Coolbriz
Most of the time we use whatsapp or line. But prefer to call if need urgent info or need to settle things fast. Of course we need to be mindful that we are all either working or schooling during office hours so cannot expect a quick reply or should refrain from calling unnecessarily during that period of time. Just let him know your difficulty in answering phone calls during work and he should be sensible enough to cooperate. If not just got to continue ignoring his calls and call back later lor.. knightD 1 Quote Be cool, like a breeze...
Guest guest2
I can't make calls via whatsapp. How to enable that?
IkuTube
I can't make calls via whatsapp. How to enable that? Nothing to enable. Should you are using Android, in the whatsapp main page and on top, there are 3 columns: Calls / Chats / Contacts. Alternatively, when you are in your contact's chat page, on the top right there is the phone icon to make the call. Coolbriz
whatsapp call seems to have issue with my iphone too. When it rings, I can't swipe to answer. I got to manually unlock my phone and get into whatsapp interface to accept the call. Quote Be cool, like a breeze...
azimuth
Prefer to whatsapp than to call. Gives me more adequate time to think of a proper response.

mate69
Just to add on, Whatsapp calls are free and are very useful if you or the other party is overseas. I think this is better and more stable than Skype. (or maybe I'm wrong)

Butterscotch
OP, perhaps you can look into your phone settings that can auto-reject a call and send him a text message saying that you are unavailable. I prefer texting to calling. I am not cut out to take phone calls (unless necessary) because I don't like the idea of being glued to the phone and thus, only being able to do one thing :\

The person returned my call outside of whatsapp and said ‘you can’t make calls in whatsapp. This is what I just lifted off whatsapp page. It may explain my situation because I was on cellular plan as opposed to internet connection. “How do I use WhatsApp Calling?WhatsApp Calling lets you call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they’re in another country. Currently, WhatsApp Calling is available on Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10.WhatsApp Calling uses your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes. Data charges may apply. Note: You can’t access 911 and other emergency service numbers through WhatsApp. You must make alternative communication arrangements to make emergency calls.”
Active1994
I personally prefer Whatsapp (or messaging in general) rather than calling, and make it a point to only call if I require their immediate attention (very rarely the case). Sometimes whatsapp notifications tend to get buried when the other party has other active chats going on, so if i require someone's attention that's relatively time-sensitive (but not extremely urgent), I'd message them via the normal message, even if I could spare 5 minutes and perhaps only resort to calling them after some time if there really is a need to. Another preference for messaging rather than calling is so that whatever words exchanged can be referred back to at any point of time, just in-case you (or the other party) forgets something from the call. And there is of course the ability to multi-task better when you're messaging. As for OP, I can only suggest not entertaining his calls and forcing him to message you (he will if he really needs you for something), and sooner or later he's bound to take note you're not a 'calling person' but prefer messages; just as how my friends usually view me. It's actually good in my opinion, that way when I do actually call them one day, they'd know its likely for something important/urgent and not some 'casual chat' haha Quote It is our choices…that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
