Guest Dancing Around A Long Pole
On 2/20/2020 at 3:18 PM, Steve5380 said: A candidate's activism for minorities should get a minority of attention. The crucial issues are those that affect THE WHOLE population. Like health care, the redistribution of wealth to the needy, the fight against climate change. Too many minorities base their vote on support for their minority, and in this way they often vote against their own interests. Like the case of African Americans voting for Hillary instead of Bernie, and when Hillary was nominated she lost to Trump. Bernie would not have lost so easily. Buttigieg shares the same ideals as Sanders, including Medicare for All. But besides idealism he is also pragmatic. He realizes that Congress will not pass the "healthcare for all" proposal and he proposes an initial "Medicare for those who chose it". There is NOTHING wrong with his proposal, similar to the "public option" other candidates support. As we saw in the last debate yesterday in Nevada, Sanders treats Buttigieg with a lot of respect, accepting that they must "debate" each other since the occasion requires it. I would not be surprised that if any of the two wins, the other will be offered a partnership or an important position in the administration. I will be satisfied if either of them wins Yes, I followed Pete since he became a public figure exploring his candidacy. Before that, nobody and surely including you, had any inkling of his existence. Asian-Americans, Native-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Jewish Americans, African Americans, Women-Americans, LGBTQ-Americans, White-supremacist-Americans, American Veterans, Disabled-Americans ... and the list is nearly infinite. The best vote is the one that leaves aside race, ethnicity, orientations, religiousness, and cares primarily for the important issues awaiting solution in the country, which are many! Typical white privilege mentality. Make the minorities wait forever, while the whites continue to enjoy all of the benefits, and never share them. A good president would try to handle all of a country's problems, and not just a few, which he or she thinks the white "majority" of the population care about. The US government is constantly giving huge tax cuts to billionaires who don't need them, when just a fraction of that money could have solved all of the problems plaguing 99% of the population, rather than helping a small few like Trump. Also, you admit now that have only been following Buttigieg's political career since last year when he started to run for president, not in 2010 when he ran for Indiana state treasurer. That is not the beginning. You have a bad habit of being very loose with your words, typing things that can easily be proven not to be true, and then attacking anyone who points this out later. If you want sympathy on an Asian website, you need to type your thoughts more honestly, admit when you make mistakes, and support the Asians in your own country. Buttigieg is also the kind of politician that Sanders most likely hates, considering he has been buddies with Facebook fascist Zuckerberg for almost 20 years, and enjoys his main base of support from Silicon Valley billionaires who present him in a pretty little marketing package. Oh look he's young and worked in government, but not in Washington, and he served in the military, briefly, and he's gay, but doesn't come across as gay, so even old homophobes can feel okay voting for him. The "best vote" is one that cares about EVERY issue.
Guest Steve
Widow Gertrude Irwin, 93, says her husband James Benson Irwin was sexually assaulted while he was part of the ninth manned mission in the United States’ Apollo program and the fourth to land on the Moon. Irwin says her husband often complained about how his NASA partner would address sexual subjects and touch him in an inappropriate fashion during the 11-day-long trip. “Once Irwin told me how David kept masturbating and droplets of semen floated all across the shuttle,” she recounted, visibly disgusted. https://worldnewsdailyreport.com/wife-of-apollo-15-astronaut-claims-her-husband-was-raped-on-the-moon

