Great movie. 张孝全 is a rly good actor.I think its understandable that some parts are not as clear/needs much more interpretation. I couldnt understand some scenes as well.I think you can get a more complete pic if you read the novel based on this movie. More detailed. I prefer the novel version. In the movie, they were already v gd frens wif each other, so some things can be left unsaid & they'd still understand what the other party needs to say. The envelope was placed in the special hiding place that only the 2 of them knows. So when he saw it, he knew instantly that it's fr her. It's blank cos it's pretty obvious that she's giving him a love letter. Based on their friendship at that time, he wd have guessed what message she wanted to convey.
