The reason y I referred to Pekinese was becos during the 40s-80s, Beijing was known as Peking in the english language. So obviously, ppl from dat region were known as pekinese. Unfortunately, for some obvious sinister reasons, the english scholars decided to called a breed of dogs from dat region as Pekinese, as well. As chinese we were brought up to respect others, so when I refer to dat breed of dogs, I'll call them as pekinese dogs. Quite well versed in Chinese history myself.. heh heh... just that i found it rather amusing that you refer to Peking people as pekinese as it reminded me of dogs. And yes, i stand corrected also. Did a google and realized that Peking people are called "Pekinger" (there is even a book written on it! - Pekinger in New York). By many scientific standards, the asian face does not make the cut. The colonial west were shocked by the different facial features of the asians. Somewhere along the line, ppl like to use genes n their ancestry to put down others. For instance ppl from Beijing will look down on ppl fron Shanghai.

If the Shanghainess hv such good bones, they won't need the flourishing aesthetic industry to correct their features, do they? Or is this a case of insecurity?

As for procreation, our forefathers were from all over China, India, Malaysia, n other parts of Asia. There were Shanghainess, Pekinese, Cantonese, Punjab, Southern Indians, etc... amongst them. They migrated to the south ie S'pore during the wars n hard-times. Only the resourceful ones ran away from their troubled countries. Inter-marriage is very common in S'pore!!

I believe nobody has the right to call someone ugly, maybe he's jus not ur ur idea of beauty. A 'good' plastic surgeon will not drastically change the features of a client to make him /her into the perfect face.

Even someone not blessed with the perfectly symmetrical face can look attractive, with the right hairstyle, appropriate clothes, good hygiene,etc. Someone who is able to accept others who r different from themselves, r definitely more pleasant looking than those who goes around saying this or dat person is ugly.

Insecurity breeds a unhappy person.

Think about it, an unhappy person will not think of themselves as beautiful, not to mention others.

My question here is, how could you conclude and or determine the whole Prawn Label is a myth, unless you have travelled and experience enough to gauge, compare and conclude ?

That reminds me of a job I once held. Morning at Raffles Hotel for product launch, Afternoon at Grand Hyatt for press conference, evening at opening ceremony - all on the same day. It's no fun at all. I was more like an actor, playing different roles to different people. I met this so called 'VIP' & got to see him dig his nose & wipe it on the table cloth. Yucks!!! Their replies were very positive as they agreed tat most Singaporean guys have great body and tanned skin. They like our sunshine look and command of English. Even in saunas, I hv seen many local guys cruised Singaporean. Few of them couldn't differentiate singaporean and HKees, of cos as a singaporean I could tell the difference. In general , the east asians hv sharper features and better complexion. But there are many of them like our features and physiques too. I hv a hk friend who only cruised singaporean as he prefer our styles of dealing things and rugged look.

I am in Japan right now. I already consider myself quite fair. But most Japanese are fairer, in fact too fair that I consider that to be unhealthy pale. Most of them agree too and some would pay to tan.

Some like our healthy and fit look. But I notice that most young gay Japanese men are chubby and like to think of themselves as Gmen. I am afraid that before too long they will start to look like those westerners where chubby and big tummy is the norm. This is unhealthy as the rocketing medical costs of the west shows why.

Totally agree. When I took a train ride on Seoul's metro (for a total of 10 days daily, and on multiple trips per day), every train carriage I entered or walked through had male passengers who would beat our local newspaper models flat. With their lean body, clean-cut and pimple/acne-scarred free faces, and a fashion sense that is coordinated, trendy and modern, yet understated, we are a damned nation of prawns.

Oh yeah, everyone knows that the BKK Katoeys look way more classy and sexier than our Singapore females anytime (until they open their mouths to speak).

I am singaporean and my taiwanese friend said the same. But the difference is he used real evidence to point out to me when he was here in singapore. He asked me to look carefully at singaporean's faces, young or old, men or women to notice the following features: 1. Typical Singaporeans face got "no chin" - means that the chin is usuallu slopping inwards or a very tiny piece of flesh hanging after the mouth. 2. Typical Singaporean face also got "no nose" - means that it is usually a lump of "garlic" at the end of a low bridged nose. Even with a high nose, it is usually not well formed and with a short termination at the nose tip. My Taiwanese friend asked me to look around for evidence and first time i realised that there are really many typical singaporeans faces that look like those described above! Especially thos I saw in gay sauna who have such faces and with a muscular body. They called them "prawns" - no cchin and no nose !!
