Guest TED
so if you change your clothes at the lockers or have fun at the room or TV area... you will be captured in CCTVs... is that for security purpose also... ;

Guest Beef Cub
Ok. Since no one can give me any guidance, I plucked up the courage and went for my virgin sauna tour anyway. It was a bit hard to find the door as it was happily hidden behind some clothes racks. Just need to pay 12 bucks per entry and tell them some lame name for entry. I think you can even get away with SpongeBob. Counter staff was pleasant enough. The showers were teeny. For a beefy muscle guy, I can't shower properly without knocking into someone... oh wait, or was it designed like this? Anyway, quite a few discoveries - I think there was about 30-40 guys and about 60% was not appealing. The rest of the playable crowd was probably between 30 to 40ish. There were only a handful of younger guys 20s to 30ish, say about 5 including myself. I explored the upstairs first and there were a couple of rooms, a large outdoor area and a TV lounge - I can hear pple snoring at the outdoor area and the rooms. For a sauna, this was not what I imagined it to be. And the rooms.... er... I was rather appalled by the hygiene level. The mattresses were on the floor and there were tissues everywhere. I wasn't feeling it and I can't picture myself using the rooms either. Went downstairs to the maze and for a sauna virgin, it is rather intimidating. The entrance had some light so it was ok, you can see roughly see the guys' faces and bodies. Some hands groping me on the way in, but it's fine. Just gently pushed their hands away and inward I went. But once you get to the inner sanctum, it was pitch dark. Strangely that was where all the guys were... kind of reminded me of an Alien colony.. As it was too dark, I didn't dare to go in, you can't make out the guys' faces at all except for the silhouettes, so I was not sure who (or what) was lurking inside. Around the maze I went a couple of rounds, and again, the state of the rooms were rather appalling. I didn't dare to sit on the stools either since everyone was nude and it seems like everyone sat there at least once. The few young guys were probably attracted to one another, so I just had a bit of groping fun with some of them whilst standing in the rooms. I know they wanted to do more, but I just couldn't given the state of the rooms and I was rather excited being my virgin visit. So it was just some groping and touching fun and I can tell they were rather disappointed coz they sure looked horny. I am not sure if this is fair, but I did get some bug bites on my hands which are itching like hell now. And I didn't even touch anything, apart from the curtains and some guys' dicks. I think there may actually be some truth in the hygiene factor at this place as there is a funky smell as well. The conclusion is that I don't think this is the place for a young beefy cub, as the crowd is towards the mature side, which is ok and I do like mature guys. If you take out the 60% of the CMIs, the rest are still tolerable. And the few younger guys were actually pretty cute too. I just wish they would make cleanliness a priority, it's really a mood killer. Hope this is useful for future visitors like myself.

abang
I have not stepped in Shogun for quite some time. For $12, I would say, it is still ok lah.One thing for sure, it is not a place you would expect quality.. although there is always quantity. And it had never advertised itself as a place for young hunks. It is still a place to relax and chill. But a friend of mine told me that at times before midnight, the movie screening stops abruptly..anyone cares to confirm? gz69a
In fairness to Shogun, here are my views. I have been visiting it more often than a nearby spa: - The staff cleans and mops the floor regularly. I was there on Friday and saw that myself. At the nearby spa, they only go around to pick up the trash. - Mattresses on floors are actually better than on wooden frames. No bed bugs and easy to mop and clean.. - Shogun has indoor and outdoor areas and different choices of TV entertainment (English and Mandarin). - The new layout on the entry floor is better than previously. As Clients it helps if we clean up after using the room i.e. put the trash in the bin, wipe the mattress if we have stained it. I do that. And I also do a wipe down before I use the mattress. - Some idiots either have leaking bladders or just selfish. They urinate in the steam room but it is a matter of informing the staff. There is a long hose just outside. I am disgusted with selfish patrons who use the facility as if it is a public toilet. Overall, I like the ambiance. As for the complaint on bed-bugs, I have not encountered any. But it is easy for Shogun to buy an odourless Baygon and spray all over the bed-frame in the TV room and also on the underside of all the sofas. Cheap and definitely effective

