Xp Tweak - Reclaim Bandwidth By 20%

If you are to check your WinXP, you'll notice that, by default, microsoft reserved 20% of your available bandwidth. There is unknown reason, though it could be reserved for 'interrogation' while doing your windows update.

To increase your bandwidth by 20%, follow the steps below:

1. Click Start > Run

2. Type "gpedit.msc" - without the quotes

3. In the 'Group Policy' window, under Computer Configuration

a. Double click on Administrative Templates

b. Double click on Network

c. Double click on Qos Packet Scheduler

d. On the right window, double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth

e. A new window will pop

f. Check on Enabled

g. Set the Bandwidth limit (%) to zero [0]

h. Click Apply and Ok

i. Reboot your system

This tweak works on WinXP and Win2K.
