Actually the native Taiwanese, Pinoys, Indonesians, Malaysians, New Zealand Maoris are all genetically related. That is why their languages are similar. The theory that Malays come from Taiwan does not mean that they are related to the Chinese because Taiwan was never traditionally considered Han chinese territory until the Qing/late Ming. Before that it was considered 'barbarian' land. Upon annexation, the natives were chased to the mountains, killed or assimilated. The Japanese occupation of Taiwan made it worse because the natives saw this as a third 'invasion' after the Portugese and the Chinese so they resisted their rule extra strongly. Today, besides tourism, there is a recent resurgance in indigenous pride and you have singers like A* Mei and Show Luo proudly acknowledging their native heritage. Not too long ago, it was a source of shame to be identified with indigenous blood.

A review of Royal Spa with Jazz since people have been asking about him and no one has posted anything yet:

 

This was my first time getting any sort of massage so I was a bit nervous. I came in hoping for two others but Jazz was also on my list and he was available. Simply put, Jazz is an introvert and was professional. He wasn't the talkative type and a bit impersonal, but as I said, strictly very professional if you like that sort of thing. I spoke to him in a mix of Mandarin and English, so for those wondering he does speak a tiny bit of English.

 

He never really asked how I was at any point or continued on any sort of conversation I start, so on that I was disappointed. Simply put, we didn't click. He was really hot though, I'll give him that. His massage skills are pretty good (but then again I have nothing to compare with). His shirt came off during the oil massage and his shorts during the HE, letting me touch him all over during. He looks great naked, if that counts. It remained soft, but it was a good size.

 

I'll be back tomorrow with Dada, as I have another appointment. I also wanted Auden, but he was only available today and was booked up.

Went to chuan ding on 25 and 26/3. 25/3 despite rain was crowded at 7pm , more than 100 pax. No discretion needed at all as it seems that only family visits this Onsen. While many guys are ordinary looking a And less than fit, there are enough good lookers with avg bods and fit bod avg lookers for fun esp in the groping / action room pretending to be a steam room. There was 1 guy fit and cute, we kissed and jerked but no privacy for anything else.26/3 went at 4, not many about 50 but below avg bods and looks so left at 6 for Aniki foam party. Tt was hot.

For my review of Dada:

 

I had a two hour session with Dada, and as people have mentioned before, he is very outgoing and likes to talk. It's very easy to talk with him, even with my lousy Mandarin. We talked for the most of the two hours about every little thing that comes up. He's definitely a lot more personal and eager to please. As for his looks, as he puts it he's a "cub". He's not the best looking of the bunch, but his smile and personality makes him very attractive.

 

His massage is lot of rough if you're into that sort of thing. His shirt was off from the beginning. Went fully naked when the oil came out. He's very touchy in the beginning too, but towards the end he's more sensual and natural in his flow in the massage towards the HE. I won't go into full details on what we did outside the HE, but let's just say I may be his type and he was fully erect during the whole ending. We even showered together and he scrubbed me down. Afterward he gave me his number since he wanted to make sure I had a friend out here in Taipei and I tipped him $500. I would highly suggest Dada if you want someone very warm and inviting.

 

On a side note I mentioned how he was fairly popular on here, and it made his day.

I think you mean Huang Ding.  I went on a March weekend.  It started to become crowded at around 6pm.  My observation is that nearly half of the guys were travelling from abroad.  You will be wondering how many guys can be packed inside the steam room at a time.  =D

Visited Royal spa a few years ago twice and the experiences were surreal.  They really treat you like Royalty and are very meticulous in their services.  One thing I don't like about Royal spa is they do not update the age of their masseurs' age. Jazz has been there for so many years and he us still 24?

I agree on the service side. Overwhelming good in service attitude, which makes people feel addicted.

Thanks. I will definitely give Beitou a try. I know the Taiwanese are known for being friendly and welcoming, but I guess in the gay scene there are places where fellow Asians are preferred? I have some experience from Tokyo where caucasians, in some places, were not very welcome at all...

Any latest update on Kawayu Spa? Still happening or not? Heard the spa nearby is more 'active'. Planning to be in Taipei the first weekend in June and curious about the hot spring there.