Typical anti-white mentality + totally wrong ideas about minority vs. majority. An American president today should give priority to improving health care, which affects majorities and minorities, and to repeal draconian immigration policies that hurt refugees. And fair redistribution of wealth is also a pro-minority mentality by progressive whites like Sanders, Buttigieg, Warren, even Biden. So... what you wrote makes no sense! 4 hours ago, Guest Dancing Around A Long Pole said: Also, you admit now that have only been following Buttigieg's political career since last year when he started to run for president, not in 2010 when he ran for Indiana state treasurer. Buttigieg's political career on the national level DID START with his exploration about running for president. There are tens of thousands of "political careers" of people running for all sort of elective positions. It does not make sense for someone to take notice of a "political career" for Indiana state treasurer, unless he lives in Indiana. I don't live there. You have a bad habit of being wrong on so many fronts, showing that you are good for nothing but dancing around long poles, if at all! I don't need your Asian sympathy, I have all the sympathy I need and my own sympathy is not conditioned by ethnicity, place of origin. I also have friends in Silicon Valley and I know perfectly well the type of person who works creatively there. Zuckerberg with all his money is still a person worth being befriended with. Both he and Buttigieg having attended Harvard makes them an intelligent class of persons, and it is a pleasure to interact with intelligent people. Buttigieg has been quite critical of the money and power of Zuckerberg and critical of many other Silicon Valley enterprises, so he is not corrupted by that environment. You seem to be quite envious of Buttigieg. Perhaps because he is gay but doesn't come across as gay? Or because he has a successful marriage? Or because he is so courageous? . Guest Superimposed Yourself
Senator Warren has won the las two debates and tore Mayor Bloomberg a new butthole in both instances for thinking he can waltz in with his money and buy the Democratic nomination after a career spent mistreating women and minorities. We will see if that gives her new momentum in South Carolina, where Vice President Biden will probably win to give his faltering campaign a glimmer of hope, and then it's off to Super Tuesday. I have to agree with Dancing Around A Long Pole's assessment of Mayor Buttigieg's friendship with Facebook Zuckerberg. Having gone to Harvard doesn't make him a wonderful person. Zuckerberg is one of the biggest reasons Donald Trump got elected, because he let Facebook publish thousands of false stories bashing Hillary Clinton in 2016 knowing they were the original fake news, and already said that he plans to do it again. Billionaires like Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, Oracle's Larry Ellison (major Trump fundraiser), and PayPal's Peter Thiel (major Trump supporter) are trying to use their money to keep regular people locked out of real success. Their support of Buttigieg (in case their first choice Trump goes too far) shows exactly where the ex-mayor stands. He represents the same failed policies that Senator Sanders has been complaining about for 30 years. Expressing support for both Sanders and Buttigieg makes no sense. Sanders wants to end the status quo. Buttigieg (as well as Biden, Bloomberg, and Senator Klobuchar) wants to do as little as possible to deliver change that can help regular people. Buttigieg accused Sanders of wanting to burn down the party in each of the last two debates, which made Sanders visibly angry, so there is little affinity or "respect" between them. Just because Buttigieg is gay is not a qualification to be President of the world's most powerful country (at least until Trump finishes executing Russia's plan to reverse the outcome of the Cold War). The corrupt "businessman" (actually professional con artist) Trump wasn't and still isn't qualified either. But it takes more than being a small city mayor and making speeches. The US needs a sweeping change or the country is done. While it's nice that Buttigieg's run can inspire gay people, he's not the change the world needs, he's more of the same but gay. America has had a gay president before anyway (James Buchanan) and his life partner briefly served as VP in the previous administration (William King). It was never public knowledge during the 1850s, of course, but history has uncovered that those two were almost certainly a longterm DC power couple. People need to separate their hearts from their heads. Buttigieg can't be elected president right now and this is no year to be experimenting. The most important issue is to get rid of Trump before he turns the US into a dictatorship, starts World War III, or both. I dont even know if Sanders can win, but he is the only choice for the sweeping change that is needed, with Warren next. Any of the others would only leave the 1% in control. Having gone to Harvard does not make a person an elitist who favors the rich and powerful either. It its a sign that the person has what it takes to be accepted into Harvard. Do you have the capacity to do that? Sanders is not the only one who wants to end the status quo. Buttigieg, Warren, even Klobuchar want the same thing. Pete is quite a bit in line with the ideals of Sanders, and the reason he attacks Sanders now is part of his job as aspiring candidate to prevail over him. And I think that the reason he wants to prevail over his long time idol is that he honestly believes that Sanders' Medicare for all is too extreme. And he sees in this his opportunity to prevail as more moderate. I think that the ideal ticket is Sanders as president and Buttigieg his running partner. Any concern about Bernie's age, health, and the risk that he may die during his term is eliminated by having a vice president who is young and with the same ideology as him, and any concern that Bernie will be too extreme is moderated by him having a running mate who is more pragmatic and equally assertive. . Guest Dancing Around A Long Pole
Dear Moderators (@G_M, @HendryTan, etc.) ... Why has the other thread about former mayor Buttigieg been completely deleted? In fact, a lot of posts have been getting deleted lately. If one of you, or another moderator, felt the other thread was redundant, you could have simply merged it into this thread, rather than deleting the entire topic. If somebody started flaming in that thread, which I would not have seen since I had not come to Blowing Wind for several days, the solution is not to delete the entire thread. That only lets the flaming troll ruin things for everybody else. Grab the bad posts and move them to the "Neverending" thread in the Flaming Room. Please leave the rest intact. While understanding very well that moderating is not an easy job, and flaming trolls make it even less fun, please stop letting him/them trick you into deleting entire threads. There was a decent discussion in the other thread about former mayor Buttigieg. He is making modern US history, in a sense, though he will likely drop out on Wednesday. At least Buttigieg came out while in office as mayor, won his second term as openly gay, and opened people's eyes to new possibilities. Guest Lachrymosed Yourself
Another politician from America who may soon be coming out of the closet is Andrew Gillum, the former mayor of Tallahassee who lost a close election for governor of Florida in 2018, and had been considered a potential Vice Presidential choice for Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders. Miami police found him extremely drunk and puking nonstop in the toilet of a hotel room with two other men and three bags of meth. It was later revealed that one of the men is a professional gay male escort, who fell unconscious, which prompted the third guy to call for an ambulance. Gillum claims he was in Miami for a wedding but the details of this incident make that seem unlikely. He now says he's been depressed since losing the election for governor and will go get treated for alcohol abuse. I should mention he's married to a very lovely wife and has three cute young children, but it seems like he has been in the closet for the sake of his political career, and this reckless incident just flushed all of his potential down the toilet along with his puke. He's very lucky the police didn't arrest him like any other black man caught in a similar situation.

