There was a small placard at the waiting area, the minimum is 100 baht.

But I always tip at least half of the whatever the cost of massage, unless the quality is absolutely horrendous.

In this case, it was 450 baht, I tipped a bit extra (380 baht) because:

 

1. Slipped my mind to tip him the first time round

2. He was very good, definitely deserved at least 200 baht

I've only stayed at the InterCon from your list... it's really not bad, new rooms, floor to ceiling windows and good location.

 

Four Seasons is a bit out of the way if you want to be close to BTS and shopping belt.

 

You're kind of asking advices on three very distinctive categories though... from cheap HI to IC to higher end Four Seasons.

Oh loops my bad, I mixed up the Four Seasons with the Shangri-La, which is by the river. Four Seasons is not bad location wise, it's just next to Grand Hyatt Erawan. I stayed there two weeks ago and it's nice if you get the renovated rooms. The pool is nice as well.

 

I got upgraded to a suite there so can't tell you how the regular rooms are but service is good. You can get deals sometimes but otherwise it's quite pricey. More expensive than the IC I'm sure.

 

Didn't hate anything about that one really haha. Walking distance to four face buddha, Chit Lom BTS station, Gaysorn, Central World, Zen....

I always go to Yunomori Onsen when I have time, using the onsen is nice already. Tried the massage once, got a 40+ guy but I didn't think the massage was that good.... price wise, it's exactly the same as any other massage places in town.

Reviews say the Four Seasons is old and pretty disappointing so i m skeptical. I don't think I am booking a suite so, likely not as lucky as you.

 

Anyone stayed at Erawan Hyatt? They have a great spa... Not sure if its accessible for all hotel guests.

 

Most of the (Grand) Hyatts make their guests pay for the use of their wet facilities: Seoul (Grand Hyatt), Tokyo (Hyatt Regency).

You get to use it for free if you're Gold Passport Platinum or Diamond though. But in India, all guests have access (both Grand Hyatts and Hyatt Regency).

 

Didn't get a chance to try the one at the GH Erawan.

Do try Healthland, for no hanky panky massage. That one is a little bit pricey, but definitely very good.

 

As for massage places in Thailand, it is always better to get someone, preferably a masseuse, that understands

your aches, and problem areas. Sometime you tell the counter staff, and they never really pass on the

concerns to the actual masseuse. That has happened to me countless times, and sometimes if payment

is not yet made, I will stop the massage, or request for change.

 

So communication is key, never choose solely by picture. Hot boys sometimes have rough hands, because

they are 1. straight, 2. come from poorer towns so have had to work labour or agriculture.
