dont worry about fats first, concentrate on building muscles, you should cut down the fats once your bulking phase if over.

For bulking, do up a search on the amount of protein you should take in a day depending on your current body weight in pounds. For me, I managed to bulk up from 65kg to 79kg and then to 74kg. I had to eat 2x200g chicken breast everyday together with mass gainer (Mass tech from muscle tech). I did fart and shit alot, but that stuff does work, do note that it makes you very heaty too and you'll develop like pimples or whiteheads on your forearms.

separate your workout throughout the week to muscle groups instead of attacking the whole body each day.

only after you have the desired muscle mass u want then u start running and cutting down the fat on your belly.

lmao is the guest you?
umm fitness is a very subjective thing as everyone is born with different genes leh.

just do which ever feels good for you. Perhaps try 3 weeks alternate and 3 weeks simultaneous then figure which mode of lifestyle suits u the most with the results you see.

but whatever it is, die die must do cardio and gym every week if you are planing to lose weight.

More fibres, greens and soyas.  Cut out fried food, processed meat and sugary stuff.  Cut down on carbs and fats.

I think if he is already doing research, he should concentrate on planning to do a lean bulking instead. Bulking without adding on fats.

Protein plays a part but overall its more of the calories intake we need to look at. I would avoid eggs because there are fats in it. One of my meals consist of 4 table spoons of raw honey. Surprisingly that small amount of liquid is enough to partly fulfill my calories intake for the day.

So Guest, if you are serious about this, time to count your macros, lift heavy but with min reps and start doing cardio. Don't have to run, but walking on an incline treadmill works as well.

I'm really torn between doing the dirty bulk/lean out and a clean bulk. I have done both before. On the former, I did put on muscle mass but the fats were difficult to lose after. However, I was happy with the overall improvement in my body shape - wider shoulders and lats, bigger arms and thighs. The clean bulking was difficult but sounded good in theory. I personally did not get as much out of it.

What's the rush man? Slow and steady. Lean bulking allows you to be thicker with muscle mass.

I was like you too. Dirty bulking. I put on mass and everyone complemented on how huge my biceps was. Ego wise, it was good being stroked. But i cannot deny the high BF percentage I had. It shows around the waist too. and we all know how difficult it is to get rid of those waist fats lol

I took up coaching for my diet and the first few months was bad morale wise. I shrunk like crazy getting rid of the excess fats. My coach put me on a strict chicken and rice diet which saw me from 75kg to around 64kg in two months. Face became dryer and shrunken. What to do.... The old dieting method.

Now am packing on mass, began to understand more on how our body works such as being heavy is not relative to your size, how incline walking is enough to burn those extra calories... And more.

So its really a journey. But then again YOLO! Lol

Will such diets be detrimental to your brains?

I've read that lean (not sure if different from "clean") bulking may be achieved by a 14-16 hour intermittent fasting protocol, with late night eating recommended. Anyone tried that?

I usually have late dinners (clean and low carb though) anyway, so it's just about missing that bowl of yogurt in the morning and pushing lunch back for another two hours. Think I'm gonna give it a try.

You fellas probably think I'm being caught up in a fad, but I generally  eat very clean (with occasional lapses lah) and lift 5x per week (light weight high rep cos I don't wanna get too huge) with cardio on three of those days and I'm plateauing on fat loss.

In other words, I can rock a tight tee but please don't ask me to remove my shirt in public.

So no harm to try something different. I also understand this so-called IF program should be complemented by minimal reverse pyramid set training on no more than 3x per week, with cardio thrown in if desired.

I think that edamame and dragon fruit can help you. They are my favourite foods in my diet. They not only help me lose weight effectively but also gain muscle significantly.

I can eat a lot of them without worrying about gaining weight :D :D. There are some articles that confirmed the benefits of edamame and dragon fruits in losing weight and gaining muscle. You can read them at:

I am also skinny but have much belly fat. Don't eat sugar and avoid energy drink. I plan a more protein and low carb diet. Besides, try to consume more foods rich in fiber, such as squash, edamame. Those are really good for weight loss because fiber can aid the fat-burning process.

Don't forget to do exercise regularly. Gym is a great choice!

Hey why dont you try to eat more avocados? :)

A research devided participants into two groups. The first consumed a meal with avocados while in the meal of the other group, there was no avocado.

Researchers started to pose questions about satiety and hunger to both groups.

The first group who consumed avocados was less eager for foods by 28 percent in the 5-hour period.

Moreover, the high content of fiber and low amount of carbs in avocados contribute to weight loss as well.
Here is an useful source for youuuuuu: https://wikihomenutrition.com/avocados-health-benefits/
