I'm planning a trip to Bangkok and I'd like to visit a sauna and a go-go bar. I'm having a hard time deciding on which is the best sauna as there seems to be very conflicting reviews. Like here: http://www.travelgayasia.com/bangkok-gay-saunas/, 90% of the reviews are negative, so anyone can verify which sauna is worth going? Also any recommendations on a fun go-go bar but not "aggressive" for first timers? And is it safe to take a boy back for "fun" from bars?

Most gogo boys are straight n not gay. My advise is mutual agreement on what u can do with them, suck, fuck etc and how much. Get all these agreed first else you will be in for a hard time if they wont let you do this and that or they charge you unreasonable price after the act

I can't comment on the go-go bars, but for the saunas don't worry too much about the negtive reviews. It all depends on what you expect. Clearly Babylon is the best in terms of facilities, but this is one mostly for Asians into Westerners & Westerners into Asians. R3, Sauna Mania and Chakran are mostly Asian/Asian. Sauna Mania is definitely good on the naked nights (even I as a westerner usually had good fun there), and the same is true for R3, though as a westerner I found it much more difficult to get some action. The orgy parties at R3 can be fun if you have never experienced something like that. 

 

So if you're Asian and into Westerners, go to Babylon. If you're Asian and into Asins, go to Sanua Mania (naked night) and/or R3. You'll have fun, don't worry :-)

Help: Not so familiar with taking Airasia...managed to find info on how to get out from Don Meang to downtown, but back to Don Meang Airport? Is taxi the only way? Is there a bus to get there from Mochit/Chatuchak?

Hi Bkkboy,

If Asian guys are your thing then best to go Chakran near Ari BTS station. If westerners then the famous Babylon sauna. Guys in Babylon tends to be friendly than in Chakran. At the latter guys tend to be more hunky and twinky so I guess tend to be more choosy.

As for gogo bars, I'm not so much an expert as Bkkandy, but I suggest two worth going to:

1. Jupiter which is not in Soi Pratuchai (Boytown) but kinda opposite it. The shows there are slick and more classy. The boys train hard and have more professional performances. The dances tend to be sexy without being crass. There is however a shower show where the performers go naked and a big cock show at the end. As an Asian, I do find the gogo boys there more attractive as well. More fair-looking boys targeting the China market. This is probably my favorite gogo boy venue.

2. Dreamboys - this is one of the largest gogo boy venues in Bangkok. Show here is more crude and shows a lot more cock. There are usually funny skits by the ladyboys who perform. There are dance numbers followed by a naked performance. There are also more gogo boys on stage here. In addition, at the end of the Dreamboys show you can take your drink and go downstairs to another gogo boy show owned by the same owner and a second show will continue.

As for aggressiveness, both are ok. If the captain/Mamasan sees you are interested in a guy, they will push you to buy him a drink. You have the right to do so or say no. Usually you have to pay a bar fine of 400-700 baht and a tip to the guy you off 1500-2000 baht. Jupiter boys, although cute are quite expensive at 2000 baht I think is the tip for short time, and not always good in bed. Dream boys have a better reputation in this regard. However, it depends on the rapport between you and the boy you off. Show respect and treat them well and it will go a long way. As for safety some hotels will ask for your guests ID, this is for your safety. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask anything:)

Hi Jefferson,

Your best bet would be a hotel in silom, near Sala Deng BTS skytrain station.

Bally's next to the famous DJ station and Silom Soi 2(the centre of gay clubbing for Bangkokians) is good but a bit more pricy. This is located on Simon road.

Also Wall Street Inn is on Suriwong Road. This hotel is nearer to Boy Town (Soi Pratuchai). Only problem is that I heard this hotel charges to bring joiners back to the room which is really silly considering their main clientele are Aj guys going to boy town.

The Pavillion Place was a pretty good hotel for me before. Near boy town and cheap and I got upgraded to a suite before. They don't charge for joiners.

Last one I can recommend is Montien hotel, four star a bit more expensive but literally next to Boytown.

Hero is definitely still open. You may also want to check Bananna club since it is walking distance from Hero. If you can't remember where Hero is catch the BTS skytrain to Nana station, exit on your left hand side and look for soi 11, and catch a motorcyc (motorbike taxi) and just say 'Pai Hero krub', cost is 20 baht. If not just walk down soi 11 and turn left on the fork and walk to almost the end of the soi. Hero and Bananna is on the left.

Andybkk suggested Arena in silom complex, I haven't been but it sounds like they have similar type of guys as hero. Another place is V-club in Chakran sauna near Ari BTS station.

Jay Jay is right about Wall Street Inn, I have stayed there several years ago and they were not welcoming of joiners, and did charge for that. Maybe that's different now, but apparently not as Jay says the same.

 

Another "classic" option on Surawong Road is Tarntawan Place Hotel, which is a mostly gay hotel. Very comfortable, mit range hotel. No problems with joiners (except they require the joiner to deposit their ID at the security desk for security reasons, which I hear other hotels do as well and whcih seems a reasonable precaution to me). What I like best about this hotel is that you can have breakfast 24 hours a day, so no matter how long you sleep, if you want to have breakfast you can!

in fact a lot of the guys in the gay sex business in Thailand are straight, and unless you ask you won't even notice. Guess it has to do with a generally more relaxed view towards sexuality there.
