Men not wearing underwear are quite common these days. I have seen quite alot of local men in active sg pools not wearing it when changing in the shower area.

I went to yunomori almost every day when I m at Bkk and Pattaya last month and noticed 90% of men at lockers pulling down shorts or putting on shorts without underwear.

Noticed the same thing when I visited the public bath house in China. Most men there don't wear underwear especially those mature daddies.

Unless one is getting renoma, Byford or bush puppies, oversea brands are cheaper to get them online. That’s what I do for my underwear.

I feel u 😂. Faced the same fate 10yrs ago when I was still actively wearing. Was trying to see the selections from the huge ranges. 2-3 sales ladies kept shadowing me, asking if I need their assistance. Had to keep telling each one, at different intervals, that I will approach them if I do need help. 
anyway, it is obvious more do freeball to and from the pool these days compared with yesteryears.

It is definitely more common now, and I have noticed it too often in MRT trains even.
