tp85
Hi guys Just back from Taipei - great city with friendly people and yummy food. Two places of interest I thought I would share: Kawayu hotspring (bus 508/535/536 from Shipai Stn) is very open with no place for privacy. But in the small sauna there always seemed to be lots of people feeling each other up, including giving hj and, I think, at least one person giving bj (it was very steamy!) Always there were guys walking out of the sauna semi-erect. Yangmingshan Park is full of single guys eyeing each other off in the evenings. I can't be sure, but it looked like there were two guys giving each other bjs on top of one of the big concrete statues near the children's playing area. Only problem is everyone seemed too shy (like me) to make the first move. I would love to go back! passby and mijsdlog

tp85
tried any massage places or gay pubs? can share?Went to Royal Spa in XMD - took me a while to find it, even though it isn't that far from the metro station. It is a very nice spa and you get to choose your masseur via an internet portal in the reception area. I forget the name of my masseur but he was very good and the massage was strong. My whole body tingled for the rest of the day, which I think is a sign of a good massage. The massage bed was a proper one, with a hole for your head. The extra was limited to HJ. My only real complaint was the towels were really thin and not very effective. I went for a walk around XMD and there are some obvious gay bars around, but there was not much happening. Maybe going on a weeknight was not such a good idea! mijsdlog

blithe
haha that;s not true! I stayed twice at InHouse hotel in XMD, it is a nice small hotel and gay friendly. Not too too expensive, around $130-150 a night I think. But can find cheaper online. XMD has lots of very cheap hotels, that's true. Enelym1978
Guys, just go to their websites to find out about prices... For example, a 90min massage set: 40min Chinese Acupressure40min traditional oil massage10min French heat compress costs TWD 1800 (approx. SGD $75), which I find quite good. It's a bit cheaper than here in Singapore but the therapists are waaaaay cuter. Usually the oil massage is a B2B but you need to ask, depends on the spa you go to. This does not include any tips if you want extra services. Good thing is, at YF Spa, they don't hard sell the extra. If you don't give them signs that you want extra or explicitly ask, they won't do it and will massage you for 90min. Or they will ask you as well, actually, whether you want extra or not. Some therapists are very good at massaging AND at playing with you... they know how to make you want the extra services lol. blithe

I seeking those with good massage skills, gd-looking and also gay. mijsdlog
I like Royal Spa too, even if it appears to be one of the pricier massage places in Taipei. It has a proper shopfront at street level, unlike many other massage places that are tucked away in some corner where the access is troublesome or operating from a residential building. I also like that I can drop in and not have to make a reservation beforehand. Of course, you have a limited selection of therapists when you drop in, but I have tried 5 different therapists (Alex, Jun, Jazz, Hom, Alan) on the 5 different occasions that I have been there and not a single one of them has been bad. Their massage skills are at least above average; I'm not an expert but it feels like they know what they are doing, unlike some therapists I have encountered in Singapore. I always choose the basic massage package (2hrs: basic + oil) and that is what I actually got: a good serious massage. They work in the sensual touches starting aroung midway through the session - fleeting brushes against sensitive spots; accidental or intentional. I guess their assumption is that the client would like a happy ending, so towards the end of the session, they work you to a state of full arousal (unless you protest) and finally the climax. There is never talk of extra charges or anything related to fees/tips. From what I hear, they don't do more than handjobs; I don't think they even offer B2B here. So, expect a competently performed massage and maybe a handjob at the end and you'll walk out reasonably satisified. If you speak Chinese, some of them can be pretty chatty and flirty. Otherwise they are at least hardworking (I have not been cheated of my time) and respectful. There are little service touches that I love: preparing the shower, making sure that the room temperature is right, helping the customer to dress, and the general atmosphere of caring (yes, it's for the business but comes across rather genuine). The place is clean and I think there is a shower stall in every room. They use disposable towels which are flimsy and not very absorbent but that's not something that bothers me. kingbitch

Always there were guys walking out of the sauna semi-erect. Kawayu (Chuan Tang in Chinese) is nice. The bus stop is Xing Yi road lane 300 - the third stop on Xing Yi road, if I'm not mistaken. The bus fare is NTD15. It is NTD200 per entry at Kawayu. Bring your own small towel to dry yourself afterwards; if you forget, you can buy a tiny one from the reception but it is probably going to be relatively expensive for its size. If you want to use the lockers prepare two NTD10 coins. In the mornings, it can be rather empty and you might even see young dads with their little sons or grandpas bringing their grandsons. It's very pleasant and you feel very close to nature. The crowd is quite different on Saturday late afternoon and evening though. The place gets packed and the atmosphere is different. As tp685 reported, the steam room (not a sauna) is small and guys pack into it like sardines. And yes... some may be giving/receiving handjobs, especially in the back of the room. You don't even have to see it to know it is happening. You are packed in so tightly that if a guy is doing it beside you or even one or two guys away from you, you detect a bit of that rhythmic movement. It is pretty amazing to see guys still trying to enter the steam room even if one or two guys inside are visibly pressed against the glass of the door. It has never crossed my mind to ask if a particular therapist was a top or a bottom, so I don't have the information. I liked Hom's massage the most. It just felt more fluid and sure-handed. Enelym1978
Some of them won't indeed let you touch them at all, they do their job but try to avoid any.... complicated situations indeed. Either they are not gay, or you are not their type so they will just give you what you paid for, many reasons I guess.

They all seemed quite comfortable (no they didn't stand 1m away) touching a naked guy but the extent of the interaction will depend on the rapport between you and the therapist. Let them lead the session. If something feels good, give them verbal feedback. When you are on your back, the eye contact should give you a sense of where things stand if you don't have a conversation going on. I don't want to say that so and so will do this or that as there is no guarantee he will do it in every session. It is always better to go in without those expectations. After all, this is first and foremost a massage session.
