However, I love to see their reaction when I replied them in Mandarin especially when I noticed people were talking behind my back. When I was young, I tried to suppress my accent to "fit in". Ang Moh got - German, Russian, Irish, British, Italian, French, Portuguese, Brazilian and DIFFERENT type ranging from Dark skin tones to Light skin tones. Asian got - Malay, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Thai (aboriginal Thais - Tanned Skin Type) ALL ranging from Dark skin to light skin. Guest mrbotanyboey Posted November 22, 2013 Report Share Posted November 22, 2013 I read through this post and I'm sorry for those people who are indeed mixed and are flamed for it.I know some of us, mixed-blood might not look the part but we do have some mixed heritage somewhere along the branches of our family tree. My dad is Chinese and my mom is malay. As a result, I look like either of the races to different people. Some said I look like either of the two or some have mentioned that I look totally different i.e. Burmese or Vietnamese. I don't blame people when they make a mistake but I don't think it's okay to look at someone and judge that they 'claim' to be mixed when they don't look the part.
