Breaking news... my favorite gay bloggers http://www.tomandlorenzo.com has decided to stop watching / recapping Glee after the latest episode. They r done with watching gay people cry every week.

Here some quotes from their blog.

And what makes this so depressing for us is that when Ryan Murphy first decided to address the lives of gay teens, he started off in the best way possible: by giving them something to dream about.

What happened, Ryan? When did you decide giving gay kids the message that their lives had value and potential wasn’t the way to go and defining them as victims was a great idea? When did this show become so determined NOT to be fun or uplifting or aspirational anymore? How many times do we have to watch the tears fill Kurt’s eyes? And boy do we miss the Kurt who talked like a bitchy, angry 16-year-old rather than the Kurt we have now, who talks like a 40-year-old grief counselor.

Okay, maybe we did shit all over it a little. Look, we can walk away from a show when it stops giving us what we liked in the first place. If Glee continues on, more power to it. We hope its fans continue to get something out of it, but for us, we’re done with watching gay people cry every week.

It's sad because a lot of shows that depict gay stroylines end up in some sort of a tragedy. It is getting tiring to see such things.

**possible spoilers below**

In Emmerdale, Jackson got in to an accident, then got ran over by a FREAKING TRAIN, and was permanently paralyzed from the neck down. He then forced his lover to kill him.

In Fisica o Quimica, Fer ends up getting shot after trying to convince a distressed school-shooter to calm down and drop the gun.

It's annoying to be represented by such tragic, victimizing storylines for the world to see. I understand that there is still ignorance, and that there is still hatred against Homosexuals, but shouldn't these storylines show that it is okay to love who you want to love without fear of being ostracized by your community? Yet we see Kurt getting bullied to the point where he has to transfer. We see Santana publicly humiliated by someone running for GOVERNOR. Then now we see Karofsky make a suicide attempt.

So what kind of message should a teenager who is questioning his/her sexuality take from this? That you should just be straight and be able to be happy like Finn and Rachel? That if you respond to your sexual attraction to someone of the same sex, you will end up suffering some sort of cruel, horrible fate?

There needs to be a show that depicts a homosexual storyline positively. They need to stop making homosexuality a big deal and start normalizing it as something that you can act on without fearing for your freaking life.

the writing and the acting is much better than glee. and the original songs (so far) are all brilliant in that they are supposedly for the new marilyn musical but somehow also reflect what the characters are going through.

there are current pop hits covered by the stars too (like glee) and while some work and some don't (so far) most have been a better fit than the average glee song. and it is squarely aimed at adults rather than teens.

i'm tempted to agree with the bloggers imchaser quoted as well as what theAntisen said above.

but what really went through my mind as i was watching this latest episode with the gay teen suicide was "oh! maybe now singapore tv will show a gay storyline!".

cos that's the only kind of story line they can show....

+++

rachel bores me to tears.

sebastian thrills me more than blaine does.

if kurt gets together with karofsky i might just stop watching.

i want more mike and tina

i want more samcedes

i want more broadway rather than pop. (well 80s pop is still ok)

i want plots from one season and episode to knit well with plots from other seasons and episodes. (otherwise what is the point of being able to quote chapter and verse?)

i want the return of brittanisms. What's happened to them?

makes you wonder why i still watch right?

where is High School Musical 4 when you need it? (Sharpay does NOT count)

singapore media would never be as liberal as the states.

I watch glee for one too many reasons!

I don't know about you but I think it's good that glee exposes me to all these great songs I've never heard before, be it from broadway, from the 80s or from all kinds of genres, especially for people like me from my generation born in the 1990s.

It's like now I won't look completely lost when my dad asks me one day which michael jackson song I like the most or if I've ever heard of journey before (why yes I have dad)

storylines wise I've learnt that as long as you don't be too critical the show is always worth watching. sure sometimes it's completely biased and tackles the gay issues way too much but which other shows do?

and also the directors and writers do fantastic jobs on character development. im thinking along the lines of brittany pierce, lauren zizes (SHE NEEDS TO COME BACK) and mike chang, once very background characters to now relatively very distinct figures in the show

and tell me which other shows have the opportunity and grace to get guest stars like gwyneth paltrow, neil patrick harris, ricky martin, josh groban or olivia newton john, heavyweight stars in their own right to act and sing?

seriously glee is a fantastic show. season 3 has so far been great to watch (more story arcs!) and i'll be very sad the day the show gets cancelled.

