Our first visit.Is there any good nice hotel somewhat like le meridien in Silom of BKK kind, within walking distance of Boyztown to recommend and not exceedingly pricey.Also, how is the Gogo bar scene? Most forums seem to suggest that its really dead now. Any field report? I am thinking of visiting wild wild west, copa show and X bar.Also, any good local food nearby to recommend? Thanks a lot! Thanks a lot!I am surprised there is nothing more recent on Pattaya in this forum - apologies if I have the wrong thread, but I thought I would give you a report: Getting to Pattaya is easy as there are buses directly from Bangkok airport. On this trip I arrived early in the morning and got the 9.15 bus. There is a trick though as the bus does not go to Pattaya bus terminal (in north Pattaya), but stops along Sukhumvit Road which is a bit far from all the tourist areas. There are motorcycle taxis, although on this trip I got off at North Pattaya and walked the short distance to the bus station from where I caught a "baht bus"(open air truck) into town. I stayed at the Flamingo Hotel, although I think it might since have closed. It was supposed to be a gay hotel, but there didn't seem to be any other guests and the staff were all female. It was close to the Soi Day/Night area. In the afternoon I caught the baht bus to Jomtien beach. If you get off as soon as the bus hits the beach area and head to the right, along a concrete path, you will get to Dongtan - the gay beach. Actually it is the same beach and there seemed to be a lot of couples, so it is not exclusively gay. There are lots of places where you pay 30 baht for a lounge chair under an umbrella, which is where I spent the afternoon relaxing and watching all the eye candy. In the late afternoon there are lots of boys in speedos who strut there stuff along the beach and play ball games. There are also lots of people walking by selling everything from snacks and drinks to artwork. Among the vendors are the DVD sellers, both porno and non-porno. Naturally the porno sellers offer lots of gay porn for 100bt each disk (and the fifth one is free). Be careful though, as when I was flicking through the large pile of disks offered to me I noticed quite a few featuring very young boys, which I am sure is illegal. After a nice afternoon at the beach I went for a massage. I had heard Blue House, which was next to my hotel, offered "soapy massages" that sounded interesting. But when I walked by I saw a group of very macho masseurs hanging around the front. As macho doesn't turn me on, I kept walking until I reached Relax@Me just around the corner (behind the Tukcom centre). There was a really cute young guy out the front, so I asked him for a massage. It was much cheaper than Bangkok - only 300bt, but while the massage was good I had a few complaints. This is the kind of place that has curtained rooms, so when another tourist came in to have a massage from the ladyboy who was also waiting out the front, I could hear everything that they said. The 'extra' was limited to a handjob because the curtains didn't offer much privacy. It wasn't very intimate, and when I asked my cute masseur to get naked with me at the end he simply pulled down his shorts and let me play with his cock while he stroked me. I didn't get to any of the pubs and go-go bars in Boyztown, although I did walk down Soi 3 with lots of barflies and no one peaking my interest. There is still one place in Sunee you can pay 200 thb to have a boy JO next to you while you have a drink. - The most active bars are still in Jomtien Complex. AtHome and Dragon seems to be busiest and they have daily shows around 9pm. - The massage places in Jomtien Complex are quite good too with happy ending almost guaranteed. Standard these days is 300 thb for oil massage + 300-500 tip. - The Yunimori in Jomtien is very cruisy and busy with locals just like the Yunimoris in Bangkok. Daytime fun is popular - If you're here after 15 Sept, the Sansuk sauna in Jomtien is reopening for lots of pool action.
