Taiwan Celebrities - News And Gossip 台灣明星新聞和八卦 (Compiled)

As a frequent traveller, i would rather have cecurity personnel who do their jobs, firmly and fairly and that means no exceptions made, even for mini celebrities like shu qi,

Oh copme on, if bigger stars and celebrities like madonna or Jolie can submit themselves to security checks and the accompanying inconvenience for the sake of safety and

security of the whole plane of passengers , i don't see why Shu Qi should complain.

And if she doens't like it, she can always buy a corporate

jet and fly by herself and she can always buy and pay for private security to do the screening at departure.

What, you dont say. Shu Qi's personal worth wealth cannot buy a private corporate jet yet.

Well , she can always use the money printing machine located between her legs , the pink and hairy one down

there can be used to hook up with some rising rich, connected entrepreneur from China. they will bankroll a private jet for her.

OOPpps! the last I check, she has offended the mainland mother china, when she asserted her taiwan aboriginal

roots and said she will never step into china and she is all for Taiwan independence and said Taiwan aborigines owe no loyalty and allegiance to mother China.

She is screwed , no where to go .

For security reason, you are not allowed to take picture of the security gate. I cant tell whether she was reprimanded when she took the picture or she was unhappy and hence took that picture.

I completely agree with Shu Qi.

I am amazed that the staff at the airports dare to risk our country's reputation and their own job by being so rude.

I have witness so many misconducts during my travels in and out of Singapore and Singapore's airport staff is really deplorable.

Sometimes so deplorable, I cannot even react. What a lack of decorum.

And all the cases I witnessed did not happen to celebrities.

These incidents happened on our own fellow Singaporeans and also foreigners, regular folks.

I just had the misfortune of witnessing these abuses.

What to do? The Changi security personnel's attitude is they're there to do their job, to hell with customer service and politeness, who cares about tourist dollars, that's STB's job, everyone kwai kwai just follow law.

HK actor Kenny Bee complains about being 'treated like criminals' at Singapore airport

AsiaOne

Wednesday, Jul 27, 2011

SINGAPORE - Veteran Hong Kong actor-singer Kenny Bee took to his microblog on Tuesday, complaining about being treated poorly at Singapore's Changi Airport.

Bee, 58, was in town to perform on a luxury cruiseliner, but his trip here with his family was apparently marred by an incident with an immigration officer upon arrival.

He flew in on Friday with his girlfriend, Fan Chiang, and seven-year-old daughter. They left yesterday.

Bee wrote in his microblog, complaining about a female immigration officer who 'made things difficult for him'.

He said her attitude and behaviour caused his family distress and fans who were around to feel embarassed for them.

Bee also wrote that the officer seemed to be taking out her personal frustrations on them and they were just the 'unlucky victims'.

His girlfriend, Fan - who seemed more agitated in her posts to her microblog account - went a step further, saying they were 'treated like criminals'.

She wrote: "The immigration department is the first point of contact for travellers to any country. In Singapore, we met with an unpleasant female officer, who treated not just us, but everyone as if they were criminals.

"I hope the Singapore immigration department will look into this and not let one bad apple spoil the whole basket."

This is not the first case where celebrities have complained about being ill-treated at Singapore's immigration checkpoints.

Just last month, sultry Hong Kong actress Shu Qi wrote on her microblog account that immigration officers in Singapore 'need to improve their attitude'.

Her post prompted one fan to reply that Singapore is all about giving fair treatment, and that if she's not happy, she should not come.

In response, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said that all travellers are subjected to the same security regime at our checkpoints and are treated equally in the course of security checks.

A spokesperson said that investigations into Bee's complaints showed that his girlfriend did not complete and sign off on her embarkation/disembarkation (DE) card. The officer attending to her then asked her to fill in the missing information, while continuing to clear the rest of the travellers in the queue.

She added that ICA officers are constantly reminded to be professional and courteous when handling travellers.

According to papers, it's started with Ah's B wife did not fill the immigration form properly ... there could be miscommunications or someone think that they should be treated like "royal" family. Anyway, there are two sides of a coin. No body will admit he/she is wrong.

However, a security staff should have "serious" and "dun mess me around" kind of attitude. If he or she is like our courtesy mascot, the airport immigration will be like a playground.

Did anyone try the USA immigration officer? They could be worst. But, why no one complaint?

Recently had a bad encounter too, the female officer at scanning desk yell to the male officer to check a certain 'suspicious' item in my pouch... when I lung my hand to (intending help take off the particular item) the male officer SHOUTED at me, I touch & you no touch!!! I was flabberghast... Its my pouch afterall you know... dun think he need to shout at me... in the mist of throwing out my stuff from the pouch, he took up my hp(in hp cover) and ask " what's this?" OMG.... he couldn't even identify a mobile/cell phone???? I replied coolly its my handphone, he rolled his *** eyes and put in down, next he pick up my coin pouch which and ask me again " what's this"... I stared at him and replied coin pouch.... zzz... all this while the female lady was actually asking to check my wallet which was attached to a chain.

He took forever to go thru my stuff, till the flight attendant came over chasing claiming I am the last passenger not on board.... I turned around & very pissted telling that missy it's not I didnt want to get onboard but that officer for whatever reason took his damn sweet time....

I can totally understand how Ms ShuQi felt then....

I think u are referring to Changi Airport personnel and not SIA.

I also think...It's generally a responsibility of governments, who can delegate to airports rather than airlines; and themselves can subcontract to security companies.

By the way, I had no problem in Changi.

