sonnabend
I got few recurring blackheads on my face which always turn to cysts when I leave them alone. But if i extract them, there'll be scars... what a dilemma :'( Is there any better way to extract them without leaving scars? or even better, to keep the blackhead from recurring? Guest Glyph
Try the skin center? I'm sure they have dermatologists. Better to get professionals than worrying if this works or that leaves a scar. Edited August 2, 2012 by Glyph
Rich
Exfoliate regularly. Best use a face scrub consist of aluminum oxide crystals similar to microdermabrasion to blast off dead skin cells and blackheads once a week. Use topical products consist of AHA and BHA which again helps to exfoliate and renew skin. Good luck!

Good luck! What he said but do not regulary exfoliate if your skin can't handle, Signs are reddness, Dryness, Tighten feeling and do wash your face everyday with gentle cleanser use half of what is instructed on the product even if your skin isn't too dirty. Even if the blackheads doesn't seems to get out, Don't do anything to it, Just wash everyday... Hope you will have great skin!

SexyMentor
Amethystory Mineral Aqua Gel!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiI3JIp5eLoThis post seems naive without and review or personal experience statedI could say dog poop have vitamins, minerals and ability to raise the dead to youth so go apply it on your faceSame concept but different product... Sorry Got nothing against the Guest that I will never know, It just that I hate this commercial on the tv!Anyway OP doesn't really need anything special for his facial products, It is the everyday cleaning that is important. Sweat more = more oil and blackheads, your environment that you are in also play a huge part, avoid dusty and dirty places. Make sure your skin get adequate sunlight. Or you can just tan your skin to the colour of blackheads LOL

Guest HuoHuaJiFu
But isn't the product targeted at females? Male skin are more oily you see...My skin is oilier than most males and definitely an oil slick compared to a female's.What I do is I blot off excess oil before using the men's range.I spend about 40 seconds rubbing my face gently and the gel forms up into small little grey or black clumps, which I then clean off with water.I then follow up with my usual cleanser, toner, moisturiser routine...The main advantage is that it rolls off the dead skin and removes/lightens blackhead from pores.Of course, for best results, you need a separate product to tighten or minimise pores. Guest Lunarstone
You can try the nose pad thing by Biore. It's like a sticker and you stick it on a wet area and leave it there till t hardens. I think there's the word Kao on it too. Can get it from People's Park. The bunch of cheap toiletry shops near OG. Simmon
Actually I heard from a dermatologist that using the pore pack is not good. It doesn't really clean up your black heads and it opens up your pores without closing them back. So unless you have a way of closing it back, you should refrain from using it. I forgot how she said you can close it. Toner I think...

sonnabend
the blackheads at my nose are not disturbing me, they won't swell even if i leave them alone. it's the ones at my other parts of my face (cheek, forehead, etc.) that are bugging me. I still had a lot of blackheads. After using Biore pore pack, I looked at the stick pad, it was like a field of grass! That's how much the gel missed. Maybe your hands were wet or moist when you used the gel, otherwise it should dissolve your blackheads into grey/black little rubbery bits. Guest blackhead
Can share which facewash do you use to clear those stubborn blackheads on your face?
Guest Guest
I have spoken with a dermatologist about blackheads before, and face washes, even those with "scrub beads", won't really remove blackheads. Cleansers only touch the surface of the skin, they can at most remove the top layer of the blackhead. Small blackheads can be gently squeezed out with fingers or use pore strips (Biore), though from my experience pore strips can only remove the tiny ones. For stubborn blackheads, comedone extractors can be used, you can find them at pharmacies, but don't overuse them and damage your skin. Blackheads are sebum from oily skin. The dermatologist told me that they cannot be prevented, but can be managed. Don't wash your face with cleanser too much. The skin becomes too dry and compensates by producing more oil which can cause blackheads. Moisturise after washing with cleanser. If you need to wash again, try using water only. Sebamed has light cleansers and is relatively inexpensive.I use a water-based toner. Many toners are alcohol-based and dry out the skin.Moisturisers, apply sparingly first, and use more later if skin feels dry. qez

Pufferfish
I presume you are referring mostly to the nose area? Biore pore strips should work. In addition, you can consider a clay mask as a weekly maintenance as well. As for huge pores, you can consider laser (co2 fractional laser, etc). OTC products only minimises the look of the pores temporarily. Hope this helps.

Guest guest bb
I find paula choice BHA & AHA product very good. This product will gently removed the dead skin thus prevent build up and clog your pores. You can do hydrafacial once a month to cleanse your skin. I did mine at www.tws.sg
Guest guest bb
For blackheads hydrafacial is best. The therapist will cleanse your face first follow by gentle suction using a special vortex technology. Some can combine chemical peel as part of the process. At the end of the session you can see your white and black head and dead skin being collected in a jar. Painless procedure but super effective. Cost abt $180/sessionhttp://www.hydrafacial.com/
