Not really. Quality guys for me is Thailand. Taiwan has a homogenous looks chinky and pale looking no x factor. Another factor is the language barrier which is not cater to foreign tourist. Philippines has an advantage because of language but because of our religion we shut down gay scenes here.

I always get a bit turned off at Prime's waitlist. For an establishment of that size, I would expect enough rooms/staff to be working.

finally and a bit belated, here is a review of my recent visit(s) to Let's Relax Onsen in Thonglor. Many thanks to @TravellerAsian and  @Sudu for the initiative to go together and check this place out!

 

1. How to get there

The Spa & Onsen are located on the 5th floor of the Grand Centrepoint Hotel in Thonglor in the corner of Thonglor Soi 10. Of course one can go by taxi, but that's not always a good idea due to traffic. So if taking the BTS to Thonglor is a good way to get there, but has a drawback: the walk to the Hotel is pretty far, about 1km. BUT there is a super convenient and FREE alternative: the hotel runs a free shuttle from near the BTS to the hotel. The pick up spot is in front of the first 7/11 on the left hand side of Thonglor, just under 100m into Thonglor coming from Sukhumvit. Alternatively, you could take a motorbike taxi (they're waiting in the same area).

 

2. The Onsen

The Onsen is bigger than Yunomori and has the following facilities:

• large japanese-style seated shower area
• plus a "normal" standing shower area with 4 showers
• a steam room
• a large dry sauna
• 3 hot onsen bath tubs of different temperatures and with different sorts of water
• 1 large jacuzzi with 5 places (like booths), 3 seated and 2 standing
• 1 cold tub
• outside the actual onsen bath area a hot stone room, where you can lie on a heated stone floor (wearing the shorts and shirt provided), plus a cool-down room next to it, like a walk-in fridge

On my visit with Sudu and TravellerAsian the hot pools weren't really hot, all in the 38 degree range only. That struck me as odd and disappointing. On my second visit with some other friends just a few days later that was rectified, pool temperatures raged from 37.x to 40.x, as is to be expected.

 

All 4 pools (3 hot and 1 cold) are pretty large, accommodating quite a number of people, unlike the soda bath pool at Yunomori, which is rather small. The very large Onsen bath pool at Yunomori is always so hot (42), I never really go into it. 

 

The jacuzzi is peculiar in that it has the 3 seated booths and the 2 standing booths. The seated ones are pretty as any regular jacuzzi, nothing special. The standing ones, however, have much more powerful jets, coming from various directions, including from below. The result is that when standing there and positioning yourself appropriately (one good position is turning around to face the wall) you get a pretty strong massage of your dick and balls. Recommended!

 

The general atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, as you'd expect from an upscale onsen. Ceilings are very high (similar to Yunomori BKK), which adds to the pleasant roomy feeling (better than the low ceilings of Yunomori Singapore). As someone pointed out earlier here, the attendants are, well, quite attentive, and make sure nothing untoward happens, and also remind patrons who engage in conversation to keep their voices down. They do this my showing any offending guests a small placard with a silence symbol and some text to that effect. Also, they frequently wipe away into the drains any excess water on the floor. 

 

 

On both visits I didn't have enough time to try the hot stone room, unfortunately, so that aill be a reason to go back hehe. 

 

Summary: excellent onsen experience, though overall pretty similar to Yunomori BKK. But it is larger, feels even roomier, has some more and bigger pools, the special dick&balls massage jacuzzi lol. But it is also considerably more expensive, from Jan 1st increased to 700 Baht compared to 482 Baht at Yunomori. Given the price and the much farther distance (for me) I probably won't become a regular there, but continue to mostly go to the cheaper and much more conveniently located Yunomori. But definitely worth going, by all means. 

 

Oh and before I forget: it gets a bit busier in the evening, after office hours (same as Yunomori), and then there is eye candy to be had too, of course haha
