for beer fans, you would notice that the price of a can of tiger beer could be cheaper overseas rather than can of beer at our supermarket.

You are right, I bought a can of Tiger beer at 7-11 store in Bkk and it cost per can Baht 28 which about S$1.25, and I can't remember the cost of Singha beer can?

I believe, if its at supermarket should be more cheaper. Our supermarket here like NTUC fairprice, etc it might cost $2.80 per Tiger can. Not sure, why is the price so high locally? Taxes or ....?

I think the price of alcohol in Singapore is generally higher (with exception from DFS) due to the fact that our government impose heavy tax on it.

else, if you recall the officer mess and NCO slub, they don't cost as much :)

I don't now bout the price of beer in army anymore... any service man wanna give some ideas on it?

It's just me.... Asura... don't fear, but be very afraid....

I heard from other friend that the 1st quality of Tiger beer would be those to be exported overseas, the 2nd quality of Tiger beer would be sold at our supermarket, coffeeshops, etc (or in other words for local consumption) and the last quality or the 3rd is being sold at Army Camp and Duty Free Shop. Not sure whether it's true or not?

Anyway for me, the Tiger beer tasted the same whether from local supermarket, 7-11 Bangkok or bought in DFS Changi

I remembered in Seoul, the price of a bottle of mineral water, a can of beer, a small bottle of red wine (300ml) and a small bottle of shojue (a form of sake) costed around the same in the supermarket.

gave us good reason to keep drinking in Korea :P

Yes, you are right the local produced soju in Korea is quite cheap, if not mistaken about S$2 per bottle at 7-11 shop. If you buy in supermarket even more cheaper. Either you like it or hate it, it takes time to enjoy it, as the taste of soju is unusual. In comparison to Japs soju, the japs tasted more sweeter.

There are varities of Korean soju and most of them quite strong an average about 16% alcohol contain in comparison to beer between 5-6% alcohol contain.
