Guest annoying
I am getting rids of my tattoos its not because the design i put it's awful but i can't tolerate how people are judging me because of my tattoos . I have to wear long pants to cover my tattoos wherever i go , because of the stares i got in public and earlier on someone lump me together with another tattoo guy because the old hag assume that we know each other because we both have tattoos ? All this judgmental eyes staring at me and i realize it's enough. I should have listened to my mom not to ink and she even told me as i grow up i will regret and she was spot on , i regret. And i am only 24........ Sigh. How good if Singapore society mindset could be like America open minded and mind their own frigging business. Sorry for the rants . conclusion : if you wanna get ink , don ink at obvious places in your body .
LFM
thanks for sharing your experience and what you make of it, dude. I still at times contemplate getting one done, that of an eagle, for its symbolism of faredightedness and focus, as if targeting a prey from way up in the sky. my dad told me back then he'd chase me out of the house should I come home with a tattoo, associating such with gang. I used to work with them and am still awed by the talented work of the craftsmen/women these days especially. my younger colleague not long ago told me regarding something else, "no matter what kind of exercises method we adopt, all that matters is what people can see in obvious results." we'd take this applies to what we can achieve with physical and mental wellbeing which can project others our confidence in who were are, look, and character, an important part both sides in building sustainable genuine relationship with persons. easier said yet doable, without without our need 'accessory' 'accessory'? farsightedness

LFM
... we believe Beckham would be still famous and influential on his own strength (on the soccer pitch), even without his tattoos or Posh.

Sorry for the rants . conclusion : if you wanna get ink , don ink at obvious places in your body . Recently, I met a friend who just inked on his right biceps. I have always hoped to ink one there as well, not because it is pretty cool, but because I felt it represents me more a person (not sure if I make sense). People inked for different purposes, but I feel you should not get rid of the tattoos just because of what other people, who do not know you, feels. Your friends and families shouldn't mind this. Removing your tattoos is a long and painful process. Whatever your decision, jia you!

They are actually happy when people look at them. They wanted attention.
Guest Don't regret
Beliefs, character, loves, mantras, mottos and other wisdom to live by are often best left in the heart. Showing it on your tattoos somehow seems superficial and immature. If you do get a tattoo, at least make sure it comes within "刻骨铭心” or "铭记于心” category. Eg. In memory of someone lost, contrition....Most people who don't have tattoos will tend to have presumptions about people who do. What's so wrong about that since the one who is inked obviously wanted to convey something in the first place?Any piece of art, even by the masters, will have its detractors. Not everyone will interpret the tattoo in the way you want them to. If you permanently put it on show, then I'm sorry, man up and take the good with the bad. If you do not want people to have too many preconceived notions about you, then be more inscrutable and say less (verbally or bodily). Otherwise, I'm afraid it's a case of 讲多错多. Guest 72%dark
Sighz... C'mon peeps, give the guy a break, youthful impulsiveness is nothing new. If we find ourselves in a position to give someone well-meaning advice before they do something permanent and possibly to their own detriment, we should definitely speak up. But if it's already happened, saying essentially "I told you so" just makes him feel bad and doesn't help the situation. On the topic of tattoos, I think it's also worth reflecting on how much of the lingering prejudice against it is irrational. Having a tattoo doesn't necessarily signal membership in a gang, or commitment to a type of lifestyle; for many it expresses an aesthetic choice of some type, differing from other choices of personal adornment only in style and permanence. Even if it were chosen as a visible expression of a personal philosophy of some kind, this isn't wrong in itself. (Just think, if this principle were wrong in and of itself, then t-shirts with slogans, pins signifying group membership, and so on would also be "superficial and immature", which is not automatically the case.) I get that some people just don't like the look of it, but there's no need to turn that aesthetic judgment into condemnation and drawing negative inferences about the person's character. Cos as you know that would just be superficial. (And no, I'm not saying this cos I have tattoos of my own that I'm defensive about. I just think there's no harm trying to be more understanding of those who do have them.)

Guest victor
In the olden days, tattoos were associated with gangsterism (spelling?) and the perception persists today with the older folks. The police tends to go after suspects with tattoos believing they are "bad sons". Employers are prejudiced. Can't blame them. Personally, I see it as a failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty.
Guest Don't regret
It's probably narrow minded to take that perspective, but people who do ink need to realize it's permanent. And people's point of view and beliefs change. Heck, even love changes. Just be prepared to live by it or live it down, that's all I'm sayin'. Guest Amazing Thailand
Can't stand this public idol who wants to do it and still hides it with clothing which will usually cover his back shoulder plate area. Getting piercings shows a "failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty". Going for aesthetic procedures shows a "failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty". Wearing clothes shows a "failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty". Getting circumcised shows a "failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty". Depilation (hair removal) shows a "failure of the person to appreciate his own natural beauty".Your response shows your failure to see your own prejudice, or worse, to see it but to attempt to justify it with faulty reasoning. What's more reprehensible than starting from a place of prejudice is not having the grace to recognize it when it is pointed out and not having the empathy to refrain from perpetuating it. Guest Glyph
I hope I'm not too late, but now that ink's already embedded into your skin and you know you didn't give it proper thought previously, don't make the same mistake. AFAIK, not all tattoo removals turn out nicely, might be better if you'd just keep them (hidden with clothes)? I think the most important thing is that you don't regret any further decisions you make. Treat it as a lesson learned, maybe?
