dcgmsia
Of those who are currently at Royal: Hom, Ray, Kay, Dada and Park. All good. Awesome!! Thanks for the input! I'm heading there middle/end of this month. (: Quote ** It takes rain and sunshine to make a rainbow **
studdyboy
Hello all, hope everyone's having a happy new year! Huat arh! Just wanted to give a quick field report on Royal Spa, which I went to a couple of weeks ago. Initially, I wasn't planning to go cos I was there this time last year, and the service I got was only so-so. Back then, I booked a really popular masseur, but service was quite meh. He had his clothes on throughout, massage was so-so, and there was nothing sensual about it, even though it came with HE. I think I tipped him only about NTD200 or thereabouts. I had a much much better experience at YF Spa. Anyway, so trusting all the reviews, I went back to Royal Spa this year, and asked for Dickies. And in short, WOW! Loved the entire experience from when they greet you downstairs, explain stuff to you, carries your bag and makes sure you have a toilet stop before the massage room. Anyway, the good stuff is in the room where (with A1 package) the first hour is dry massage, and the second hour is the oil massage. Massage is only so-so, but Dickies (despite my horrible Chinese) tries to make you comfortable and puts you at ease. A true gentleman and very very nice guy. I'm not a very direct / active person, but needless to say, Dickies was proactive and considerate throughout and was such a tease during the second hour (including ahem, getting au naturel) for a B2B session. The only thing I wasn't too comfortable was him 'sliding in' during the session unprotected, but he was nice about it once reminded. To cut a long story short, it was an amazing second half. I was also his last customer of the day, so not sure if that made him all the more active (although I thought he would be more tired). At the end, he took a shower first, and then lead me to take a shower by myself while he cleaned up. After the shower, he helped to apply body lotion which was a very very nice touch to end the session. I don't know if it was just me, but he gave me the impression that if I had invited him out for drinks or over to my hotel, he would have come! Then again, I'm not that direct so didn't want to ask beyond what I paid for (they are professionals at the end of the day). Anyway, Dickies looks a lot better than in his photo, and doesn't look so much like a twink any more, but a lot more fit. He's 23 and will definitely go back for him if the opportunity arises. A couple of days later, decided to go back to Royal Spa cos of the good experience, but as Dickies was on leave, I went for Karl instead. Again, he was a little different than his photo, much better looking although was shorter than expected (you can't tell height from the photo, and I missed his stats). Nevertheless, the initial experience was the same as the previous day (have to admit that Royal Spa does pay very good attention to the overall experience). Karl was a little more chatty (I was his first customer of the day), and his massage was so-so too. It seems he's only been doing it for 5 months, but he definitely was enthusiastic. The only issue I have with Royal Spa is that their massage styles are very different depending on which masseur you get, but they make up for it by the great service that the masseurs give. Karl was a little bit more playful (nibbling ears and all) so it was a fun time. Yes, he had it all off by the end too until a HE. At the end, we showered together and he was making sure I could touch various parts of his body too (he said I was very 乖, cos I didn't wanna take advantage of these guys). In short, very very good service, very friendly. At the end (no body lotion though - see what I mean about massage consistency), he also gave me the impression he would have given me his phone number if I had asked for it. So, the next time I'm in TPE, would definitely visit them again (and definitely get Dickies!!!). By the way, I'm just an average 36 year old guy, not fit and all, so if you think I was getting special attention from them, let me assure you I'm not worth it. Hope everyone else has a great experience with them!Oooo~ so Dickies fucked u raw?!

fitboy21
Is it still better to change rates in SG or TW, anyone? Thanks!
watevermightbe
Is it still better to change rates in SG or TW, anyone? Thanks!DBS in Taiwan offers better exchange rates than any money changer in Singapore. However, you still need some TWD for you to travel to a DBS there. My friend exchanged some TWD there. There is one outlet near to Taipower Station (MRT) . U need to find your way there. In addition, u need to bring your passport. They need to photo copy your passport in order to exchange and the outlets there only opens on weekdays and closes at 3pm.
Enelym1978
Have you guys ever really calculated the difference between each change office? I mean, besides the obvious tourist traps, most banks or "official" change offices are very similar to each other.... for the small amounts we change for a weekend trip, is it worth all this hassle? It's not like you're changing $1000s each time, or are you ? fitboy21

azimuth
Indeed. Sometimes the distance and waiting time if there is a queue is not worth the effort for that few dollars if you are not bringing a lot of cash overseas. Usually, I will go to Chinatown or Change Alley if I am around the area, otherwise I will just change around my neighborhood. The last resort would be the airport of cos.
zzzzzzzz
Usually will go to town, mustafa, Chinatown, or suntec to change. In Taiwan, I just change at the airport since the rates are pretty good. If not, draw from ATM only 5 charge and good rates.
nujun
Taiwan DBS offers a much better rate. http://www.dbs.com/tw/zh/personal/deposits/pages/fe3.aspxLook for the last column of Singapore exchange rate. That's the rate u get off from the counter. If changing at a denomination of every SGD1000, a difference of roughly SGD15 if u were to change over at tw. Take note. DBS Taiwan operating hours is only until 3pm and opens only on weekdays. A number of DBS can be found at nearby MRT stations eg. 新浦,天后宫,and a bigger one at 信义

Guest Joba
Just a note that Aniki is closed for now. They will re-open in June at a new location. Their landlord was not happy with them because some of the patrons were caught doing drugs, and because Aniki is a gay business. This explains why the landlord turned off their hot water. Anyway, looking forward to June
wailo
What about Jump or which club is good ?Which pub for mid age bears ?Thks in advance . I think you can try Jump. GStar and Funky have this twinky vibe, so by elimination Jump should be the best. I'm not sure which pub would be best for you though, try Utopia Asia or Travelgayasia? Or just go to the Red House, see which one has the most bears (I think the ground floor has a few at the middle section) and chat someone up. You'll get more info (and someone) that way. Matt bar was empty except for 2 regulars . Nice staff but I didn't reach out to chat cos every move I made was observed by the 2 guests ! And my beer cost me Y400/- ... Understandable due to the type of place it was , a karaoke joint + bar , so it's entry charge - didnt mind the bill but it was disappointing vs no crowd . I was too early at 10am on a Friday ....Goldfish was better in terms of people but it was not my type of Guys ... Who only seem to know each other ... Bar staff were excellent but felt they were a buffed up dudes who were tenders but not interactive . Beer was Y150 .I suspect don't go to these venues till after 11pm.Missed jump cos I overdid the shopping !Had a massage at royal spa , which was good etc but I wish they had more above 30s masseurs cos the 29 something guy who massaged me felt weird ....like it was my son massaging me ! One thing that came out of it was your recommendation of the TRAVELGAYASIA site which is very very good indeed !!!First time using it and was very impressed ....ESP because it was a guide which felt asian , good to see asian for asian sites , unlike some gay asian sites which serves the gwm from the most disgusting angles and relevance almost derogatory .Thanks again !
