Donna Summer knew gays were her biggest fans, strongly denied ever saying that, and accused the original rumor spreaders of making it up to inflict harm on her career. New York Magazine later dredged up that old urban legend again in 1991, she sued them for $50 million, and the case was settled out of court. The song was used in the movie "Foxes" about a group of wild teenagers, and at the end, one of the girls gets into a drunk driving accident. After she dies, "On The Radio" plays, and now I always associate the song with that sad moment. On 5/16/2020 at 11:32 AM, amicablyalan said: Last Dance is Oscar Best Movie Song 1978. From Thank God It's Friday. "Thank God It's Friday" was a typically fun disco era movie wih lots of good music from those days. Donna Summer had a nice role as aspiring singer Nicole, who sneaks onto stage and sings "Last Dance" just before Lionel Richie and the Commodores were due to perform, impressing everyone and thus getting the break her career needs. Steve5380
This is the first time I hear of a Donna Summer. She looks nice and sings well. But... Isn't she a bit old fashioned for all you young guys? I am different. I listen to songs that are at least 200 years old.

upshot
She did a song "I FEEL LOVE" where it was the very earlier days of electronic dance music instrumentation and got me hooked till today to electronic synthesizer music. In fact she was one of the pioneer that breakout what modern dance music was starting to develop. The one who produce this was Giorgio Moroder who did some big hits back in the days. It was the earlier days of programming electronic sound using modular synthesizer instruments. Earlier days before using sequencers timers and MIDIs. Everything has to be played out by hand. I regret lend that single 45rpm record to a so call friend who borrowed it along with some other and never gave it back. This video shows Giorgio Moroder at the Moog Modular synthesizer Edited May 24, 2020 by upshot Quote ** Comments are my opinions, same as yours. It's not a 'Be-All-and-End-All' view. LOL! What made me appreciate synthesized music was the early disk by Walter Carlos "Switched On Bach". Then I realized that for good music, melody harmony and rythm is all what is necessary. No "human touch" required. The "human touch" takes place in the musical center of our brain when we listen.

If you right click the YouTube video of "No More Tears [Enough Is Enough]" from above, you can copy the URL link for the original site, and then go to the actual YouTube video page. On the side, there will be other Donna Summer videos, which should include different versions of the same song. Otherwise, you can type "Donna Summer" and "No More Tears [Enough Is Enough]" into the YouTube search function at the top of that page, and it should give you more specialized results. Guest Hazily Instructor
Donna Summer's last really big hit -- "I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiro)" -- English remake of an Andrea Bocelli song -- 1999 -- #1 US Dance & #79 US Overall. I should add that she did have five more songs reach #1 on the US Dance Chart between 1999 and 2010, but not on the US Overall, or any international charts. Also, if you're having chest pain, do see a doctor. I hope you see better days and wish you luck in your pursuit of happiness.