I know everyone seems to be rooting for Karen in the show but for me, the more I watch the show, the more I dunno who to root for, cos Ivy has factors that makes me root for her too! I seriously think it takes great chops from both Katherine and Megan to create such great characters that makes you wanna cheer & root for both of them!

What I liked about the show is its somewhat close to reality on the process that goes to mounting a show that hopefully ends up on Broadway. I have friends who are actors/actresses and what I do admire about them is their ability to deal with rejections on a daily basis. Many of them worked as waiters, personal trainers, etc. get paid very little in order for that one day that they may make it on Broadway. Some even though are in the cast of a show, still have to support themselves by working other day jobs. Yet it is their unfailing belief in themselves that they can do it that keeps them going on, dealing with rejections daily.

Love.

ikr!!

it's really disheartening when my friends refuse to give the show a chance because they thought it's too high school musical but teen pregnancy? drugs? gay issues? alcoholism? sex? religion? disability? high school musical where got so racy?

plus adding to the point of comparing with heroes, glee has way too many accolades be it the awards shows like emmys or globes, billboard charts milestones or sold out concerts. and whenever one episode's out there's always something trending on twitter. that's really saying something.

so everyone stop complaining and continue or start watching! there has been far too many stupid shows lately but glee isn't one of them

but you have to admit, the plot in Glee is getting shakier and less solid as each season airs.

anyway, I was really shocked by Karofsky's suicide; didn't expect Glee to pull this, but I think it reflects quite realistically of society. Anyway, I feel a little annoyed they're using characters for the seemingly obvious "functions" now; Santana to do the bitching, Kurt to do the counselor talk, etc... i.e. stale. The writing needs to be shaken up.

And don't air The Glee Project if your winners are just gonna be there to fill the numbers up, lol.

Do your homework. When Heroes came out it got rave reviews and multiple awards as well. Glee havent been getting any since season 1.

And its all abt viewership ratings in US. Their numbers r very competitive. It is what decide whether a show renew their season or their last. Like Heroes, Glee's viewership has been declining to almost double compare to season 1. Its not whether u like it or not. I love Glee too but nowadays im more looking forward to Modern Family every week. I dunno why really i cant explain what goes wrong. I love Doll House too but it cant even survive an entire season.

I've given up trying to defend the show for some time now. Everything and everyone has its own share of ravers and haters. For every iPhone fanatic out there, there is always someone who HATES it to the core. For every Meryl Streep fan, there is someone out there who boycotts her films. We can't please everyone. Even if a film wins an Oscar or a song wins a Grammy or if a show like Glee has rave reviews from the critics, there will always be people out there who hates and nitpicks at them. So now for me, as long as I love the show, I don't really care what other people think of the show. I'd just watch it and enjoy it on my own or with the company of friends and family who too share my love for the show.

Omgosh, Glee is so gay, with the new character Wade aka Unique appearance in the latest episode, they finally completed the T in LGBT.

Just caught the season finale! Makes me wanna buy the soundtrack IMMEDIATELY and wish I could catch "Bombshell" on the stage as the musical itself!

Not going to happen, though I did go see Megan Hilty in a role made famous by Marilyn last week, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. :) She was amazing.

Really LOVED the finale!!!! I really loved how they tied the 1st original song "Let Me Be Your Star" for the show and the final song "Don't Forget Me" together with the same long note for "Choose Me!!!!" and "Take Care!!!!" and how the final line went from "Let me be your star" to "Let me be the star"!

I love you!!! Golden Girls are great! Great writing, great acting and great cast! This show abt old ladies were so ahead of its time, its one of the first shows ever to showcase gays and stress that its ok to be gay and that show is abt 30 years old! Most of the shows u mentioned are posted at www.ytepisodes.con for viewing. I also love most shows by David E Kelly for its sitcoms like Northen Exposure, Picket Fences and ally mcbeal.
