topLTR_93
Ok i have a question. I applied for overseas leave from 09 Feb - 12 Feb and it was approved by my OC + unit clerk. My passport and stuff are all settled (e.g. passport validity date exceeds 6 months, etc). Did the necessary stuffs like informing my immediate commanders and stuff and yeap it was approved too.1) What else do I need to do?2) Im still going in to camp on Friday, 08 Feb but can I start my trip immediately after I bookout? Like around 6pm? ICA/SAF wont be so anal as to charge me DB for AWOL just cos my overseas leave starts at 0000HRS, right? I understand theres recalls/mobs and i would get charged if I dont respond but my current status as a trainee means that I wont be liable for mobilisation by my unit (as said before by my superiors)Really confused. Thanks for your prompt replies. Quote Sianz.

Thanks for your prompt replies.I am assuming you are NSF. firstly you need to check if you have given your MP branch submission of your overseas returns. that will cover you in case of recall.for question 2. you CANNOT start your trip any time before 2359H on 8 Feb. that is technically AWOL. dun risk it. if you wanna travel after you book out of camp, u need to apply another half day leave. dun risk it by doing things like tat. not worth it bro.hope this helps

smallboy
Just a kind note, bring some vitamin C pills inside to boost your immunity, would recommend Redoxen.I learnt from my lesson cause I was sick just 1 day before my first book in Tekong. I was allowed to go to the Medical Centre on the morning of book out day. Luckily I was able to be discharged in time by the MO as I have fully recovered with the extra rest and medicine, and book out with my company.Quite a lot of people will be coughing and catch a fever during the first 2 weeks as its the getting used to period. So protect yourself. Quote I am a 24 years old guy, just wanting to know more friends..
Guest Guest
Coughing in tekong bmt is normal (having fever is not) cos of the tap water u drink there. U dun have time to fill ur water bottle using water cooler and the jerry cans are all filled using tap water. But not to worry, cos we have all survived.Anyone knows why the tap water in tekong will cause us to cough?
SeannyShortcake
Water in Tekong is largely obtained within the island. The very water you bathe and drink from comes from the reservoirs and naturally do not go through the more complicated purification processes as the water in the mainland.Comparing Tekong water (I brought some home from camp) to tap water in Singapore,Tekong's has a thicker taste and way more particles can be observed floating about inside. Guest Guest
The reason for Tekong cough is very simple - you have a large mass of people coming together, sleeping, eating and training together for months. Whatever germs that are present, and there will be a lot of variety present, will spread. Besides, it is a period of adjustment and stress when your immune system is low. Guest Masq
Hello. I'm in C2L3, enlisting on November 8. The correspondence I have states that I'll be going through a Modified BMT (I assume it's a PES C BMT). However, the enlistment schedule here [http://iprep.ns.sg/enlistment-schedule.html] states that I'll be enlisting for BMT instead. The earliest and only PES C BMT falls on November 6 instead. Is there an error with the dates or is my assumption that Modified BMT = PES C BMT is incorrect? Thanks for any clarification!
william34yo
Seriously, I had gone through BMT and the last thing will be having an erection as you will be so tired after the training. Even, if you want to, it will not happen. You will be more worried about the training then have an erection.

Guest Nsf kid
Hi,Just to ask if it is worth it to uppes? I am currently a NSF Clerk in one of the camps. However, I will like to uppes as army can train me to be fit and instil discipline and character through hardship and at the same time Siam the jiak Lao bee regulars. However , my freedoms will definitely be taken away.Seeking opinions here
zwei
My friend who was a clerk in airforce, said this " i was really damn glad i up-pes, if not i would have rot and turn fat in there" He came to my unit after his SCS course as a spec, after he up pes from air-force. slackerj
Lol, got to look long term as well. How much time do you still have in service? Enough time for you to join and complete leadership courses? Cause if want up- pes then aim for leadership position, that's what my younger bro did.Fitness can always be trained in personal time, provided you have the discipline. There's also the matter with reservist, as a clerk your chances of being recall will also be much lower.
