UOL degree does not need to go to SIM to take mah. SIM, Stansfield and some other private schs are the facilitors of the degree. they provide sort of tutitions. meaning, all these students will eventually gather to 1 venue to take the exam.

You must check hor, see if the degree is recognised. Some degrees Govt and Stat Board dont recongise, so even if you graduate you apply for civil servant cannot get accepted. Must make your $$$$$$$$$$$ worth.......

UOL is widely recognised in Singapore. even if the accounting graduates of UOL do not work in government, the accounting Big 4 always want fresh UOL graduates for their entry level positions. besides, i have heard before from seniors that UOL graduates work in the government or statutory board, however, some government bodies may not accept degrees awarded through distance learning.

You got to be prepared as UOL is a tough course to pass. We only take our exam papers once a year and there is no assignments or projects to help you scrap by. If you want a degree that is well known, UOL is a good choice. If you just want a normal degree, I would recommend RMIT or UNISIM. Don't suffer like me now. Hahaha

I would say its better to go to the private sector if you have a private degree. Somehow even if you are capable but armed with a private degree in the public sector, you might not go far. Its that realistic in the public sector. Having said that, you also have to understand that its more than just that piece of paper out in the workforce. :)