Worst staff attitude (but they were probably exceptions) in Paris, Washington, Dubai...

And funniest case: At Tokyo (Narita) airport, I was ringing their scanners (don't know why) and was eventually searched VERY closely by a stocky Japanese lady, in an open space; she was laughing loudly, and well...Me too, why not?

At least, we entertained the other passengers nearby!

I had a similar encounter at Changi before. The silly fellow asked me what's this, what's that in a rude manner until I simply told him, that he's an adult and he should know what exactly are these items? What am I to tell them? A fake laptop? A toy? A musical instrument?? These assholes gotta learn some manners. It doesn't mean wearing some stupid uniform makes them above all. I think all the good work the tourist promotion board does is going to waste with such personnel manning the airports.

I travel a lot and Ive never encountered snarky immigration staff in Singapore. Seriously.

Ditto for those in other coutries, they can be curt, but never rude.

I always believe that there is not smoke without fire.

The most sensible posting till far. Reflection, reflection ....

A few years back, when i was returning home from my vacation in Korea with my mum, i had met with one of the rudest SIA staff at Changi airport. As i was busy finding my missing lugguage at the baggage pick up point, my mum had went around to look for a trolley to load our luggages. She walk a fair distance from me but still within my sight and found a trolley.

From far, i could see that she is having problem figuring out how to release the locks on the wheel of the trolley and was wondering in vain on how to move it. A SIA staff ( a girl wearing SIA uniform) then passes by, stop and start talking to my mom. At first, i thought she was offering to help my mum but her facial expression and hand gestures soon tells me otherwise. Her facial expression was that of a very irritated person and she was gesticulating in a manner that seems like she was lecturing someone.

I quickly walks towards my mum to find out what had happened, but by the time i reached her, the SIA staff had walked off to approach a caucasian man who is looking lost. I asked my mum what had happened and she told me that the SIA staff had scolded her for not knowing even how to use a trolley.

I was very angry at the SIA staff who had bullied her, my mum is already in her late fifties and i felt that anyone who would see a old lady having problem using a trolley would be emphathetic enough to give her help willingly without asking instead of lecturing her rudely.

As i tried to confront the the SIA staff, my mum pulled me back and said that we should find our missing luggage first and she doesn't want me to get into any argument. From a distance, i could still see her helpng the caucasian foreigner, but this time she was smiling and nodding courteously to the caucasian men, her attitude was a 180 degree change from when had talk to my mum.

At the end of the conversation, she even did a slight bow and waves goodbye courteously to the cacuasian foreigner when he walks away.

I did not confront her as i do not wish to upset my mum any further. i did post a feedback to SIA but was not responded to at all.

Somehow, from that moment on, i had felt that SIA's standard of service is not what it is used to be and currently the new SIA staff are simply the worst service provider.

By the way, i wish that bitch would be treated the same way when she is old or better yet be raped by perverts.

A number of travelers told me the story that SQ girl smile to them when serving food, turn back she scold another SQ girl to pass her the food.

Double standard always there, they need to improve.

MI flights are terrible, feel like budget airline especially the food quality. Airasia's food are much better than MI's.

I have excellent memories of Singapore Airlines staff, both on ground and on board; polite, efficient and smiling.

I had been using the budget terminal quite a fair bit lately.

I had no problem with the staff there.

Remember Tiger flights start as early as 6 am and their counters open at 4 am.

Unlike the T1 and T2 staff, these counter staff starts much earlier.

IMHO, I believe a smile begets another.

Try to greet them and show a happy face.

You can charge them up.

Please comply with immigration and custom rulings, eg. 7 kg hand luggage.

No confusion and no incident.

Guest I agree

Have you encountered the security personnel in the U.S. airports? If you have, you'd think Changi's security officers are angels... I've never had issues with the security staff at Changi before...maybe it's because I always remove my keys, metal objects from my pockets in advance, and remove my laptop before placing them in the Xray...

If you know the drill, it makes life so much easier...

I absolutely agree. Whenever I go to the US, the immigration and the security staff really piss me off. They are just the rudest officials in the world!

Fortunately, I have never had any problems with airport security.

However, I find 9 out of 10 of the officers at inbound passport control at Changi Airport very rude.

You smile at them, greet them and thank them when they return your passport.

Most of them don't acknowledge you, don't smile and don't talk.

Strangely, the officers at the outbound passport control seem to be friendlier.

It's like they are happy to see you go but not pleased to see you come home lol.

Well, maybe not all...

I've seen very polite and welcoming ones.

It's commonly agreed, even with the SQ station managers that the company cares only for their foreign guest and all guest in 1st and Business class. Locals??? Don't waste their time. Spend little on economy and ask for the world. Besides, SQ is a glooobal company you know? How many percent of their revenue come for miserly sinkies?? Besides, you're almost captive customer. Don't take SQ? Ok, go other airlines and you have to make stopovers elsewhere. To them you're insignificant! Just concentrate on the higher paying guests and views of the global traveller alone will still make them best airline. Sorry to say this but its a cruel fact.

On their smiling... many found them to be too plastic, when they're among themselves, they're probably the biggest bitching bunch of workers you will ever encounter! But who cares?? The first/buisness class customers are happy with it, they don't care if the crew were to go behind to economy and throw their tantrum! Good service! Vote SQ No. 1

Myself always think Singapore Immigration too nice to foreigners.

Lots of time I saw people yaking over the mobile phones when queuing up when going through the immigration, some even continue when handing the passport at the counter.

Try doing that at Australia immigration queue and you will know what I meant!