Garfield Morgan, 54, and his 36 year old accomplice friend Kim Gorton are both career burglars, having stolen from hundreds of homes in their lives. But it’s unlikely they’ll go back to crime after the nasty episode they experienced in the home of one Florida man … Harry Harrington is 6’7″ and weighs over 300 lbs. It’s pure muscle. He’s a notorious gay s*x predator who has served time in jail for numerous sexual assaults. An aggressive and predatory offender, he’s not the kind of man you want to annoy. But that’s just what Morgan and Gorton did that fateful night. Harrington, known as ‘The Wolfman,‘ easily overpowered the men, tied them up and assaulted them for five full days. Police only intervened after a neighbor heard the men’s cries for help and called them. As you can see from their mug shots below, the men were extremely traumatized by their ordeal. What they went through is inexcusable, but many online commentators are saying that they deserved some kind of retribution for their crimes. Though we tend to think that a spell in prison is probably more fair. Five days of being raped by a man mountain is a bit much, isn’t it? “They broke in my front door, so I broke in their back doors!” The Wolfman is said to told police on his arrest. The men face burglary charges, while Harrington is looking at another stretch inside for his actions. Even after 3½ years ... that sentence remains the ... BEST CONFESSION EVER I actually wonder how he is doing back in jail again.

Cool down your skepticism and see how social progress is made in this world. Wild fantasies of no change have no basis on reality. Unless the skeptics have a working crystal ball. . Guest We are muslim cuntry
Singapore mindset is stuck in a rut. Education minister's calibre also stuck there. Sad... The only future for me as a gay chinese is to convert to islam, and get married to a muslim woman. I like muslim food anyway.

Why? Are Muslim women hotter than Chinese women? (I ask because I have no experience here)

InBangkok
I guess Taiwan is not regarded as South East Asia but it was the first Asan country to legalise gay marriage over a year ago. I never believed this bill would ever be passed in Thailand. There is still a huge degree of discrimination against gay men here, especially in the professions. Being known as gay can hinder promotion and many professional gays are not prepared to be known as gay. The bill still has to be approved by the full parliament where there will be a lot of opposition. Perhaps if it does become law, Vietnam will be next. It has been discussing a same sex marriage bill for years. Public same sex marriages are permitted there but presently carry no legal weight. Torrent
To quote my thai friend, gay marriage has been legal in Thailand for quite some time. This news you are reading only allows more legal benefits as a gay couple, which they previously had almost none.

jiriki
Thailand is not allowing same sex marriage but just allowing civil unions between people of same sex. The effect may or may not be equivalent to recognising same sex marriage but it’s still a positive step nonetheless, officially recognising the right of homosexuals to form legally recognised unions with each other if they wish to. Guest Guest
Not surprising that Thailand will be the first in SEA to recognise, next will most likely be Vietnam. Singapore? I think can wait long long
