Steve5380
How is underground 39 crowd and cleanliness compare to Sauna mania? Sauna mania is very dirty but good crowd.. i was advised by my thai friend underground 39 is not worth going (is it true?). As for Chakran, its a sunset place. Crowd is thin now its not worth going except perhaps Saturday. Few months ago, i was at Chakran at about 6 plus Saturday...crowd quality was bad and it was quite empty compare to previously (less than 25 guys) so i left for Sauna mania. Sauna mania was jam packed with guys. Babylon, unless for special event days, there are really a lot of very old Caucasians only. I will just go for the gym and the good food mainly. Sauna Mania vs. 39 Underground? I didn't notice much difference in cleanliness (I don't go around in saunas with a magnifying glass looking for dirt). The crowd is of about the same type, which I find pleasing, but I had more fun at Sauna Mania. The building of 39-underground seems to have been designed for dwarfs, and there are many stairs to go up and down. But the place is conveniently located near the Ari station of the MRT. You could try both and see for yourself.
abang
I was in Babylon in June 2013, after many years of "not-visiting" it. Sadly as a person who is more comfortable in the presence of Westerners, I have to agree that the place was swarmed by older Ang Mo... those that I dont even want to give the first look.I was hunted by a few of them... and gave them my "Dragon-Lady" stare to ward them off. All said, the food at the restaurant is still quite good.

This is where Bangkok can make or break relationships. If your relationship is a bit rocky, there is more than ample "lure/distraction" in Bangkok. If what you and your bf want are the same then well and good but if one party wants to party and the other is going along just for the ride or just to make the other partner happy then beware,

To take it positively, it should open up new understanding in the couple where faith, respect and trust are cultivated. Go to BKK with an open mind. Putting away all the gay temptations there, the Land Of Smiles is actually rather spiritual (having not colonized before). The energy in this country will make one to relax and enjoy. Putting away all the gay temptations there, the Land Of Smiles is actually rather spiritual (having not colonized before). The energy in this country will make one to relax and enjoy. On a recent trip to Bangkok, I came across signs to "beware of snatch thieves". Given the big divide between the rich and the poor, I wonder why there is not more crime in Bkk or is it just not reported? I dont know if my theory is correct but do people not resort to crime cos there is a belief in karma i.e. if you do bad now, your next life will be bad? In a way I feel sad for the country, there is so much potential especially with respect to labour. There is so much waiting and time wasted, from the person who scans a torchlight into your bag before you head onto the mrt (god knows what he or she is looking for), to the people who wait for customers at shops e.g. at the weekend Chatuchak markets, to the people who wait for customers for foot and other body part massages. So much labour that can be put to much better use. Having only been to the major cities, I think one does form a warped opinion of the country too - it would be good to live for a bit in the other parts of the country. Enelym1978
Noted. For 1st timer to BKK would like to go taste local food, local life, massage, pub maybe, which area recommended to stay? Well Silom area has all that you want, except the huge malls. You have hotels for every budget, you have street food, you have small local eateries, plenty of massage places (clean or with happy ending), clubs and bars. Coolbriz
Going BKK 17 Nov. It's one of my many trips there although I didn't explore much. Always go for my favorite routine:1) Eat at MK Steamboat at Siam Paragon. For steamboat lover, it's a must try. There are many branches though.2) Massage at Ruen Nuad at Convent Rd, probably trying Thai Thai. Used to visit a korean owned massage parlor - Soulleafhouse but wound up unfortunately.3) Shop at Platinum mall, MBK, now adding terminal 21 to my list. Heard that Suanlum night bazaar is closed and Asiatique riverfront is an alternative. Perhaps a meaningful place to visit since 17 Nov is the last day of Loy Kratong festival. 4) Exploring more straight massage parlors that are gay-friendly. Thanks to you guys giving more and more reviews 5) Might be trying one or two Sauna after reading so much about them here! 6) Staying at my usual quiet little boutique hotel, Imm Fusion at Sukhumvit, near On Nut BTS, priced at S$40-50 per night. Relatively far from central area but since it's 1-2min walk to On Nut BTS, I don't find it inconvenient at all. 7) Always go for the street hawker food like pork satay and my favorite Tangerine juice Edited November 9, 2013 by Coolbriz Quote Be cool, like a breeze... Manbane
Just came back from Thai Thai massage. My partner was offered special but he rejected..therapist was not pushy and massage is good. I did foot reflex and the masseur even recognized me and asked where is my bf( he did massage 2 hrs earlier than me). So I guess maybe they offer special to familiar faces like me. Even my Thai friend who visit the joint once a month was surprised when I tell hiim about the special. He was like "how come they never offer me" lol
Manbane
Went thai Thai again , this time for Thai massage. Therapist offered special but was not pushy. Cute guy with fit body but is probably straight. He didn't try to tease like my previous therapists. My partner was not offered special this time. Massage is pretty good.Bangkok is still pretty peaceful despite all the protests going on. Just avoid places near Parliament House and Cambodia embassy. There was some gathering of protestors from silom in the afternoon before they move out .
Caleb
Did not try thai thai massage when i visited silom 2 months back although the bonny massage and the one before it around the area was quite sensual ones with quite a good range of masseurs. Tried uniman and guy spa at sukhumvit on my trip last month. massage was non sensual but quite ok. More expensive than silom ones but facilities better with in room shower. It is sandwiched between a couple of massage shops so it can be confusing at first. If you look for the shop sign, it is easier to look for it at the level of at the top of the stairs going to the bts ticketing area rather than at ground level.
