Haha, MV Sachika is mooooore expensive Yours looks fine, low season at US$ 1750 per week. Fly there with Tiger or Sri Lankan and you're set for about S$2500-3000 for a week all inclusive... ouch haha.Doesn't say how much extra is the Jr Suite though why do you want a suite? You're almost never in it. I love maldives! Enelym1978
Nikon AW1. No need for a casing. Just go in the water, until 12m deep. However.... the last day.... something bad happened. I think there was some sand in one of the seal and some water got in.... I only noticed while snorkelling and realised it was not turning on.... then saw with horror some humidity traces on the LCD screen.... well it didn't work anymore. The battery leaked and the camera refuses to power on. I might try to get a new battery to try again but I think it's dead... :-( Haven't converted and colour corrected my GoPro videos yet.... takes forever to do. And which website provides good and cheap diving package? ThanksAsian Dive Expo is happening this weekend at MBS, you can hop over to check it out! It's my first time there but understand that there will be diving classes and packages on sale by different dive schools, a bit like travel expo..October is entering into monsoon season for some of the popular dive sites, but still plenty of options. Enelym1978
Most of the shops offer more or less the same prices for PADI courses, there are no miracles Some might offer you 5-10% off or even 20% their material if you take a course with them. They have classes every week with trips every weekend for the open water certifications so don't worry. If it's not Tioman, it will be Riau so it's all year long. I just returned from Palau, Micronesia and it was just amazing! Better than Maldives when it comes to waters and underwater life! I'l post pics later, gotta pack for BKK haha

Enelym1978
Should I get go pro silver? Hehe Mhhhh I have the GoPro3 Black Edition and I love it, but it won't take amazing pictures.... unless you're lucky haha. The battery pack won't last if you have the LCD screen attached, usually one battery will last you one dive... Even without the LCD screen, if you film a lot or shoot in HD, battery life will suffer and without the LCD screen, aiming at the subject might be a bit difficult. For nice pictures, a simple good compact digital camera with an underwater casing is a much better option from my experience.

youngpunk
i guess it really depends on what you're looking for. both are functional. G16 probably takes better picture but go pro is a lot more convenient as far as the size is concerned.
