Yesterday decided to visit CHIVAS at woodlands for a massage. Booked my appointment at 7 pm, arrived on time only to find him waiting at his HDB flat and big smile greeted me at the entrance. The massage room was dedicated with a proper massage table, and the eucalyptus aroma that was prepared before the client arrival was welcoming. After the shower in the adjoining bathroom, the massage begun, started with the usual back pressing and moving on to the accupoints finger press massage. The skill was good. The pressure was also right, as he constantly asked for your comfort level. After an hour approximately, he moved on to oil massage where the strokes were firm and applied with the right pressure.

He prefers to chit chat and catch up with regular clients - what's going on, etc, but is equally ok with just quietly providing his best service if the client prefers a quiet time. The background music was soothing anyway. I had a sports injury on the right knee recently, so told him to be careful when massaging that area. Later, he applied his hot stone therapy on that right knee area, and the relief was effectively felt. We also exchanged thoughtts about doing proper stretching before and after any strenous exercise.

Unexpectedly, the massage stretched to over 2 hours, before i could realize. Overall, skill , ambience, service level, setting were all top marks. The masseur is friendly, knows rhe client's needs, and is committed to providing his best level of quality massage. Do give it a try.

Finally decided to give Chivas' massage a try yesterday as I had just came back from overseas and been having a stinging neck/shoulder sprain. I have been reading this forum for quite a long while now and have always procrastinated about visiting him. But the affordability and the reviews from others kinda made me wanna go for it!

 

He is such a pleasant man and who is very passionate about his talent and skills.

 

He made me feel at ease and relaxed as soon as I met him.

 

We had a chat before the massage began and he took the time to explain his massage background and history and to also find out regarding the areas which I need his massage to be focused on (my neck sprain).

 

He focused a lot on my pain area and his touches really felt amazing.. im a huge chubby guy and was very surprised that he was able to exert a lot of pressure on the right spots..

 

And the hot stones treatment felt quite amazing i must say. Usually ive just seen hot stones being placed on people's backs during massages but Chivas', he applied the heat from the stones throughout all parts of my body and it felt damn good and refreshing!

 

Not to mention the sensual hot stone treatment which he included which was in a way, out of this world! Never knew i can withstand pleasurable heat in my nether regions! hehe..

 

My massage took up at least around 2 hours 15 minutes and he didnt mind that all and i still paid him $88 for a 2 hr package plus a wee bit of tip..

 

My neck/shoulders felt tonnes better today. But my lower back kinda hurts a lot. which is my fault, coz i should have informed him that my lower back was kinda susceptible to pain and to ask him not exert too much pressure on my lower back.. BUT at that time, it felt so good that I couldnt bear to tell him to stop.. hehe..

 

Will definitely be going back to get another round of massage before the year wraps up!!

Hello readers of blowing wind. Its been awhile since I posted a review of the home based massage here. However, I did try Chivas's Home Based Massage (HBM) and I had such a fantastic experience that I thought I should share with you guys.

 

I just came back from a 4D3N Camp (Yup, I work as a part time camp instructor, conducting sports and leadership camps for various organizations and schools) and apart from my broken voice, my legs were aching as we had to do lots of walking and since I was incharge of safety for kayaking,  I got burnt in the sun and my arms were aching horribly by the end of the camp. I was in desperate need of a massage and found Chivas's HBM thread, thus decided to give it a try.

 

I went for the 2hr Massage Package which included 1) Body Scrub 2) Hot Stone Massage 3) Balinese Massage 4) Sports Massage and 5) Shaitsu Massage for an affordable price of SGD$88.

 

When I met him at his void deck, he greeted me with a warm smile and started making conversation which I find really rare these days. I immediately felt really welcomed and comfortable with him. He lives in a 4 room HDB flat and has a designated room specially for his massage-related business. There was a proper massage bed and it was air conditioned. We chatted more in the room, mainly discussing on which body part that was aching and where he should focus on during the massage. He also explained in detail the types of massages that he does so that us customers won't be left confused/cheated. He also explained to me on the differences between a good massage experience and a bad one so that in the future, I would be able to keep a look out and not get cheated by massage parlours etc.

 

Since I already showered, I simply stripped naked and lay on the bed while he worked on my body. He started off by giving me the non-oil massage - A towel covering your body and he would put an adequate amount of pressure on it. The thing about Chivas that sets him apart from other masseurs is that he would constantly ask if the pressure that he exerts is comfortable or not, simply to make sure that his customers are alright. 

 

After the non-oil massage, he proceeded on to the oil massage and boy, I enjoyed that  the most. His hands are really firm and he somehow knows exactly where to exert pressure. Within an hour, I could feel all the knots being untied. He focused mainly on my shoulders and my calves which were hurting the most. It was really professionally done and I dare say that I doubt any other HBM could achieve that. I felt so relieved after that and as he worked on my body, he occasionally would tell me which parts needed more focus and would explain to me as to why it ached. 

 

The last part was the sensual massage cum hot stone massage. The feeling was sensational. The stones were not too hot and just nice when rubbed on my back. The feeling was out the world. Ive never had such a sensation before and it is a definitely a must-try. 

