突然ですが、Lijiangへ行くことにしました。観光スポットが多いと言われるLijiang（麗江）は、息をのむほどの景色が見られて、レラックスして心と体を癒せるところとよく知られています。メインにする所はLijiangなんですが時間があったらその周りのDaliとkunmingへ寄っていってもいいのではないかと思います。それで、たった数時間のバスでLijiangから世界有名なShangri-laまで行けます。一人では、ちょっと寂しくて不安な気持ちで、誰か一緒に気軽に行っていただければなと考えております。

Dear All,

I have just decided that I would like to take a trip to Kunming. Mainly, I would like to visit Lijiang. It is a few hours on a bus from the world famous Shangri-la. Lijiang is a city well-known for her breathtaking scenery and historic charms. This wonderful old town provides the opportunity for relaxation and healing for the body and soul. Naturally, it will also be great fun to stop by Dali and Kunming as well. I am looking for an easy-going travel companion. That way, it is safer and more economical for the both of us.

u can get much cheaper accommodation at dali & lijiang with <$10/night. i suggest spend more days at lijiang & less days at both dali + kun ming. if time permitted very worth to pass zhongdian a visit.

I am just worried that Zhongdian is closed in December. Been warned that it gets so cold that usually it is not opened then. Did you enjoy the trip?

Zhongdian is opened, just that it is very cold, and the scenery may not be the best. But it is still worth a visit.

Thanks Guest! I think I would be spending time mainly in Lijiang but am opened to all other options. I understand that traveling in China is very different from traveling in Japan which is why I think it might be a better idea to go in pair. Any interested party?

no need to worry shiro. lijiang n zhongdian is very safe to travel by urself. i travel alone there too last time. the people there r very friendly & helpful. i m sure u'll able to feel their warm hospitality once u step onto the land. enjoy ur trip!

August seems like a nice time to go. I would have chosen to go in late Spring or Summer if my work schedule had allowed. I could only leave in December. It might be a bit cold but I am sure the sight would more than make up for it? How long will you be there? Have a good trip!

hmmm gonna be cold as hell and flights may get cancelled due to unforeseen weather though.

LOL but nothing beats the -35 deg weather I used to experience in Changchun and Shenyang

Nov tixs on Tiger is dirt cheap too .... to certain locations lol

anyways I am interested to go.

I think it's China Eastern.. Accomadation is listed as 4 & 5 stars...

You are right about traveling in winter for its charm. I would have preferred summer or late spring though. Due to my work's schedule, I will have to settle for December. I think for $1100, it is pretty reasonable since hotel accommodation is included.

mine should be consider autumn.. was considering Zhang Jia Jie or Beijing, but conclusion I took Kunming/Dali/Shangrila/Lijiang..

but 1 thing bad is need to travel wif grp... hopefully it's small 1 wif fun ppl... if whole bus of ppl, definitely a lot of problems... hahahaha...

When in LiJiang, remember to go up to the mountain to watch the 印象丽江 Yin Xiang Li Jiang. Don't miss it. It's breath-taking !

Since you have came so far, when in Shangrila, do climb up to the highest mountain tip at >4600 metre above sea level. You will be tearing when reached there. But, becareful if you have high-altitude-sickness.

1. li jiang in yunnan is a picturesque ancient town in yunnan

2. the other li jiang is a river/stream in kweilin

there are miles apart and different-township vs river

Thanks for your interest. Perhaps you might like to google first to understand more about China and maybe later decide your final itinerary. I am pretty open to suggestions but I am restricting my options to nice scenery and countryside. Not exactly keen in visiting bustling cities. Guilin and Jiuzaigou are two very nice places to consider.

I touched Sze Chuan+Jiuzhaigou & Shanghai+Wu Zhen+Suzhou+Hangzhou, but this Yunnan trip is the best of my China trips. Worth to go....

yap, went on a tour... tats y there are itinenaries like Silk Museum, etc too... problem wif tours are of course need to wake up very early, need to go a lot of shopping areas, need to cooperate wif ur grp, etc...

but of course gd things r no need to plan, tour leader will do everything for u etc...

i took CTC and i think their service is gd... the tour leader help to check in @ all airports...

i see the other tours wif the same itinenaries... the group did the check in themselves...

next yr i will tackle Zhangjiajie...

btw, 3yrs later, Nv Er Guo's roads will be ok... can go there...

I appreciate your response but like I mentioned earlier, this is a personal arrangement which I felt would be best done via email. I don't believe in random call for 'any' companion. It would be rude to both the party responding and to myself too, don't you think? There should be discussions on interests, preferences and so forth privately.

Sorry it's been a while. I eventually went to Taiwan for 18 days instead. The Taroko Gourge was spectacular.

We decided to spend 4 nights there in the Silk Taroko Hotel. It was a five star hotel and worth every cent!
