JR Valentin had this break-out film, The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros. He is not in showbiz anymore because he went back to the US to study in New Jersey.

This film was a hit in the Philippines and also the festival circuits in the world. The first award it got was not even in the Philippines but in Singapore, it was Best Picture at the Asian Festival of First Films 2005. So thanks Singapore!

 Hi non pinoy, Yul Servo is now a councilor of the capital Manila , he is not yet the mayor. The current mayor of the capital Manila, was also from showbiz, our ex-President who was impeached because of corruption and embezzlement, no other than Joseph Estrada (this is why my country is sinking).

Hi Pater, when you say emotional and dramatic, you mean when they cry or get angry because of jealousy or loneliness. I just wanna know so at least I know what the general pet peeve of emotionless and cold people   . Once I had my first job assessment here and I cried because thye gave me the highest mark, I was surprised because they were just stoic. That I really admire and I'm still practicing that gift of stoicism.

 

By the way, these are the gogo boy indie films that you mentioned, I think some you've seen it before.

Piolo is from ABS-CBN - the biggest broadcaster in Philippines just like Mediacorp.  ABS-CBN shows (including Piolo's TV shows) are aired via TFC (The Filipino Channel) via Starhub.

Aljur on the other hand is from another network we call GMA and their shows are beamed via GMA PinoyTV via Singtel mio TV.

Yearly, they would be visiting Filipinos here in Singapore and KL to promote TFC or GMA PinoyTV.

I was just dreaming , imagining they can be on outcalls, lol.
