Guest
there are some things you cannot lie which the insurers can catch u lying . for example. If u rca smoker for 3 years since beginning in NS. If you a medical claim that involves your lungs and you make a declatation that u are not a smoker. An xray and biopsy can confirm the presence of niocotine and tar in your lungs. So can be caught lying and claims denied. Some lifestyle questions like how frequent you have sex with strangers . engage in gay sex will depend if u ever have had seek medical treatment for STD and STI in our local polyclinics. If u had declared in medical records u had sex with,a,b,c,d, e.......then u cannot lie to insurers no u dont have sex with many partners. It can be usec against u. Some things you can lie. Some things u cannot . you need to becareful not to get caught. But the worse that can happen in insurance is they just wont pay your claim. I also heatd that different insurance compnies will share data base oon who was caught lying and other insurers will know from the data base so cannot go other insurance to buy coverage. Choose to reveal carefully if there will be a statutory declaration u need to sign. Some declarations u can get away some cannot.
Guest Guest88
No, I've never had any stds before. And most insurance don't cover HIV anyway. But I'll guess I just declare appropriately.
Enforcer
You need to be truthful in the declaration because investigations will be made against your claims. Insurers reserves the final rights to deny your claims.
NielKlient
What @Guest said is true. You need to declare truthfully..... Even if your insurance application is approved, the insurer have the right to deny or void your policy completely due to misdeclaration. Insurers do have a share data base and there are chances that you may be blacklisted and would not be able to purchase any policy that has coverage for the denied coverage from any other insurers. THe TS starter is trying to fish for information on how to get away with answering truthfully at some of the lifestyle questionnares that some insurance companies try to fish information from TS too. TS starter sounds like someone who has just joined the workforce and even someone who is still doing NS. He really cannot be indepedent in making the right decisions. If you plan to lie about your lifestyle choices, make sure it is something they cannot prove you are lying type okay. SOme lies can be prove by just doing amedical examination or going through your previous medical records. Why do insurance company do this, is to prevent false claims and fraudulent claims and people who malinger, if insurance do not protect themselves , then they will soon close shop. If you want to lie that some how you are a normal heterosexual, please do not have a criminal record that caught you having public sex in a public toilet , it will not support your case, if you have been seeking medical treatment for STIs and you have had to do contact tracing, it also will not support your case you are not having sex with random strangers lah
robin
Recently, I saw NTUC insurance lifestyle declaration form. I was shock that under the High Risk group, the question is whether are you a homosexual? I find that question rather gay discriminating and disturbing. For me, I am thankful that I bought all my polices many years back, way before these questionnaires came out. It is very risky for anyone of us to put it down in black/white declaring our sexual orientation as that will be captured in record and it may lead to stuff like premium increase or someone using that information for other purposes. Any agents here who can shed some light on that?