Guest Fitbod guest
While it is true that shogun may have lots of blue collared workers with perhaps a gce o level .. I personally have met lawyer.. ASEAN scholar.. Accountant ..Musician .. Teacher .. Etc.. Some may appear like ah bengs but once you get to really talk with them.. You will be surprised at how intellectual and well mannered and knowledgeable they are .For me I like shogun ambience and friendly atmosphere .. The pple are not so stuck up.In other saunas there are also clients with less than a uni degree too.. So we can't really use this as a gauge. There are some hunks with pretty faces who are equally not well educated too and when they speak.. U can really tell much abt their background. Btw I have never been bitten by any bed bugs .Also to add not all of the patrons there who are less educated cannot communicate with you or have bad manners. So pls do not be so judgemental .. Does it mean those popular saunas have very high class patrons who are well mannered other than having a good look and body or are they merely bimbos when they speak but are just empty vessels?I beg to differ from my personal experience in those popular saunas too.Whatever it is if you don't like then just don't go.. Shogun will still function with one less patron like you too.

gz69a
Oh dear, I go to the spa for fun and not to do a demographic research. Blue, White, whatever is the color matters little. I am not there to find out who they are and what work they do. What matters is whether they have good oral hygiene and are in my like category. Foul breath or those who smoke odour puts me off and I decline them. I meet up on occasion with a great hunk who once represented Spore in Manhunt...still in great hunk condition. And he is tertiary educated but I will not disclose more. And I have great fun there as well as in other spas. Shogun is a business that serves our needs. Go and try public venues and risk the danger with the Law. The government has allowed gay spas, Hotels 81 and home masseurs because they know what people needs besides working hard. We need to pump hard too...LOL.

Guest Guest
The feel and facilities of this place catered to the living poor (those earn less than $1500/month). If you treasure your health please use your own towel instead of their stinky and yellowish towel which is only good enough to clean my engine's dip stick. gz69a
Guest has an agenda to run down Shogun. The towels at Shogun are better than those of One Seven (some really torn and tattered) and better than a nearby spa. I have been to both and can comment. Guest has a weird dislike for the workmen category and he is really biased. Maybe he wants to make an appointment at Shogun and present his arguments about the so-called 'stinky and yellowish towels'. It is outrageous to make sweeping remarks. I had a swell time on a quick in-out visit to Shogun today. Was there for less than an hour and received one of my best bj in months . Thanks to that smiling guy I met at the showers. His tongue was magic and lifted me to a high that I have not experienced for a long time. And he proceeded down to south pole with his probing tongue. And I always liked to end with a jo and he obliged in a way that I enjoyed. The wet kiss was aah... Thanks buddy.
Guest Guest
I am not the Guest who posted the towel issue. There seem to be a gay Mystique in cyberspace morphing into guest who posted the worker issue.I am the Guest who posted the workmen issue.I have to agree that in my memory, Shogun has the best, fluffy and cleanest towel compared to many others. GachiMuchi
EL, the security camera issue had been discussed year ago. (go read back on earlier post) You either buy the reason given or not. If Shogun management is the kind that does such things, I am sure, customers would have come across it long time ago and they wouldn't have survived for the last 12 years. You can be gay and can be closeted, but if you are going to be paranoid, then you really must be living a really sad life. As paying customers, if the conditions is not to your liking, you can always bring it up to the management. If they don't take any action, you are free to decide if you want to continue to patronise or not to. There is no need to bad mouth an establishment with lies and try to create doubts by highlighting certain "known" issues, like the camera. If you have an agenda and are trying to bring down an establishment for political gain or some personal grudge that you have with the boss. Then, I am saying you will get your just dessert when the time comes, because what goes around, comes around. Beware the bad Karma you are sowing. I'm sure his computer, disk, wherever he stores it is not kept in a bank vault? What if it fell to the wrong hands? All of a sudden we may find many many videos from Singapore spa in xtube. abang
I am not a business partner of Shogun or any gay establishment.I am just a mere patron. Breaking even or making a profit is the utmost importance issue to tackle. The management at Shogun has to ensure that they provide a relaxing and SAFE premise for all.The installation of CCTV is therefore justified. Just in case you wonder whether the images captured will land on UNSAFE hands..Please allow me to assure you that with that type of POOR lighting, everything will be grainy..Those of us who use gym facilities are more likely victim of locker-room video because the lighting is much much brighter. So fear not.... Shogun has been around for ages. There are many loyal patrons who follow them since its first inception years ago... from its humble beginnings to where it is now.So if anyone has any construction comments, approach the management.Drop a written note to them... I am sure for business longevity, they listen, they assess and if viable, they change...