 

After which I was led to shower and after washing up, I was given a cut of hot plain water. While I slowly gulped the hot water,  he explained to me on the techniques he used and asked for feedback regarding his skills and performance for that session. He took the good and bad comments with an open mind and seek to improve further. I was amazed by his professionalism and how serious he took each and every of his customers.

 

He is definitely one of the better masseurs present and I highly recommend Chivas to all Blowing Wind readers who are looking for a professional and out-of-the-world massage (:

I lead an extremely active lifestyle, and decided to pay Chivas a visit today. All in all, it was a top class experience, easily the best massage I have ever received.

Chivas is extremely professional and dedicated to giving his clients the most value for their money, and even more! He happily met me at his void deck to escort me to his house. Before we started the massage, we sat down to have a chat about my needs and expectations (mainly relief of my sore shoulders, back and legs) we had a detailed discussion of my physical activities, and we discussed the massage techniques that he would use. He even explained how the different techniques work, and it is clear that he knows exactly what he is doing. It was exactly like a doctor's visit, but a lot more light-hearted. He was totally committed to me leaving his place with a refreshed and released body.

When Chivas started, it was immediately clear that he is a grand master of massage. All his strokes were assertive and targeted exactly where my trigger points were. It was truly a revolutionary experience - never once did it feel like he was going through the motions. Every stroke was deliberate and effective, aimed at releasing tension and helping my body to relax. He is very knowledgable of the techniques needed to unknot the muscles in every part of the body, and I left his place feeling like a huge burden was lifted off my body.

The hot stone massage was truly a mind blowing experience!! The heat from the stones really penetrated down into the bone and melted away all the muscle tightness and tension. Combined with his effective strokes, I felt like I was in heaven.

Throughout the session, Chivas was jovial and made very comfortable conversation. I lead an extremely active lifestyle, and decided to pay Chivas a visit today. All in all, it was a top class experience, easily the best massage I have ever received.

Chivas is extremely professional and dedicated to giving his clients the most value for their money, and even more! He happily met me at his void deck to escort me to his house. Before we started the massage, we sat down to have a chat about my needs and expectations (mainly relief of my sore shoulders, back and legs) we had a detailed discussion of my physical activities, and we discussed the massage techniques that he would use. He even explained how the different techniques work, and it is clear that he knows exactly what he is doing. It was exactly like a doctor's visit, but a lot more light-hearted. He was totally committed to me leaving his place with a refreshed and released body.

When Chivas started, it was immediately clear that he is a grand master of massage. All his strokes were assertive and targeted exactly where my trigger points were. It was truly a revolutionary experience - never once did it feel like he was going through the motions. Every stroke was deliberate and effective, aimed at releasing tension and helping my body to relax. He is very knowledgable of the techniques needed to unknot the muscles in every part of the body, and I left his place feeling like a huge burden was lifted off my body.

The hot stone massage was truly a mind blowing experience!! The heat from the stones really penetrated down into the bone and melted away all the muscle tigh againtness and tension. Combined with his effective strokes, I felt like I was in heaven.

Throughout the session, Chivas was jovial and made very comfortable conversation. My mind and body were both at ease and I was very lucky to have found such a dedicated and competent home-based masseur. Hey guys I'm back with another field report on Chivas's Massage. I've been to him before and thus, this post will be more focused on the skills and after-effect of the massage rather than the usual descriptive report on him.

 

I have received a couple of messages from some of you guys regarding his stats etc. Well to some of you whom I haven't replied, thats because I wasn't sure if Chivas was comfortable with me sharing his stats with everyone. Well, Ive paid him a visit again and he has kindly given me the approval to share his stats to you guys, for those interested.

 

Chivas is a really nice Indian man, about 170cm in height. He usually dons a singlet during the massage session, probably because he exerts such great yet impactful force during the massage and that would keep him cool during the session. I've had sessions with other masseurs who had to pause multiple times to drink water/wipe their sweat etc, which can get quite annoying at times. He has a really warm smile and to be really honest, I've never met a masseur who is so dedicated and passionate about massages.

 

I lead a really hectic lifestyle and somehow when I came for the massage, while explaining to him the body parts that I want him to focus on during the session, I managed to rant a little and he would listen and give me advice regarding my body and surprisingly, life itself which I find really meaningful. It connects the customer-massuer relation to a deeper level and gave me a sense of comfort in knowing that he understood my problems and would try his best to help me out - by relieving the pains/aches on my body.

 

Although I booked an appointment with him pretty last minute, he gave his best even though I was his last customer and frankly, I am really grateful to him. As a student, I don't earn much. But yet I make it a point that I need to go for his massage at least once a month because the after effect is so good, its even better than some of the spa/commercial massages that I've tried in the past.

 

The after-effect:

Other than the aches being much relieved, I felt so fresh and rejuvenated. Its almost like I have a new set of body parts, ready to be used for another month. Being a student and working part time, I don't really get much sleep most of the time, but hell, I slept like a baby that night and I woke up feeling refreshed and I noticed that I don't really feel as tired as I usually would! Im assuming that these effects are due to the Hot Stones Massage that he provides aka his speciality.

 

For those of you who are not familiar with home-based masseur services/new to this thread and are looking for a proper yet affordable masseur, do give chivas a try. Really value for money
