Brit Pop Rules! (But Sucks Sometimes Too!)

Leah McFall, a name to watch out for,

a bookie’s favourite to win the current season of The Voice UK too...

I Will Survive - Leah McFall (#8 @ mid-week)

She didn't win after all,

but here're 2 more of her finest moments that are currently charting...

I Will Always Love You - Leah McFall (#22 @ mid-week)

Killing Me Softly - Leah McFall (#34 @ mid-week)

Loving midweek's #1 indeed!

#2 (faller) Blurred Lines Feat. T.I. & Pharrell - Robin Thicke
#3 (new) Walks Like Rihanna - The Wanted

#4 (new) Bang Bang - will.i.am

Lol...The Wanted. The clips of the other boy band videos. I can only remember I want it that way and Bye Bye Bye.

Walk like Rihanna is quite decent but it sounds like another song..

My Immortal is such a beautiful song...sigh.

  • 4 weeks later...

Up 6 places to #16 this week,

and a welcome return for Lily Allen, even for a mere 20 seconds!

True Love Feat. Lily Allen - P!nk (forwarded to 2:40 for Lily Allen)

I like Lily Allen's quirky style of music,

here's another one of hers, from Feb 2007...

Interestingly, here are 2 ladies from 2 separate UK reality talent shows,

both fallers this week with a "7" in their respective chart positions,

and both songs have the word "light" in their song titles too!

Lighters (The One) - Gabz (#37 this week)

Lighthouse - Lucy Spraggan (#47 this week)

Oh, this is one of my current favourites as well,

one that fits perfectly under the "Alternative Music Fans" & "Songs That Stir My Emotion" threads. Njoi!

Add this to my favourite tunes from Scouting For Girls too...

Millionaire - Scouting For Girls (debut at #52 this week)

...such simple, yet beautiful lyrics!

The best things in life don't come with a price

Forget what they say cause I know they ain't right
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

A walk in the park, a kiss in the dark
The way she looks back every time that we part
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire

Maybe I'm blased, but you're just the finest
Girl that I've met I think you're priceless
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

I'm not going to lie the money'd be nice
Cause I could take you out every night
I'd spend it all on you
It is you it is you it is you

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

Cause you make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire

If money gets tight I'll be alright
As long as you're there, there by my side
Cause you make me feel
Like a millionaire

Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

Cause you make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like a millionaire

Here's midweek's Top 5 & a new #1 too!

Let's hope Rudimental will continue its lead (currently by nearly 28,000 copies),

and forbid Justin Bieber from claiming his first ever #1 single in the UK!

Follow-up to April's #1,

but missing all the necessary ingredients for a #1 hit unfortunately (IMHO)...

Right Here Feat. Foxes - Rudimental (#38 @ mid-week)

Woohoo!!!

Was at PSB's concert last night.

I didn't know the new songs but the audience knew the old songs...a lot of jumping about to Rent and Suburbia, sing-along in Go West and Domino Dancing and screaming to It's a sin and West End GIrls.

The concert was theatrical and the male dancer is adorable, especially in the I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing and West End Girls. There's this young girl behind me: she knew the lyrics of almost all their songs...even "I'm not scared".

Here's the clip to West End Girls...it's visually better live.

I'm Not Scared by Eighth Wonder, Patsy Kensit, ex-wife of Liam Gallagher,

their one and only Top 10 hit written by Pet Shop Boys, of course!

...and the follow-up...

While you are still working very hard to the follow-up of your last & very successful debut album,

you can always lend your vocals and make yourself heard in the singles chart with new materials of others.

New this week from Naughty "La la la" Boy featuring Emeli Sandé
