Andy@Tokyo
SANJA MATSURI which history dated back in the early 13th century is one of the biggest festivals in Tokyo. Annually, the festival is held on the third weekend of May by the Ujiko (people staying in the neighbourhood) at Asakusa Shrine. The huge parade of Omikoshi (portable shrines) conducted during the festival is a form of ritual to bring peace and security to the world. Spanned across 3days, the procession draws over two million people into the streets. For PLUs, it is also a time for rare encounters when u least expected.Reported by Andy and Friends (live from Tokyo) PhotoLinksUpcoming:1> Updates on Cruising Area in Tokyo( Part 1, Gardens (公園))2> Travelling in Japan3> Living in Japan
