sblue Posted April 18, 2007 Report Share Posted April 18, 2007 I need to know how to install and use Chinese. I'm using Windows XP. Tried the following:1. Control panel2. Date Time Language and Regional Option3. Add other Languages4. Languages, clicked on Install file for East Asian Languages, Apply5. "Please insert the Compact disc labeled 'Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD' into your CD-ROM drive (D:) and then click OK. Problem: I only have Windows XP CD, I installed Service Pack 2 from the intenet [i think cos when i checked with the microsoft page, it said my computer already has Service Pack 2.]Question:1. What can I do to get Chinese installed and running?2. How can I switch between typing in Chinese and English?3. Can the Chinese typing be made in Hanyu Pinyin? (I know nothing of BoPoMoFo)Thanks! You have to configure it thru Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details3. Not sure abt this cos i dont use it. dan74sg Posted April 18, 2007 Report Share Posted April 18, 2007 To add pin yin:Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > DetailsClick AddInput lang : Chinese (PRC)Keyboard Layout : Chinese Simplified : Microsoft PinyinThen click OK all the way. and restart PC.
