I'm a fan of onsen hopping in Japan, gay or straight. I mean the legit ones among mountains…lol. This newly-opened "onsen" in Bangkok really got me all excited! So for those new to the onsen, what can you expect? 

 

I visited in December on a Monday evening around 6 pm which was a normal workday in Bangkok, at that hour it was already quite packed. A friend tried to join me at 8 pm but he had to wait at reception as they ran out of lockers! At 450 THB per entry, it was not cheap for locals. I believe they are targeting a more exclusive clientele. The reception ladies spoke fluent English and registration was a breeze to my relief. Just has to show some form of identification and I provided a Thai contact number to sign up as a member. I was also told about the 1-for-1 promo, meaning I can visit the next day for free!

 

The procedure was the same as any chain onsen in Japan. You take off your shoes and keep them in dedicated shoe lockers. I was given a huge bag containing a Yukata robe and towels, and up I went to the level 2 changing room. At a glance, the customers seems to be mostly youthful and attractive-looking Thai males around their 20s to 30s. (older guys were around I'm sure..hehe) What a feast to the eyes! I quickly stripped naked and grabbed the small towel to head to the bath area downstairs.

 

After a bath, I started to explore the area. Most of the visible action happened within the steam room which was packed with little standing room...  like 30 over-naked guys fondling each other! Was too crowded for me so I proceeded to the warm soak pool which was way too cold for me! I then went up to change into Yukata to explore the other floors.

Level 3 was a huge lounge with a cafe counter and many sofa seats. They serve some delicious-looking drinks and you can also bring your mobile phone up here. 

 

Level 4 had some massage chairs you can use for free, and behind are partitioned rooms you can nap or do other stuff inside..lol.

Level 5 must be the "Cruising Zone" I guess, which had an outdoor maze and aircon rooms with floor mats, and people hanging around waiting to pair up for some hot action. 

 

The onsen was tastefully designed with Japanese pine wood aesthetics. Overall it was a pleasant and discreet ''gay sauna" experience, quite different from the hardcore saunas like Mania, R3 etc. Do visit this place if you are in Bangkok! (Before the China gay tourists invade this place...lol)

i think it is originally a straight onsen but somehow, majority of the patrons are gay. this is what i think.

Zen onsen is definately a gay sauna. Try to head upstairs where they have rooms with lube and tissues. It is not dark though, quite brightly lit.

Sorry for the late reply. R3 i think foreigner price is 390 baht, compared to sauna mania which is 490 baht. i also received 1 free weekday pass but i didn't end up using since i only left one more night and wasn't really in the mood to go sauna again

I dont think any straight onsen will be an all guys onsen. It is definitely build with gay clienteles as their main traffic and business driver in the initial business proposal.

Ahhh so Shiok. I arrived in BKK ytd. My experience is that saunas in Bangkok tend to start winding down at about 8.30 pm. 

 

I am not saying the saunas will be empty by 10.00 pm, but generally, they will not be as crowded.

 

I would say the exception might be during Christmas or New Year countdown or something like that.

 

You will need to plan how to return to your accommodation after your fun time in the sauna if you plan to visit the sauna after 10.00 pm.

You can always try other massage places. There are a lot of them in Sapan Kwai area. Search for Zen Time massage, Kline Zen, Body Nice massage etc. you’ll get masseuses that are more local and more genuineness. Of course , you’ll need to travel a bit but it is accessible by BTS

Jay from Natural Massage is good indeed BUT I’ve been to the Prime Massage seven times and any of them is more skilled than Jay in terms of massage because they are really just another level. However, Jay did positions that no Prime masseurs ever did. He placed my head on a pillow in his lap and kept kneading my upper chest which was very comfortable, to say the least

Same, I got one on 28-Jan. No talk of money. I also tipped 400baht and in my opinion it is not a bad amount. We got lucky. Sekali same masseur lmao.

Agree with don’t act an atas or LCLY. Everybody’s there hustling to make a living so be kind.

Best is to show up at Prime earlier in person to book the slot you want. If you go in the late morning, you should still be able to secure a same-day appointment. Their phone is 02 6342078 but they are not answering their phone or Line these days.

