Guest GIRL
I had my own share of views towards this topic.Seems like everyone is pointing fingers towards the Auntie and praise the young girl.I would like to share my thoughts on the blog i postedwhy dun the young lady walk away instead of standing in front of auntie?
Sepias
Standing in front is good. Walk away just make the auntie think she is such a big shot. And this incident wont happen, and ppl think they re still living in a tame society where old people are ALL good ind hearted citizens which is quite untrue. My friend once experienced an incident when a army boy, looked super tired, and probably just finished a tough outfield as his field pack can be seen quite dirty. The poor soldier was sleeping on the train at about 10+ am in the morn when this middle aged uncle in causual clothing came in and wake the soldier up and asked him, : Army boy can sit in train in uniform meh?"My fried got pissed, and told the uncle, :" Hello sir, why cant he sit on the train, he paid the same amount as u. Besides, look at how haggard and tired he is and with a dirty fieldpack which mostly means he probably just finished a vigorous outfield training, toughening himslef up to protect citizens like u. And u, dont look old, weak or injured, dressed as if U ve just finished ur morning leisure walk, and now takign the train after a hearty breakfast. So why can't this poor army boy be taking the seat?"The man left the train at the next stop. =x My friend dared to say that, cause he was in CV hahaPersonal encounter, I once gave up my seat to an old lady, and she just squeezed to the seat, and then glare at everyone including me. WTH, would it kill to just smile or thank whoever who offers u the seat? I m not obliged to do that u know.Another was once when I gave up my seat, this uncle replied, " I look very old meh?" I just diam diam. Sometimes I give my heart away too easily.

Guest Guest
The old woman looks familiar, the kind of face that fight justice and get irritated easily if things are not going her way.On the other hand, what if the young Ah Lian is a gay guy and the old woman started to hurl abusive words. Will any gay people stand up to protect their own kind from being bullied? I am no surprise the sensitive old woman can get triggered easily into anti-gay mode if she find opportunity to do so like what was seen on the video. That's easy. I m sure given that kind of rare opportunity, she would say things like "chow ah qua.....etc".Then we would have to break it gently to her that " Auntie, your husband like to fxxk us bcoz he complained your cb too loose to give him pleasure. Sorril hor. But Aunite, you could try sewing up your hymen (& your mouth), that might help a little.".Smile.
Guest Guest
Priority seat should be given to 老 or 弱 personnel. This aunty has no right to demand for the seat. Also, I wonder why SMRT has marked out so many priority seats. In a row of 7 seats, there are already 2 priority seats - 1 on the extreme left and the other on the extreme right. That means about 2/7 seats are assigned as priority seats, which is too many. Trains in other cities like taipei also have priority seats, but not assigned in this manner. How about assigning a whole carriage (like in japan female only carriage) for snr citzien?Should they fight again, then it would be among themselves. hehe
Guest Guest
What just happen here is the failure of SMRT to bring understanding of priority seats to the public. The Auntie who is obviously quite old have some serious problems but the Ah Lian should have left the train to avoid a publicity of herself. The community should show concern to the Auntie instead of discussing what is wrong and right. I mean she is already quite old and not mentally stable. Then the auntie should take the train to IMH. Which MRT station is that ha?

Guest Guest
Something quite similar happened to me once. I was sitting on a reserved seat, then all of a sudden, a healthy-looking man in his 50s stood in front of me, glared at me for a few seconds and said "is this seat for u? u pregnant ah?" oh, and I have to mention that there were MANY empty seats around as it was non-peak hour. If he had asked politely, I would have given up the seat for him as he looked so desperate for the reserved seat, but I decided I wanted to take a revenge on him for his rudeness so I kept sitting there, he eventually gave up and sat on the empty seat beside me, keep mumbling something throughout the journey...I foresee snr citizens reserving priority seats in the train with Adult Diapers in the very distant futureI hope they use clean ones

Guest good karma
Maybe the MRT should remove the priority seats stickers..instead " maybe use please give seat to the elderly or pregnant women..blah..blah... If not, those aunties will take advantage. If i am not wrong, previous it wasn't " reserved seat " or " priority seat". We were sitting in one of this seat and a couple boarded the train.. I saw the lady (she wasn't really that old) but I gather my stuff to prepare to get up for her. Her partner (a guy) immediately told her to take my seat without asking somemore. Got the cheek to tell her, she has the right to take the seat.. I felt like punching the guy but decided against it and stood up and let her sit. Not even a word of thank you. I always believe in karma.... So let it be...

Raffles Place eateries and food courts charge the sky, like S$6 for a simple dish and more for drinks, but this nasi padang stall can take the cake.I was once charged S$7.80 for a plate of white rice, rendang chicken drumstick, achar and a steamed egg.
