wilfgene
After chilies, Chinese kale and a packet with "Mockba" on it, aster powderpuffs is the last attempt of sowing new purchased seeds until the end of the year, unless I come across Beth-Alpha cucumber by Yates. Grown Kale and Rockets are the last newly bought plants to be transplanted, other than roses and orchids. Gotta control my desire, contend myself with twisting flowers and nettling grasses on my own, instead of looking for flowers and asking for willows externally. Celibacy is still out of question. P.s I can't believe the mouses in the garden don't go for shrimp stir-fried in onion and ginger sauce. No wonder I don't get enough. Oh well, "He who can laugh at himself can never cease to be amused". Edited May 12, 2020 by wilfgene

Perhaps you would care to contemplate from the perspective of gardening. The so-called seed and potting mix simply isn't for ALL plants. It's just a start. So we either change ourselves by experimenting with different seeds or we change others by adding components to the mix. The latter sometimes out of cost concerns. The instruction for Four O'clock of Horti states to directly sow into big pots. Drowned. So I tested with hard-to-find peat pots. Growth hampered. You know what works? Plants are vulnerable when they are stressed or unhealthy. So I pump fertiliser and give them enough sunlight and the mealy bugs were gone after 1-2x treatment. Dart 1 Be cool, like a breeze... riverrobles
For newbie gardening enthusiasts who probably would like to have a bit of challenge, just like what I did, you can buy a bulk order of plants from this company, see link below. https://www.plantler.com/en/discount-plant-boxes/green-misfits-box/ They are about 12 plants, already in pots but are damaged hence they are on discount. I just want to share the plants that Ive taken cared of as my adopted babies, they've grown well. I'm really turned-on if both heads (the head above and the head below) are both functioning well https://linktr.ee/riverrobles
riverrobles
I also salvaged sucullents that I thought had no chance of growth, I replaced the pot and the soil I used is a special mix of clay and some volcanic rocks. The brand of this soil is Seramis. Look at those babies! I'm really turned-on if both heads (the head above and the head below) are both functioning well https://linktr.ee/riverrobles
shyc
@riverrobles Aw those succulents looks lovely. Well done. I got the Tillandsia usneoides or otherwise known as Spanish moss and no matter how I tried, it just dry up and died. I had tried soaking in water, misting twice per day, change it location, even resort to collecting rain water (and it super difficult to do so in a hdb 😂). Nothing seems to work. riverrobles
riverrobles
Thanks for the compliment @shyc, you know I only started during the pandemic and these plants are all indoor plants. I made mistake last time to put these succulents under direct sun and outside of my balcony, but some of them got burnt hence I slowly took care of them again and it was a long process of healing. Theyve been with me for over a year, theyve experience all the 4 seasons, lessons learned is not be tempted to put them outdoors or reflected light. I also am proud because my chilis has now grown and my cherry tomatoes has yielded a lot. I now can say I have a green thumb. Since u r here and shyc 1 1 I'm really turned-on if both heads (the head above and the head below) are both functioning well https://linktr.ee/riverrobles
shyc
@riverrobles indeed u do have greenhands 😂 I had planted cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, chillies etc. All indoors and some did have flowers but… not turn to fruits 😂 even my manual attempt to pollinate them fail. Must add that I didn’t fertilised them thou. Only using crushed chicken bones, egg shells, left over veg discards etc. All I accomplished are infesting my house with ants and spiders 😂 Thanks for your images. 👍 ❤️

Sorry didn't see this msg ealier. Yes all indoors. Generally don't buy just for CNY but do try to make existing plants look presentable during CNY. Like tying red packets on it or clean up pot exterior or stick red papers etc. So will take more effort just few months before to trim down and loosen soil etc Edited January 13, 2023 by shyc Since u r here
