Ill say nothing wrong with shirtless ..i myself always wash my bike shirtless ...or walk to park stress directly.from home...neighbours know im like and they don't really bother abt that...sometimes ii may be the sort of 'inspiring' others to be shirtless in the park...when they see me topless ...they will take off the shirts as well ..haha report

Ha.. Chanced upon this thread which was quite some time back. Well, I'm also one who go out shirtless in just my shorts. Last night after my shirtless jog, I went to ntuc at night. There was once I went to a supermarket in day time also, but these are all in neighbourhood areas. Agree that the older generation are more conservative, they intend to look at u w disapproval. i think a good reason why u sld remvoe top if u r going to be under hot sun is to ensure u dont get FARMER TAN or in local term, looking like a zebra.

i do suntanning every weekend to ensure my body is evenly tanned. when i cycle/jog w my singlet, i exposed my shoulder and hands to the sun, if i dont do a proper whole body tan, my hands may look darker than rest of body.

Run topless somehow feel lighter and more comfort, since i dun feel my wet t-shirt weigh on my body, also feel cooler. Performance not much difference la, during army 2.4 run also run with t-shirt on and yet still didnt affect my timing.

Agreed on the psychological barrier. What I usually did is leave my top in the letterbox and just go run topless.

i don't understand why someone would put their shirt in the letter box before going for a run. then you come back from a run all sweaty and put on the dry, clean shirt before going back home? i'm a little confused.

in my personal experience, i just feel a lot better running topless. i think it might be psychological but i always feel like i run faster and work a little harder. even when i end my run and do some bodyweight exercises at the fitness station, i feel like i can do more repetitions. when im out of breath and look down at my sweat drenched body, it almost feels like a sense of accomplishment. i don't know if other guys who run topless feel this way.

i'm more of a night runner but i do avoid running in the rain. don't want to fall sick. i also avoid running along the main roads or busy roads. i prefer running in parks and the park connectors. i do think sometimes that not everyone is very okay with the idea of a guy running topless especially along a busy road or at a certain time of the day but we do have to applaud the guys who do it as it shows their high level of confidence.

Actually many times u will see guys run topless, but when they finished their run they str8 away put on their shirt. Sometimes i also dun understand why, cos when u r wet and sweaty and wear back the shirt, wldnt u wet the shirt? Unless u cool down and dry off ur sweat b4 wearing back the shirt?!

When i run topless, not becos i wld feel like i wld run faster or work harder. Reason of running topless is dun want to feel uncomfortable and heavy with a drenched wet shirt on my body. Also if i run under the sun, i dun want to have ugly two toned tanned.

I do have such a problem where my nipples get swollen when I wear dri fit shirts when running...its painful...cotton shirts are still the best though I sweat a lot...

I still remember my sergeants are teasing me when I wear white singlets during running...my nipples are always exposed after running

Cotton shirts doesnt absorb sweat well, and if u sweat a lot, ur cotton shirt will become very heavy and uncomfortable on ur body. Wearing white singlets or shirts to run, after u have sweat confirm ur nipples will exposed clearly lor, esp if ur nipples size is avg to big.

Today i saw an ang moh jogging topless with his shirt on his hand during lunch time near one raffles quay toward marina bay.

I could see he was focussing on himself, not bothering other people who looked at him while he was waiting for "the green-man light" before crossing the street.

I admire his confident in doing so and his sweaty nice bod really made my day...:-)