Have been browsing through the past few pages of this thread and decided to try him following tomcat's review. Found the idea of a friendly guy fitting for one of my first experiences exploring. Was so disappointed that I'm making an account to post this. Will share my experience below.

 

Made an appointment for 9pm with Jay - for a 2hr oil massage. I arrived promptly at 8.50. Jay was eating and took some time finishing his meal before guiding me to the room (totally fine with that).

 

He was pretty stone-cold with a blank face throughout. Didn't ask me to shower or anything, brought me to the room then left. Didn't think much of it, I flashed a smile when handing him my towel after I showered and he briefly smiled back. Ok so far so good.

 

The massage was pretty... mediocre. But ok, I really didn't expect much cos I was more looking forward to some casual conversation (I like talking with new people, esp from diff cultures) and the possibility of a HE.

 

He KEPT massaging my glutes and quite literally my nether area in between, with his hand shaped like a knife about to slice a cake (lol pun unintended). Ok whatever, maybe he took tomcat's advice literally but hey I'm not into that at all.

But he .. rubbed my feet and hands a bit and then said "Ok finish." I said "Special..?" He said "No. Tomorrow." Um ok at that point I was just done so I said ok thanks. 

 

So I got less than a 1h45min massage for a 2hour session, which comprised of general rubbing, and otherwise dick, balls and nipple groping. The only decent massage I got was when I sat up and he worked on my shoulders and neck.

 

I did not experience any head in pillow/lap thing. I did not really get much conversation or questions, or "a face looking at me and ready for interaction when I opened my eyes". I didn't even turn him down with my responses. But nothing really happened and I left feeling like I'd wasted my time.

 

Gave him a 200 tip though the experience was really mediocre (don't know what's the norm for a normal massage). Also he got my shoes wrong... twice. I had to walk to the shoe racks to pick out my shoes myself lol. This isn't something I'd mind - just find it funny that nothing was going well the whole night.

 

The only positive I had from this was that the boss is really nice. My friend was waiting for me outside before my time was up and he welcomed him inside to sit. 

 

If I were to postulate, it might be that Jay has become somewhat arrogant. I asked him if he has many customers and he said "Yes." Perhaps most succumb to his first or second "Special massage?" ask and that's just what he goes for from now on. There was no friendly/humble guy after I said "Normal massage first" the second time he asked. Felt like I was being rubbed by a ghost with an agenda.  

 

WELP I just felt compelled to write this, not to bring anyone down - but to warn any similar soul reading this and thinking of booking a session with Jay. From this experience, what I can gather is that he's honestly just interested in getting a big tip from you and will very explicitly touch you in all the areas to try to get you to succumb. He'll tune his answers and try to please you but if you don't give in, he turns into a dead experience.

 

If this is what you're looking for then all the more power to you. But if you're looking for a *passable* massage with some nice engagement, it's probably hit or miss. And needless to say, I'm not returning. (Also unrelated to my whole experience but I really found him just ordinary looking in person. Not something I'd wow at. Yeah looks are subjective but still doing a PSA to share).

I agree that Jay isn’t good looking. I just wanted to try him because Tomcat gave him such a glowing review. However, like I said, he’s just alright. A pity that Bi-and-Large experienced his coldness. 
 

Not all at Prime are hunky. Got plump ones so u have to know how to request / reject. But their massage skills are fantastic. Seriously great deep massage, like for example for oil massage, usually for belly and chest, people will do round palm circle motions. I got the best massage of my life by this guy who massaged my chest and stomach with precise movements and sequences, from upper abs to middle to lower abs properly and deliberately, not shoddily.

All action happens in the steam room, but private rooms available upstairs if you match someone.

 

It is a little bit far from town, station N11, so if you're going to catch a BTS home, need to leave by 11.30pm as BTS finishes at midnight.

 

No lube or condoms supplied.

 

Cost was THB490. I ended up coming here the second time because I was deciding between Sauna Mania or this place...and knowing Sauna Mania's high foreigner fee and absolutely zero maintenance/hygiene, it was a no brainer for me.

I am Cantonese. 樣 is pronounce "yeong" in Cantonese, but unless we use phonetics, the Romanisation of this word (plus intonation) is difficult to carry across. 

 

"Yong" Romanisation comes through with a Hakka accent.
