abang
Another low-price invasion into Singapore.Looks like a rip-off (and enhanced) version of Samsung.. There are 2 versions:a. $169 (to be released wef 21 Feb 2014)http://www.xiaomi.com/sg/ b. $419 (to be released wef 7 Mar 2014)http://www.xiaomi.com/en/mi3 Looks like a good buy for a spare phone... Dorkable
It was sold out within that first 3 mins. Wonder how many were actually launched. I want to get Mi3. By the way, Redmi is Redmi while Mi3 is Mi3. They are both different cellphone models. So there are no two versions of Redmi. azimuth
I am looking at Redmi. The dual SIM mode is actually quite good for travelling. :-)
Dorkable
Sad thing is, some ugly buyers who managed to get their hands on a few sets of Redmi are now reselling them at a jacked up price of about $100 more. However, in doing so, it only makes the far more powerful budget cellphone, Moto G, a more worthy choice to buy.
abang
I believe the local telcos are offering them next week...Starhub offers $169 in their prepaid package and $0 for their postpaid. http://www.starhub.com/personal/promotions/mobile/redmi.html There is absolutely no rush at all as SingTel and M1 are rolling out their offers next week too. Source: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-singtel-announces-xiaomi-redmi-smartphone-price-plans Don't know how far it applies, at least in Singapore, without a contract or with a contract, you pay the same amount, might as well get phone subsidy from the telco, may it be a few hundred dollars over two years. abang
I believe the cheapest "adult" plan is almost $40 monthly.Multiply by 24 months (a standard 2 year package), it would be $960. So yes I agree that the value of the "discount/subsidy" has to be substantial if a contract of 2 years is included in the sale. **Moderator:Shall we lump all topics regarding this Redmi/Hongmi/Xiaomi into one?
