Religion deals with the unknown, and therefore it is nothing but speculation. But we still can use reason to assign PROBABILITIES to religious doctrines. Religions themselves cause the probability of being true to be abysmally low. Because each claims to be true, therefore all the others must be false. I think Tom is right: there is no concrete answer, thus we cannot know in this life. Bible is full of implausible statements that lead to contradictory interpretations. Not for nothing there are hundreds of denominations with different doctrines. Also true is that we can be righteous, happy people without any involvement of Gods, religions. I am a little more optimistic in that I see the possibility that religions will keep losing power. At least the organized religions are unable to fight the heretics who publish all these articles on the internet for all to see. If someone is really "affecting" your life - cut them off. If they are your colleague/boss - then do something about it. Handle them better. If can't, find a better work culture. Guest Guest Posted December 21, 2015 Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 Once, I have joined a tour group , the family complained almost about everything from food to hotel and coach , etc , I followed them like wise but told them I have joined many tours and had never encounter so many unpleasant stuff and I suddenly realized it all began with their first complained upon arrival , everything started to go downhill ! I decided to tell them that they are certainly jinx for the group , told them to leave the tour group ,away from us and pack their bad lucks with them instead of spreading their complaining luck unto others !