My concern is other than the above-mentioned.In my distant memory, I had never encountered any bed bugs or been given any filthy towel or heard this from my friends. But till now, nothing appeared on Xtube from this and other local establishments and if so, I am so there's more exciting thing to watch there. Then stop going and all you do not have to worry about anything. No doubt that could be political gain or personal grudge with shogun, I suppose there are also good intention people who highlighted all these hoping to have a more relaxed environment to spend the day. Singapore has already installed with many CCTVs , just when you think you can come to a place where you can relax and have privacy, you were being watched again... sigh.... I wonder do other saunas installed CCTVs at the locker room? .. or other areas apart from the main reception counter?.. That, to me, is respect of one's privacy. ... Secondly, for a business to attract more patrons, don't you think they should uphold the basic cleanliness? I, being a patron, have suffered about 20 bites from the bed bugs after sitting at the fabric sofas... no joke ... It is damn super itchy and it took about a week to recover after applying cream daily. I believe for those who suffered the bites know what I am talking about... (talking about Bad Karma... is it my karma for visiting an unclean sauna to suffer the bites?? Then I better cultivate good karma by informing the patrons to beware of the bed bugs!!) Being a mere patron, I simply just hope that Shogun could make some changes to provide better service...
Guest Raiden Alpha
But I thought you just said in your earlier post that "Take out the 60%(the CMI) and Shogun will be a very nice place"?Seriouslsy, people really go and find people that look like models and movie stars in the first place? All those undue emphasis onpeople look and physique are making me burst out laughing. Gay saunas are primarily a venue for people to get their rocks off, not a place to find a husband or wife.In my opinionSaunas is a place where physical attributes and sexual prowess dictates. So yeah take out the 60%cmi and that place become naturally appealing to the patrons. But to place undue emphasis on people academic achievement, upbringing and emotional/intelligence quotient is slightly out of context and inappropriate in a venue such as these places that's all. My previous two postings did not contradict each other, it was mean merely to respond to two different comment that's all.Peace out
snowball
shogun's boss can consider remove the sofa, who ever like to rest can go to the big mattress bed, more happening maybe.

Being a mere patron, I simply just hope that Shogun could make some changes to provide better service...So the sofa is the cause of the bugs not the mattress.I remember some sofa but I hardly rest on them, therefore never kanna any bites. So do not use the sofa which is a highly used piece of furniture.Hope mgt can take note and clean the sofa with anti-bacteria fabric spray or diluted detol(if leather) on an hourly basis. It is also good to buy JACKIE disinfectant spray(which they used in some aircraft while boarding). It smells good and doesnot smell so pungent like DETOL.I know the boss is not stingy when it comes to providing the best for the patrons. He brought all brand new gym equipment when he could have purchase 2nd hand ones.If I were him, I would have save and cut cost on those unnecessary things. gz69a
Shogun has become my favourite place to chill out. And I suggest that Shogun Management put up posters that say they disinfect their sofas, mattresses, etc. Also putting up a few signs such as ....Keep the room clean after using. Please use the toilets / urinals if you need, etc. Do not use the rooms for naps, etc. All these can create a social awareness. Not everyone is selfish or uncaring. Many of us value the service provided and the exclusive environment. Plus it is very convenient for transportation too. A few odourless Baygon solves all bug problems.
