What Is The Differences Between Stocky / Cub / Chub / Bear (compiled)

Can anyone enlighten me what is a chub? There is a difference between slim and skinny but what is the difference between chub and fat? Are chubby people fat or are fat people chubby? lol

A chub exactly means a fatty, except that chub sounds less offensive n more optically correct. There is absolutely no difference.

Just like in America, people of African descent are callled African Americans or simply Blacks, instead of more derigatory terms like Negro or worse, Nigga.

But seriously, why bother on such terms like fat or chub or meaty to describe yourself? Totally redundant. U can also call urself top male supermodel. No use. People have eyes n they wil judge n perceive ur level of attractiveness without u telling them who u think u r or look like physically.

Why try to make urself feel better by trying to categorize urself in a higher level of the fat scale? Shouldn u try to stop eating like a greedy monster n b couch potato n start exercising instead?

yup. skinny nerds gym n workout so they can make real tangible changes to their body shape, to b more fit n muscular, n to increase growth hormones n testosterone in their body. To achieve a more masculine physical profile.

Meanwhile, moving ur fingers on the keyboard to make a point that there are distinct differences between being fat n chubby does little to burn fats on ur body or change peoples opinion of u physically.

If I don't like women, no amount of verbal or written argument on the irresistable sexiness of the female body will make me change my mind into liking or bedding them.

Likewise no amount of verbal or written argument on the different grades of fatness, or that that there r people who generally go for chubs n find them attractive, will change popular opinion on overweighties.

there is nothing complicated about it.

if u are fat but refuse to lose weight, and lives in self-denial and try to make it sound nicer by giving yourself a nicer name (chub, cub, stocky... etc), and you are afraid of ppl judging you by your look so you insist on the idea that its the inner beauty that matters more... etc. that is what we call inexcusable. hey, the root of the problem is not with the society, but with you being fat, so just go lose weight. problem solved.

i started this thread not to flame anyone, my friends are fat too, i just dun understand why use the word chub? to view fat people in a pleasant way? i mean looks r not everything, btw i am slim-average and prefer healthy guys regardless ur size, so what nice name shall we give to skinny? stick guys lol

I understand your curiosity but then again, t think you may not have found the answer in this forum.

All these names were created because there is a genuine sexual interest in the different types of people. (fat, fatter, fattest, hairy, hairless and anything in between)

Also note. slim hairy folk are classes as Otters

As you can read from other posts above, most locals don't care about these distinctions and just lump it up as "not skinny" (or not sexy for their taste).

If you have the chance. Googgle or visit a Gay Pride Parade overseas. Local scene will only make you feel shame instead of pride. :yuk:

honestly, the word "fat" already has negative connotations.

"she is fat." compared to "she is plump/chubby/." the difference can be felt.

whilst "skinny" has a more neutral connotation, though u could always use "slim" or "lean" as a more pleasant-sounding alternative.

my point is, fat, chub, cub, bear blah blah blah. To me, there's reli no difference. Can't we just have underweight, average, muscular and overweight? I mean isn't that HPB do too lol

Very good explanation. But I must add something Taiwanese people call chinese stocky men who's very smooth, NOT hairy at all. They call us PIGS! I know, the first time I hear it, I thought it's kinda insulting cause I belong to the category. But you know what, as long as you're comfortable with yourself, then who gives a f*ck!!!

In Sg, those big & very big guys without facial or body hair would refer themselves as Chubs or Super Chub respectively. But in Taiwan, they are referred as Pig. While the really slim ones are called Monkey (猴子).

I used to say Bear but that sounded too broad...so I had to explain no hair, muscled, compact body proportion etc. Now I can just say, it's muscular and stocky

Yes. I always assume "stocky" refers to height more than build, as we use the word "compact" to describe someone who is small.

The past winter, I have gotten a little heavier, not so ripped. So I was trying to figure out which category I fall into. This guide is handy, Thanks!

The terms and definitions vary when used by caucasians and asians. For example, there's otter (slim hairy man) but I've hardly heard anyone used the term in Asia. And everyone has their own individual yardstick so it's all very confusing.

Baby fat is where the person is relatively normal in terms of physique but isn't exactly lean or muscular. This is why you can be skinny, but still have baby fats.

Chubby is where the person is fat, but it's not really that bad or the point where it can gross you out. However it's enough to still make a difference. What I consider chubby is Gerard Butler on the left.

Fat is where the person is just completely fat. Like there's no doubt in your mind that they need to stop eating burgers and start doing something.
