the day before, haha.

yeah hope not... if not feels like safra tpy facilities and amenities standards are going down the drain

@ellipsis @Dashy_Boy so it probably was closed yesterday due 'cleaning/washing'... because it is working well today! YAY!!   🎊

Enjoyed my favourite relaxation after the gym session earlier.   :D

Yeah, I agree.

While our gym membership fee paid should focus on gym equipment/facilities provided, but since they put in jacuzzi/steam room as a package, they should ensure all facilities are working well.

[in fact, certain gym equipment was not working too]

Happy - is what we should be, always.

Now they don't even give out two towels, only one. I feel kinda shortchanged. How is it ok to change their system just because they want to. Have to exchange the used one for a new one, and max one exchange per visit per person.

Hmm, which branch are you referring to @earth_tone?

It is not the case in Toa Payoh though, can still just take 2 towels on your own.

Hmmm i dont think it's a bad thing. I think 1 towel for workout and then getting another towel to shower is not unreasonable.

The cost for an individual to go get 1 more towel is not huge for the savings they might get if they have to wash 2 towels for every single person who may or may not use the gym floor. Yup so though inconvenient but it's for an obvious good reason ba

@sphere At CCK and Tampines so far.

@Dashy_Boy  I do return unused towel or try to keep to just one towel per visit, such initiative is good for many reasons, I agree but I feel that it should be out of my own accord and not be imposed upon loh. Especially when no explanation was given to this change (did anyone receive any email notifications?) the gym just decide that they would implement the new system w/o even seeking members' opinion. Ok, you may think it's dramatic to send notifications just for restricting towels but it is actually the proper way to do business.

We had subscribed to their membership weighing many factors so now the past few marketing drives urging members to sign up for 12 to 24 month packages appear to be very scammy. To be honest, there's a slight stench of California Fuckness in such management style, their lack of transparency, updates and respect to customers who had paid to use their facilities, is off-putting. I know this is an army affiliated gym, but they're not operating inside the camps so don't treat the people who pay their salary like soldiers at their beck and call. Don't forget that we can still choose to go ActiveSG sport centre too, EnergyOne has not monopolise the market yet.

Not saying that we should be calculative on every single change of rules, but their management has to be more sensitive to their decision making. Cannot you say change means change, what is this 1971?

Eh? Tampines? I’ve been asking for two towels sometimes, even today and was not rejected. I even changed a towel after swim and after gym to ensure I have two fresh towels thereafter. All with no questions asked…

I think they issue one towel at check in just so as to ensure that there are enough to give out to everyone who checks in. If u need another one, just ask and they will give. Don't even have to return the first one to exchange for the second one. That's my experience so far at CCK. Same at Jurong.

TPY E1 steam room still down. Don't think it will be fixed anytime soon.

Anyway, don't bother using this one, it is a breeding ground for germs.

Has anyone been to CCK recently, their steam room available to use yet?

Oh yeah, no one at TPY tried to impose that one towel rule on me haha. Nice.

😊

TPY E1 Jacuzzi

28/8 Monday 3pm to 4pm

Kinda unexpected but.. yah

hope I'll see you again and I think I will

Finally see maintenance guys fixing the steam room @TPY last night. Hopefully will be up soon or up by now.

So they were fixng/repairing on Thursday night, I wasn't there yesterday (Friday) and nobody else said anything, presumably it was still down yesterday?

Field report for today: the steam room is .......... finally back in 'action', haha.

However, guys, please be very careful as the steam is very slippery, felt like stepping on oily floor (possibly was the machinery oil from the repair?). Rinsing did not wash it off by the way. Just be careful!
